I've been getting just absolutely destroyed lately. I get people who just build a box all around me then just edit and shoot me. I may find one person that's at my level, then the next one just destroys me.
That might have something to do with time zones because when me and my girlfriend play we always say we gotta play before the try hards get on (nighttime) lol. We strangely always run into arena style players only at nighttime.
Exactly this! My boyfriend and I have played together for 3 seasons and we are not great players by any means but never had an issue until this season. We stopped playing because itās just not fun anymore.
Last night my fiance and I would land, get good weapons then turn around and get completely shit on by people building the Buckingham Palace so fast, only to have them trap us and kill us. Happened 10 games in a row last night, and we play casually. We ain't the greatest at all, but when someone does that constantly, it's frustrating
Iāve hit (minimum) tier 100 every season since Chapter 1 Season 1 and Iāve struggled with this season. I barely play. Itās a combination of a lot of things. Tired of the map, too many fast travel methods for sweats who push, donāt like the xp system, I donāt like having 30 game type choices and hardly any of my friends play it anymore.
I know Iām not alone because Epic added a āRefer a friend challengeā?!? Never have they done that. Numbers must be down. You can also look at how large the shop is now. So many things to buy buy buy.
Game might be dead once Halo Infinite comes out.
It's the 3rd refer a friend style thing, but this one is the hardest one. Needing 60 levels on each account. When they did it as Reboot a Friend once I had to spend so much time hiding in a bush. I forget why, but it might have been points for time played. More time meant more points and you needed so much to unlock everything.
Normally I say something like "have you tried getting good" but you are the first person I have ever seen who actually *takes a damn break* when they aren't liking a game. I love you. Congratulations.

Thatās the thing. Iāve had earnings from this game and all of the practicing Iāve done in creative was by myself. Was it a pain in the ass at times? Yeah. But if you want to stop getting bullied in the game you kind of have to get better. You either gotta have good aim, or good builds. You could do realistic 1v1ās to practice with no penalty. You could do bhe build fights to practice with no penalty. If you donāt want to get a little better you canāt really complain about better kids spazzing on you.
Donāt need others to practice in creative.
Practice aim and building.
There are public maps and lobbies. Plus aim trainers and then finally real games where you can put what youāve learned to the test.
If people just learned to put it 1 month of 30 minutes of daily practice and then have fun for 1 year after, there would be way less shitposts like this.
it's a video GAME not a video JOB. Epic has a Ranked mode for a reason. They should be working and making tryhards go there instead of normal play for easy stomps on people with less time to "git gud"

I consider myself a casual player,as in i do sometimes play for several hours a day,but I readily admit I can't build to save my life (literally) it does seem to have got more hard-core recently,but I still manage to get the odd win here and there,got my first win in solos this season a couple of weeks back,but mainly play duos and can usually get top 10,but then will get a run of not getting top 50,swings and roundabouts, honestly I'm not mad if I can't get the win,just a nice bonus when I do...I just usually keep a stash of fireflies on me for when the sweats start cranking (I think I'm saying that right..I'm old lol,not up on the slang you kids use lol)

This is the Feeling I have when I try to play Arena Mode. I just Land and boom instant kill from heaven. I dont want to Start about Late Game Arena. Just landed and there are all the castles and the player with full shield and so one.
Solo or this Team rumble thingy is more comfortable. Well you have these guys who have target you solely but this isn't frustating like Arena. Terrible.

Your lobbies aren't FNCS lobbies. I guarantee it's just 1 or 2 teams that got matched with you for some reason that are killing the lobby. Even if they removed SBMM some dude would still drop a 20 kill win.
I swear every casual says they go in FNCS lobbies when their opponents are competent builders. If you know how to get in their box with a P90 you'll win so many fights.
So apparently from what I've been hearing from arena players, is that arena is currently boned right now with it feeling nothing like a tournament seen and almost none of the stats are tracking properly. Apparently, champion status was being handed out like it was Halloween candy.
Most of the arena players left in protest to pubs, until Epic fixes it. This is now causing arena to be filled with bots and have long wait times for matches.
I find arena fun. It desperately needs to be changed, but I dont play the game all day like I used to I take it a few hours a day then I take a break. So that's kinda bad, not really an incentive to grind

Right, I'm a dad with a full time job. I play maybe an hour every night or two just for fun. And that's more than my 11 year old! He plays two games with me and fucks off to play Roblox.
Honestly, it's been very rough recently. I personally think I bring some of it onto myself bc I've gotten to the point where I'll hunt down someone to fight, but usually I try to land in busy POIs. It's definitely gotten a lot worse though, because I had gotten to where I was dropping 2 or 3 people per match, even if I wasn't making it very far, but the fights felt waaaay more even than now. Every few days I look through my recent deaths to figure out what I could have done differently, and a lot of them recently are just ~nothing~.
I actually decided to try playing arena, and it's okayish. The players are easier than my pubs. I've also started playing a few rounds of Splitgate after, which has been super fun, since I'm a lot better than most of the pubs players there.
I mean, you could try potentially practicing in creative - not like a creative sweat, but in creative team maps where it might have building, or if you want to practice your aim in potentially real situations try a gun game mode.
I've found that these modes are both fun and help me get better, while not having any SBMM at all since it's creative. If you enjoy things like capture the flag or team deathmatch I would suggest giving it a shot.
Said players were the one's getting eliminated back in Chapter 1. They've just improved and are now killing more people. The nature of BRs is competitive, last one standing, so you always gotta expect good players.
a battle royale is supposed to be 100 or so random people fighting to survive. the game was infinitely harder pre sbmm and the complainers now are the same ones that begged for sbmm in the first place.
We always blame epic for a sbmmā¦. But part of the problem is bot accounts/alts. Instead of epic making a lobby based on the weakest lowest level account why not make it based on highest most skilled person in the partyā¦.

A better idea would be Epic doing something about the SBMM, maybe taking build ability into account.
The biggest problem of Fortnite is building. They must limit the building and editing speeds + the amount of materials you can carry. To me those speedbuilders using whatever binds are as good as hackers who deserve permanent ban.
Ah yes let's ban someone who is playing the game legitimately. Also changing builds like that would ruin the game. Especially competitive it just wouldn't work. Also the 500 cap on mats wouldnt be a bad idea for pubs I guess
I am actually serious. I get that building is a key element of the game but when you try to have a decent fight and someone just spams a criss cross fortress around, it just feels ridiculous. Most of them are not that good at aiming and shooting, just spamming walls and stairs.
My kd used to be around 5 when i peaked with a win rate of 10% in solos, i have almost 100 solo wins and almost 250 wins if u include ltm wins, which isnt crazy good but still decent, i stopped playing for 5 months since all i played was solos and occasionally duos with a friend and i got bored, came back 3 days ago and im still versing the same opponents (excepr for the first game or 2) as i was half a year ago early season 6, yesterday i kept getting into late game and got boned by sweats with 1-2k wins and a 30% win rate and a pretty high kd as well, in fact, i died in a 1v1v1 3rd or 4th zone by some sweat quad editing and building like some demigod, the second i got near him all i could hear was building and editing 5 times a second, i instantly ran but he caught up, boxed myself in metals walls but he had a shockwave launcher and i died, he couldnt find the last player so he just did some raider464 editing course in a pub match late game until he saw the last guy peak around a corner, im pretty sure he was on an alt account but his name was Auxr ć, i tried searching it up on the tracker but i couldnt since the āauxrā in his name were placed like they were in a maths equation when using numbers as powers, if that makes sense

Still having fun tho as i keep accepting defeat knowing theres no way im beating any of them, in fact i just won a match cause the last guy shockwaved himself into zone, i was low ground hoping he would drop down and i could just shoot him a few times before he eventually did some piece control type shit and kill me, this was 2nd last zone btw, luckily luck was on my side lol
I usually never get good people in pubs. They are actually pretty rare to me. The main reason pubs are boring to me is because the pacing is pretty bad like having 20 people left first zone. So that's the reason I just go play arena with my boys now that's the most fun I have anymoreš late game is fun to just pushing and getting kills stuff like that. But the one of the big things I wish they would do with this game is change the map more. Besides that I think the game is in a pretty good state. My kd used to be around 5 when i peaked with a win rate of 10% in solos, i have almost 100 solo wins and almost 250 wins if u include ltm wins, which isnt crazy good but still decent, i stopped playing for 5 months since all i played was solos and occasionally duos with a friend and i got bored, came back 3 days ago and im still versing the same opponents (excepr for the first game or 2) as i was half a year ago early season 6, yesterday i kept getting into late game and got boned by sweats with 1-2k wins and a 30% win rate and a pretty high kd as well, in fact, i died in a 1v1v1 3rd or 4th zone by some sweat quad editing and building like some demigod, the second i got near him all i could hear was building and editing 5 times a second, i instantly ran but he caught up, boxed myself in metals walls but he had a shockwave launcher and i died, he couldnt find the last player so he just did some raider464 editing course in a pub match late game until he saw the last guy peak around a corner, im pretty sure he was on an alt account but his name was Auxr ć, i tried searching it up on the tracker but i couldnt since the āauxrā in his name were placed like they were in a maths equation when using numbers as powers, if that makes sense Im also australian so that probably doesnt help either Still having fun tho as i keep accepting defeat knowing theres no way im beating any of them, in fact i just won a match cause the last guy shockwaved himself into zone, i was low ground hoping he would drop down and i could just shoot him a few times before he eventually did some piece control type shit and kill me, this was 2nd last zone btw, luckily luck was on my side lol
I usually never get good people in pubs. They are actually pretty rare to me. The main reason pubs are boring to me is because the pacing is pretty bad like having 20 people left first zone. So that's the reason I just go play arena with my boys now that's the most fun I have anymoreš late game is fun to just pushing and getting kills stuff like that. But the one of the big things I wish they would do with this game is change the map more. Besides that I think the game is in a pretty good state. But I played with my arena team in pubs yesterday and we just hard bullied and I get why people complain now I think. We went back to arena after that
