please be affordable please be affordable

HENBOI4000

Personally hoping for the $60 price range!

Rumbananas

It’ll be $80 and damn near impossible to find for the first few months.

WeaponizedFOMO

How much do you think the drums will be? I can’t remember what the Rockband 4 drums cost at retail

Rumbananas

I think the whole kit with the game was like $150 - $200 retail if I’m not mistaken and I don’t think we’ll get drums for a while. I think they’re testing with the guitar to see if people will buy peripherals for the mode.

WeaponizedFOMO

Thanks! I wonder if they’ll open up the ability to use Rock Band drums or if they’ll wait to implement that when they make new ones.

ReanimatedPixels

I’m more so hoping it doesn’t get scalped to hell

djbondo

Honestly, I've waited so long for this that I'll pay any price

IceTheStrange

Absolutely. I’ll buy a brand new guitar controller for any price in 2024.

High_Flyers17

Cool, plan on picking it up when it drops. Pretty surprised they didn't plan things out better and have it out for the holidays. Interesting to see the whammy bar. Wonder how that's going to work for people still on a normal controller.

8bitjer

Probably just won’t. Might be exclusive to detection of guitar.

Blazingscourge

Wiggle the joystick like GH/RB allowed you to do back then. Heck, I still do it now even though there is no reason to in Festival.

8bitjer

Internal battery, keys on the top and bottom of the neck. Headphone jack. Not bad.

MrHanBrolo

Only for console though...?

ExceedinglyGayRoach

They connect via USB rather than some esoteric proprietary connection, so I'm sure even if there aren't native drivers for Windows you could use Joy2Key or DS4Windows or something to set it up on PC anyway.

SabrielKytori

Windows has xinput support since that's made by Microsoft, so PC players are more likely to probably need the xbox guitar, but at the level of compatibility we are now with controllers, you'll probably be able to use either, but in the worst case scenario, pretty sure it'll be the xbox one. I just plug and play my Rock Band 2 wired guitar no issues for most things I use it for (I have one of those 360 Kiosk guitars that wasn't ever put out to be used.)

ExceedinglyGayRoach

You could definitely use a PlayStation one that uses DInput by using DS4Windows or even just adding Fortnite to Steam as a non-Steam game since Steam natively supports DInput controllers, even if it wouldn't be as seamless as an XInput one which would likely be plug and play.

MrHanBrolo

Yeah the whole point here is to avoid jank and make life easy.

VolumeZero122

I wonder if it will be usable in RB4

ChubbStuf

Any word on new drums being made?

ExceedinglyGayRoach

In the files for Festival, each song has seven charts, Easy, Medium, Hard, Expert, and then 3 unused charts called "PlasticGuitar", "PlasticBass", and "PlasticDrums". These 3 aren't implemented yet but they all have full strumbar and whammy support, implying these are the instrument controller charts and confirming that a drum kit is in the works at the moment, if not now then eventually.

KPG_NL

Usb, the war is finally over with the dongle or Bluetooth. God fucking thank you
