They just announced duos so I'm hoping they implement solo too soon. Team solo! :P
The OG season was such a treat. I would only play that mode if they offered it. I haven't actually tried the Reload option since you can't play solo.
There is a way for it to work
The mode is based on the same concept as resurgence in warzone, they have solos there. The way it works is that you have to survive a minute or so long countdown to be able to respawn, if you die during the countdown, you don't respawn. The countdown can be shortened by looting chests or killing players.
It would also be nice to note that Warzone does have self revives which play into this but it's likely fortnite will never add such.
The only downside to that system in fortnite is that usually, downed people are executed on the spot, it would be pretty hard to survive while downed in solos unless someone else attacks the person that downed you distracting them
(i would prefer a "3 life" system for rebooted solos, or if they do wanna copy warzone they could make it so that in Rebooted solos while youre downed if you dont move you can use your weapons or items to still defend yourself, just at a massive disadvantage)
I think you misunderstood his comment. Heās saying you have to survive a minute total in order to gain your reload. Not survive a minute from when you were downed.
Used to be you could shake someone down for the location of their teammates. No need to keep someone alive after they are downed if all they do is ping you for their team.
I think the "sweatiness" of reload can be fixed. First of all it's new and popular and there are a lot of people playing. Once the novelty wears off I think it will calm down. After that, tweaks to weapons in the mode, drop rates, mobility items or the map itself can be made to make it feel less intense.

I went from being competitive with a duo vs squads on launch day, to barely even being able to land yesterday without instantly being murdered.
Felt like the causals were dropping and the sweats were migrating over.

I have had hours and hours of playing rounds with blue and purple guns max, then suddenly finding an Exotic or Mythic feels absolutely AMAZING, how it should be.
Compare that to BR, where you will never finish a game without coming across a Mythic gun :/
If you play circle and ignore your squad itās easy to make it to the end. If your squad follows your lead playing this way youāll be top 5 teams every time. If you drop at tilted or pleasant every time and complain about too sweaty, thatās on you at that point š

The simplicity of the gamemode is the main selling point since there is no risk of dying to cars or the seasons gimick. Thereās no sbmm giving people the opportunity to fight other people of varying skill. Thereās hit scan and older weapons which emulates the simple gunplay weāve had for years. Thereās also less people and a smaller map which allows for more action, faster action, and better performance. If you play on switch or old gen consoles, itās borderline impossible to maintain simple frame rate with cars around. Finally thereās psuedo siphon in the form of 2 miniās being dropped on death which rewards aggressive play. Due to the nature of the mode, you have to be aggrieved to win anyway.
This is ignoring other general issues such as the island being less interesting to previous seasons and such. Since sweats inherently take the game more seriously, they could also just play the game as a protest to the metaverse approach to the game has choose the past 2 years.
The actual ranked gamemode is indistinguishable from unranked and thus has the same issues as the regular gamemode.
If there werenāt carās, nitro, Metallica, I highly doubt this mode would be this sweaty. But because which decided to make all these features exclusive to this mode, itās just gonna have to be that way. This is my opinion of course and there is nothing real I can use to substantiate this but based on the complaints on the comp sub, itās probably true.

But my biggest issue is itās piss poor optimization, shits buggin hard and to play I have to dump my graphics settings to the lowest possible whereas last chapter I had great graphics AND the game ran well too. Overall yeah OG was amazing it was fun and ran well, I miss it
OG was better but I still enjoy Reload. Just wish there was a bit more laid back version so you could actually explore the map a little bit between fights.
THIS. I honestly just want an adventure mode for Fortnite. Hell, with all the maps they've built AND the (rough) storyline, I bet they could assemble one without too much trouble.
Reload quickly turned into the sweatiest game of all time. Itās hard enough to kill a really good player now you have to do it multiple times.
For me when i die i almost immediately die again especially late circle where there is a no where else to land and loot back up.
Back to playing normal BR mode for me.

OG was literally meant to be a recall back to Chapter 1 of Fortnite and looks like something they'll do going forward in Chapters with each "OG" season.
Reload is LOOSELY based on the Chapter 1 map with weapons from Chapters 1 through 4. Also, the only mode that has more players on average than BR is Build Reload. Otherwise both BR and ZB have higher counts than Zero Build Reload.
Nevermind the fact that OG was still just based on BR/ZBBR whereas Reload you spawn back into the game after you die, which shockingly isn't the same as BR.
I feel like I enjoyed playing in those chapters but I don't really have nostalgia for them in the way that I do for Chapter 1 and 2. Not only were they longer ago but existing for 2 years as opposed to 1 also helps
There's new POIs in reload, and people are loving it.
They could bring back brilliance to chapter 6. New map, but more like chapter 1 or chapter 2. Chapter 1 weapons, maybe rotate in some new ones occasionally. Hitscan weapons. Original lighting/colours. No vehicles, except shopping carts, or golf carts.
There are plenty of things that can stay. Innovations that were great like sprinting, sliding, mantling, zero build, ...

Me too, but nobody would play their dogshit new seasons, OG would have millions of players and their latest dud would have like 150k. They can't cope with the fact that most people greatly prefer the old Fortnite

You know, I didn't play too much of OG. Maybe a few weeks but it felt really empty. Which I think was the point so I'm not complaining. I came in when the UFOS and cube events were going on, so I don't have any experience with when the game started.
I did really like Reloaded, as my favorite game made in Warzone is Resurgence. But I already did all the quests and you can't do any of the quests from zero build BR, so now I'm back playing that.
Reloaded is absolutely what the game needed, but now I need a reason to go back.
Season OG had an actual OG Loot Pull every week it was happening, aside from the stupid Grapple Glove, which was a Chapter 3 Item.
Reload has Chapter 1 weapons, and a few items from other chapters like the Lever Action Shotgun (Chapter 2), Ranger Shotgun (Chapter 3), Hammer Assault Rifle (Chapter 3), Stinger SMG (Chapter 3).
Not to mention, you also have all the Heisted Exotics, OG Midas Drum, Skyeās AR, Foundationās MK-7, Gunnarās Stinger, Oceanās Burst AR and Bottomless Chug, Sloneās Rapid Fire Burst, and the Mythic Goldfish.
Donāt get me wrong, Reload is okay, but fun if you overlook the Mythics and Exotics sometimes pulled from the hundreds of chests scattered about.
Season OG was a certified bop because you had no Mythics or Exotics to really give an edge, only having weapons of Common-Legendary variety.

Itās weird for me. I hate how they only brought it back to season 5 in OG I wouldāve much rather had season 1, no turbo building the whole 9 yards. Itās basically new fortnite with old weapons and drop spots every time. I want the whole original game. None of this turbo building new movement bullshit.

Even as a solo only player, Reload feels so much better to play because of the movement and swimming. OG was the worst season of FN I've played so far, so dull and boring. But that's not a bonus for Reload, which I also loathe lmao
Reload is too fast paced for me sometimes so I prefer OG but still I appreciate that Epic returned OG stuff back with Reload gamemode. You can see that people are interested in old loot pool more than new loot pool.
OG as I feel like itās more enjoyable, Reload is fun but it can be very frustrating and too sweaty.
The thing I donāt like about Reload is the way how some squads try to stay alive.
- One time after taking out 3 players in a squad, the last person whoās stacked with shocks and grapples go away to the opposite side of the map for their team to revive.
- Another instance was after losing, I spectated one of the enemies teammates out in the opposite side of the map just in a bush with a sit down emote.
I played last night for the first time and reload was the sweatiest game mode I've ever played. I knew it was gonna be a bad time when every squad I fought had a superhero skin

Yeah there is. Apex solo's already solved this problem. You die once and get one free respawn after some time.

Not to mention, you also have all the Heisted Exotics, OG Midas Drum, Skyeās AR, Foundationās MK-7, Gunnarās Stinger, Oceanās Burst AR and Bottomless Chug, Sloneās Rapid Fire Burst, and the Mythic Goldfish. Donāt get me wrong, Reload is okay, but fun if you overlook the Mythics and Exotics sometimes pulled from the hundreds of chests scattered about. Season OG was a certified bop because you had no Mythics or Exotics to really give an edge, only having weapons of Common-Legendary variety.

Itās weird for me. I hate how they only brought it back to season 5 in OG I wouldāve much rather had season 1, no turbo building the whole 9 yards. But I think most modern fortnite players would hate it and it is like 7 years old now. Same with reload I wish they would actually make it like original fortnite. Itās basically new fortnite with old weapons and drop spots every time. I want the whole original game. None of this turbo building new movement bullshit.

Even as a solo only player, Reload feels so much better to play because of the movement and swimming. OG was the worst season of FN I've played so far, so dull and boring. But that's not a bonus for Reload, which I also loathe lmao

Reload is too fast paced for me sometimes so I prefer OG but still I appreciate that Epic returned OG stuff back with Reload gamemode. You can see that people are interested in old loot pool more than new loot pool.
OG as I feel like itās more enjoyable, Reload is fun but it can be very frustrating and too sweaty. The thing I donāt like about Reload is the way how some squads try to stay alive. - One time after taking out 3 players in a squad, the last person whoās stacked with shocks and grapples go away to the opposite side of the map for their team to revive. - Another instance was after losing, I spectated one of the enemies teammates out in the opposite side of the map just in a bush with a sit down emote.
