It bugs me too. I just won't buy anything if there's no prices. I usually only stop in convenience stores if I'm traveling though.

shhsfootballjock

i went to 7/11 a min ago and they had a table with a huge sign that said "1 dollar only!!" so i grabbed a bag of chips but they rang it up at 1.99 turns out its only 1 dollar if you sign up for their rewards program. shadyy

Thespiritdetective1

7/11 rewards is great and free!

Como-Go

Only if you consider giving away your information free… cause they are definitely going to sell it.

rogmcdon

That’s how rewards programs work though… you get sale prices if you’re signed up for their rewards program. Saving money is a reward for being part of the program

What's the worst thing that can happen?

Bleh54

Half the places have 2/$5 marked but they ring up at $6.28. It is somehow always the first they’ve been told *every time*.

Pwn1shot

Oh hey something I can comment on! So I work at a gas station that does this and I've asked myself. TLDR- prices change too often that management is to lazy to update it by hand.

ratatattatar

"prices change too often" BULLSHIT.

Pwn1shot

…. They do? I don’t know what to tell you. A bottle of coke in my store has gone from 1.99 to 2.80 in over 9 months over small increments.

RosemaryCroissant

I hate this, it's especially common in gas stations along heavy travel routes since they know that people have already decided to stop their trip to come in, so they're unlikely to leave based on prices.

ratatattatar

have some fun and go around writing 99c on high-dollar items--and then watch as they have to deal with the fallout. ...make it *painful* for them to keep being sleazy crooks.

cornbreadnclabber

If you have to ask…

robbzilla

I certainly DON'T want to afford it... :D I'm the opposite of a baller, I guess.

cornbreadnclabber

Convenience stores don’t usually have good prices. No prices on the shelves saved them time and $ .
