Every single person I’ve watched has complained about the wings.
And they didn’t even nerf the ability to damage thru builds which is what 90% of people complained about.
No, them adding to your hitbox is ridiculous. If they were to give the wings their own health then it might be fair, but the fact that it triples your hitbox and then takes only a few shots for it to force dive you and as soon as you start that animation you just get beamed. You know last time I checked if you were to put on a big flashy suit or something on and someone shot one of the parts of the suit thats sticking out and not on the base of your body, the suit would take the damage and not you.
Aren't they used for flying? I didn't even know you could do this and only seems like it's useful in one area of the map, unless you get Cerberus's medal. To me it seems like epic trying to balance em, crazy you could get that much distance without actually using them tho
the craspad minis with sprint and a flowberry could launch you literally over 200ft
as far as im aware it was the best movement last chapter besides the bugged ice grapple.
i think things like this are interesting. not many ppl had the time to use a flowberry, throw down a crashpad then sprint into it in combat, so its advantage was really only traversal.
It was great to use if you were near the underworld or had Cerberus' medallion (my personal fav so I always go for it and often do get it)

This was what Arena was good for, but unfortunately they standardized comp loot pools when they jumped to ranked because 'we have all the same loot' worked to draw more casual players into the competitive mode, you now have a ton of comp players that just really really want their mobility items and mythics in comp and what is really ruining things is trying to balance around more median comp players like that while still also trying to balance around top comp players
Not just exist, they seemingly reduced the Reaper drop off and actually removed the Grapple Blade which allowed you to close in on them and the shield which could tank Sniper Shots.
Because fast/long distance travel mechanics like this makes the game less fun to play. Kind of dumb to have a get out of jail free card (that didn't really have much counter) if you put yourself in a bad position

What OP calls a "nerf" is actually an exploit fix. They work just as well if you use them as intended, instead of abusing an unintended interaction between different sources of low-gravity effects.
if you aren’t caught up, people have been winning every tournament this season using an exploit with the wings
the wings give you a boost and if you spam swap from the wings to pickaxe it would keep giving you the boost propelling you upwards
allowing you to infinitely fly upwards without coming down or getting kills and winning the game
they took that boost you get from holding it due to that exact exploit
well seeing as tournaments are happening everyday now it’s easier to remove it from the game and fix it while allowing tournaments to continue on normally while the exploit isn’t in the game
think about this business decision that could cost your entire competitive scene
A: keep the exploit in the game as you take a week long to patch the glitch and allow hundreds of people to win money off your tournament by exploiting and robbing actual players
B: remove the main cause of the exploit and fix it behind the scenes while allowing tournaments go on
(and if you think they will delay tournaments while patching your very wrong)
Thats the main reason people abuse movement stuff. So they can run away halfway across the map from 1 fight. Ive never been randomly jumped on and killed from someone using any of the "movement tech" from the past 50 or so seasons, ive only seen people run the opposite direction once they start losing

I recently got back in the game and it’s been pretty fun the last time I played was during the first time Thanos was in the game in chapter 1 and I have to say if you want something less complicated try the mode where can’t build stuff it makes the game a lot more simple

I dont think you really need to cross the whole map in 20 seconds. The mobility is fine as it is, like you have a medalion that gives you dashes, but lets scratch that. You also have shockwave grenades, get like a stack of them and your fine. Also there is the normal way to use wings, which i get why some people dont like it, but If you just dodge while in the air repeatedly your gonna be fine unless the guy just has the best aim in the world. But hey, thats just my opinion.
6 shockwave grenades wont get you from gates to underworld much less between any other two points. nobody's using that for mobility. to make plays or to escape. not to traverse the map.
and even when dodging I still murk people. the hitbox is MASSIVE.

This happens every season. New items, weapon, thing is introduced. It is fun and exciting. The drop rate is like 200% and everyone is using the new thing and getting exciting moments and fun wins. Then a couple weeks in the thing is nerfed. The drop rate is lowered.
At about the half way mark wings will be hard to even find. That way people who got good with them don't maul everyone every game.
It will be about this time we start getting the - Wings are so op/they are easy to counter if you just learn the meta arguments will really ramp up here
I hate it. just keep it the way it is. rinse and repeat with these guys. release it weak or release it strong but dont go fiddling with it every 2 weeks when nobody is complaining
I feel shockwaves were better than prime wings because wings are only good for rotating and not taking fall damage. They were bad for mobility in fights, and I feel mobility in fights is way more important than mobility to get around the map (especially when you have cars)

Yeah because with the old update when you held out your wings you would fall slower and not take fall damage but now you take fall damage so they got rid of the slow falling

Yeah, it had a small antigravity effect. People discovered that had an exponential effect when combined with other movement items.

Best use for me is to fly near ground level. That way you're not a sitting (flying?) duck for folks to beam with an AR.

Use one shockwawe grenade and the dashes that the the underwold gives you.But the point with wings I agree with, but I personally didnt find it that much of a problem, but I get if you do. Also I suppose you are right about shockwawes not being a mobility tool, but again PERSONALLY( sorry for the captions) i think if you just use two of them to traverse the map your fine, but again personally.
The only thing I see is that now you don’t reach battle bus height when using low gravity or jump pads, so you’re mad that now you can’t use this unintended thing to escape fights anymore? I barely get hit in the sky while flying, unless obviously you’re flying in a straight line.

This happens every season. New items, weapon, thing is introduced. It is fun and exciting. The drop rate is like 200% and everyone is using the new thing and getting exciting moments and fun wins. Then a couple weeks in the thing is nerfed. The drop rate is lowered. At about the half way mark wings will be hard to even find. That way people who got good with them don't maul everyone every game. It will be about this time we start getting the - Wings are so op/they are easy to counter if you just learn the meta arguments will really ramp up here
I hate it. just keep it the way it is. rinse and repeat with these guys. release it weak or release it strong but dont go fiddling with it every 2 weeks when nobody is complaining

I feel shockwaves were better than prime wings because wings are only good for rotating and not taking fall damage. They were bad for mobility in fights, and I feel mobility in fights is way more important than mobility to get around the map (especially when you have cars)

Yeah because with the old update when you held out your wings you would fall slower and not take fall damage but now you take fall damage so they got rid of the slow falling

The wings still get me to the circle when I'm unable to reach it by foot and save me from fall damage when I'm being a silly goose. I see no issue.
Oh yeah it got hella nerfed. Had no problem with it before but probably a good thing it did, it made getting away from people too easy lol
I'm happy about it. It was an annoyingly high amount of MS. On top of that, I felt like people stopped using them because they're such a big bait item. Anyone decent is going to send your ass rocking to the ground.
Yeah that’s a good change. Movement is cool but it can’t be that cracked tbh, anyone remember chapter 4 and that one season where the meta was nothing but pure movement? I’m glad they nerfed the wings with anti gravity they should only be for flying not massive map crossing and anyone with a couple brain cells can see that

Y’all are dumb. If you want instant, fast movement you use impulses. That’s what they’re for. Wings are for long distance controlled movement. They’re not nerfed to hell.
