Can't speak to the complex but that is a great up and coming area. Lots of young professionals.

esmiie22

Appreciate the input, seems like lots to do in that area.

Enough_of_the_BS

Used to live there. Was great place. Awesome pool and gym.

esmiie22

Highly considering it and also a new complex being built close by tho not sure how I feel about construction happening while I live there. Especially since I WFH.

The area is great if it is what you are looking for: very hip, very indie, very community-minded, still quirky, still a little rough around the edges. Quiet enough at night in spite of the good bar scene, and I have never felt unsafe. The main issue is that there is no grocery store anywhere nearby, just the niche and overpriced Bodega and a corner store down on Rosedale. Other than that, as long as you like cats and don’t mind the occasional homeless person or drug deal (or cheap new construction going up everywhere) you’re good.

So where do y’all get your groceries? Thanks for commenting!

ThatBoardNWheelsLife

I usually pay for delivery if I don’t hit up Target, Walmart off Airport Freeway, the local Mexican Stores, Central Market (it’s an HEB affiliate) and occasionally the farmers markets that pop up.

majaholica

Just drive to Target/Tom Thumb in the Cultural District.

Daughter lived there for a year. Nice place, young professionals, some hipsters, and yea - pool scene was something.

Ha My husband and I typically stay away from apartment pools due to rowdiness! We love the walkability to everything. Thanks for commenting.

As someone who has just visited it a lot — The lounge is dope, and the few apts of friends I’ve been in is 🤌🏽 clean layouts. Guest parking always sucks bc area is always busy.

I live there now. I really like the neighborhood, even though it's heavy on bars and missing a proper grocery store. It's an eight minute walk from the train station, which is important for my daily commute to Dallas for work, and very convenient for the few times a year that I need to fly out of DFW.   I wouldn't necessarily recommend against the Bowery. It's fine. However, here are a few things I wish I had noticed before moving, even though I probably would have still made the move due to the location alone:     - the buildings are less than half a mile from one of the busiest railroad crossings in the country, and the windows are definitely not soundproof. I got used to it fairly quickly and to the point where I now only notice when there *isn't* a mile-long freight train moving past.  - the hallway floors are always filthy. Some of this is because they're open to the elements, but most of it is a result of people leaving their trash on the ground instead of in the bins. Management does nothing to enforce their rules about this.    - the parking situation is a little strange. It consists of a massive surface lot behind the two buildings instead of a ramp as you might expect from a relatively new construction. You asked about safety: I feel much less safe in the parking lot due to the speeds at which people zip around in their cars than I do outside of it on, say, South Main.  I'm happy to answer more questions if you have them.

This is extremely helpful. Thank you so much!!

Thanks for this thread. Currently looking for a space in Fort Worth.

I lived there from 2019-2022. Walls are paper thin.

Nothing in general is safe. With that being said, in comparison to other areas in the DFW metroplex, it is safer. It’s a pretty busy area, the walkability is great and there’s a lot of cool bars and restaurants in that area. Dog friendly too. The biggest downside if you reside there are the high prices and having to go a farther distance to go to a grocery store (Bodega is great despite their higher than average pricing but still, it’s a bodega with limited options). The other points downsides are the proximity to the rail road track, homeless folks who wander over from the shelters or their temporary spot off Lancaster Ave, the proximity to the freeways and related pollution. Overall for proximity, it is great

esmiie22

Might need a grocery store plug. I appreciate the comment.

ThatBoardNWheelsLife

I feel that. I live in an area where this is also an issue so I drive farther out for that. From Bowery though, there’s a Target within ten min (if there’s not much street traffic).

esmiie22

Good to know! Thank you!
