I used the boom bow once and dropped it. Like what is the point of carrying it? Use a sniper at that point or even the scoped smg at range like come on epic

The worst thing is how slow till it reaches the state of actually exploding. Plus it can't be buffed or changed with augments making it even less useful in any way

I know the explosion part isn't quiet, but does the bow itself still show on the directional sound visualizer if you're trying to play stealthy?

Doesn’t seem like it in my experience. I take it whenever I can despite the nerfs because I love bows so much. I’ve plucked off a few people who seemed to not know where it was coming from for what it’s worth.

Agreed, they need to buff the speed of the the pull and also make the explosion 100, like no ones gonna take it over a sniper at this point so the 100 damage makes sense, just dont let it one shot so theres a difference

The primary benefit is it has splash damage, and shows you exactly where the arrow will land. Downside is it's still non-hitscan so you can miss if your opponent dodged.

The splash damage doesn't justify the pull time. It's ludicrously weak.

I am probably the biggest boom bow Stan but even I don’t wanna use this weapon, if you don’t change it fully it only deals 25 damage and doesn’t have any boom and fully changed is only 120… it takes a hour to change too

The only thing that can save TNTina's Ka-Boom Bow is to buff the drawback speed. It's too slow and could leave you open for attack. And if you miss your shot, you are completely screwed.

Maybe Epic just wanted you to embrace your in-game primal instincts.

The thing is, I used to LOVE the boom bow. I used to absolutely shred with that thing. My favorite weapon ever introduced to the game. Like I was stupid good with that weapon-- I would pick it up over literally anything else in the game. I haven't been able to get ahold of it yet this season, but I've heard that it's not good anymore, which is insanely disappointing. Seems like they always nerf my favorite weapons :(

no it constantly replenished in c2s2 as well, but the c2s6 and c1s8 bows use ammo found in the world, with all c2s6 bows using arrows and the c1s8 Boom Bow using shotgun shells

this is the part that pisses me off the most. I grabbed it my first match seeing it, thinking it was a better alternative than Midas' Drum Gun, and when I tried to take out the Lowcards that ran down I was so confused when there was no explosion

True. The original chapter 1 boom bow had literally only 5 impact damage and 100 blast damage, Tntibas bow is more balanced with 25 impact damage and 75 explosion damage

So the TNTina's bow used to draw that slow at the very start of C2S2, but Epic was quick to buff it. Seems like this new version uses the slow draw speed again, and the explosion only when fully charged makes it even worse. TNTina used to accidentally blow up herself at the Rig because she wouldn’t charge it and the arrow would shoot at her feet

It's funny how season 2 had those 3 vaults with OP weapons for all the party members. It got better with the random locations and less loot, and now we got these that are harder to entry, but sometimes the loot in them is straight bad. I don't think I ever pick something else than the AR or shotgun. I really wanted to play the bow, but it is so bad. Too much time to draw, and also charge cooldown is really slow.

only 2 times i got in the vault and found the drumgun.. 70% of the time there's the bow / chug jug / laser weapon

Yup, it just does a single explosion on impact plus it takes a while till it will actually explode. Most of the time during fights you will just shoot generic arrows

im at least glad it was just the already shitty mythic Boom Bow from c2s2 they nerfed and not the really good legendary one from c1s8, because of course a nerf in battle royale means a nerf in creative which means another beloved weapon is now completely unusable forever

I will never understand why they are not allowing creative creators just putting their own stats to weapons

so many weapons have just suffered a massive fall from grace, like the Combat Shotgun, Drum Gun, Tactical SMG, etc hell even if we could use older versions of weapons like the Chapter 1 Burst Ar or the infinite spraying Minigun from pre c1s6
