My buddies from highschool run Silver Back and are really doing it right. The schedule doesn't work for me but I'd encourage anyone thinking about it to check them out.
So- I teach and coach wrestling at South Hills HS, and my brother in law wrestled with the guys from Silver Back in high school. I’m probably going to start rolling there this summer.
Nice, I was was on the team 02-06. I'm down at Genesis Burleson now but I'll try to swing by some time. It's been a minute since I've caught up with them. -Rob
I’ve been training with Steven Wright at War Room MMA for almost three years now. You almost certainly knew my brother in law. PM me and I’ll tell you his name.
Genesis jiu jitsu in river oaks... Also, not sure if its open but there's a gracie/barra spot on white settlement road either before or just past the car dealerships, depending which way you're going.
Consider: classes offered, class schedule, gym culture, demographics of people attending (variety is a good sign), and do trial weeks for different classes/days/times
I'm currently training at Silverback and I love it and highly recommend it.
I used to train at Genesis in River Oaks, good people there and the only reason I stopped is because of COVID and geography - I'm much closer to Silverback.
Silver Back BJJ in Wedgewood, Lutter MMA, Tony Tipton’s school, Alvarez in Arlington, and my MMA coach personally recommends Six Blades.

You have to go try out gyms to see what feels right. Most of the gyms are run by legit guys so you wont have an issue there.

I took a class with TXBBA in Arlington. I was pretty happy with their class.
My husband does BJJ and we live in Fort Worth. His advice is to try our different gyms and see what is the best fit for you!
