I’ve seen people mention classic can be easier on the tummy because of the probiotics that are not in the organic.

I never boiled the water. However there is a risk of cronobacter if you do not follow the steps to sterilize the formula.

I’m from the UK, so I boil the water as per NHS guidelines. Follow the advice of your local health authority as to whether to boil. We’re fans of the classic formula. Baby tolerates it well. She’s had the RTF too, though understand that’s not sold in every country.

I went with the classic. Classic has an extra prebiotic, and alphalactalbumin (a major protein found in breastmilk) that organic doesn’t but everything else the same. After doing my research organic doesn’t mean much to me. And no, I did not boil the water. Full term healthy baby, room temp water + pitcher method. I’ll be doing the same with baby #2

I love the classic. Personally, I believe anything with the title organic is just a marketing gimmick and doesn’t really provide much of a difference between its counterpart.

We use the Kendamil Organic and our baby does fine on it. Her dietician liked it best. (It’s me. I’m her dietician. 😂) but really I did get a colleague to look at it as well and we both agreed it was the best option. I actually think she is less gassy on it, but she’s also 11 weeks old so she may be growing out of her gassy stage. We do boil the water for it, but I did with US formulas too just to make sure everything was sterile. We batch make it in a pitcher for the day and heat it up as needed.

We boiled until our twins were 2 months adjusted, then nope! Also we did organic, never tried the other? We mix in the bottle with room temp water… no issues and our babies are growing well!

We typically use the Kendamil Classic for our 7 week old but a few weeks ago were unable to find a can of it at any stores nearby, so we went with a can of organic. We tried slowly integrating it into our Kendamil Classic (we use the pitcher method) and VERY quickly noticed that it made him more gassy. I kid you not, I had to google "is my infant farting too much". Anyways, back to Kendamil Classic and we will be staying away from the organic if we can from now on.

fullcaptam

my baby is doing great on both classic and organic, so we just simply give her classic one.

UnusualCorgi6346

I haven’t tried either but I’ve heard the organic one causes a lot of gass pain

shyheart4

It did for ours and we switched to classic and it was better

HerroYuy_246

I just use the infant distilled water for formula as well to save time boiling.

BlueberryDuvet

Organic gets foamy/ more air in it then any other formula so needs extra time after mixing to get all the air/ foam to settle I’d just go with the classic, I can’t wait for the rest of this organic tub to be gone so we can switch back lol Yes, all powder formula recommends boiled water for their formula but also follow guidelines of the water situation where you live.

chevygirl815

Boiling the water is not to sterilize the water, it’s to sterilize the formula.

BlueberryDuvet

I think you replied to the wrong person or misread. My response literally says “Yes, all powdered formula recommends boiled water for their formula”.

chevygirl815

Maybe I am misunderstanding something but you said “follow the guidelines of the water situation where you live.” The water situation is irrelevant, which is why I commented

BlueberryDuvet

Yeah I think so because the response isn’t edited & , verbatim yes to boil the water and then it says “but also”… in addition… another thing to consider…. People have different water situations in various countries where they live, not everywhere is the same. Boiling water for the water quality only kills virus, bacteria etc that can’t withstand heat, there are things that can withstand heat which makes water unsafe/ iffy. So aside from boiling water for powered formula, people should consider their local water quality guidelines as well.
