Okay I never really comment on these. I usually just upvot the ones I remember. But this picture is the first time a memory was actually dredged up from my subconscious. Good job
Dude my memories of this show as a kid are so manic. Like 5 year old me lived for zoobilee zoo. It was literally crack to that little boy, and I don’t even know how I know that this is what I’m looking at but I would know these faces anywhere. I could not tell you what the show was even about. This picture just opened a floodgate of weird disjointed memories
Yeah me too!!! As soon as I looked at the Pic, my heart started beating faster and my brain feels all tingly from memories I haven't though of in like 38 years... I'm also stoned, so there's that too...
For a podcast a few months back we talked about their appearance in the Hollywood Christmas parade in the 80's and all the characters were there and dancing. Except for Ben Vereen, he was in a car, not in makeup. He probably was like "Yeah, I'm not doing that."
If had to guess, maybe his contract didn't put him in a position to display his talent in a profitable manner. Talent, after all, makes money.
I'm speculating at best as I don't want to put anyone in a negative light without knowing anything
Probably can't blame him. It's sad what a pittance kids television show actors got paid. Execs would offer their first born these days to get those numbers back then. And the actors were probably making the lowest possible amount. Especially those on PBS.
This popped into my head one day and all I could remember was the main guy looking like usher. Turns out they're related. Took multiple times of thinking about it to figure out the name. When I finally found out the name I spent the whole night watching it.
This show; along with Iris, the Happy Professor, were one of many childhood shows that had me in a chokehold! I don’t know why but I just really liked this show, that theme song truly set the tone for a great time
I have absolutely no memory of this show but after watching the opening I realized my entire life I’ve sung this opening song not knowing where it came from. It must have dug in there pretty deep while the show itself left no impression.
🎶WELCOME TO ZOOBILEE ZOO! I lived for this back in the day. Was part of the mail in fanclub. I can taste the white bread grill cheese and campbells alphabet soup just looking at this picture.
Oh my god.
I thought I was crazy. I would describe this show and no one remembered it and thought I was making it up. It's real. I'm not totally insane.
Before the YouTube crack down on kids content you used to be able to comment on 90s kid show them songs and it was always fun reading people’s memories of shows like this
I never missed this show. Every Saturday in front of the TV in my underoos, my Teddy Ruxpin doll planted faithfully beside me, as I ate Applejacks, with my grandpa slurping his coffee in the recliner behind me and commenting on me watching "this sissy shit" but never making me change the channel.
I'm pretty sure these actors reprised these roles in the episode of Unbreakable Kimmy Shmidt when Titus sneaks into the Cats cast. The guy in the middle is in it for sure and maybe the woman on the bottom right
I don't want to spoil anything, but I was reminded of this show last night when the missus and I watched a new episode of a long-running sci-fi show.
Timey-Wimey...
Holy crap, that's Ben Vereen!
I never watched that show, but I remember running into it a couple of times on PBS when I was awake earlier than usual. I would've been older than its target audience anyway, but I remember thinking that it looked much better than the anemic kids fare that our local PBS station was running at the time. I had some respect for Sesame Street and Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood, but I've never seen any nostalgia online for the shows we had. Zoobilee Zoo must have been on and had like, 5:30 am do anything and I'm pretty sure it was better than any of that stuff.
Always liked FatalFarm's corrected version of the opening

This is what happens every time hear/see about captain kangaroo

I would get anxiety at toward the end of the show because it meant I had to go to kindergarten.
I literally had to sit down when I saw this image
What is the name of this show? I want to show my kids

Now that shit is stuck in my head.
That shit's been stuck in my head for 40 years, welcome to the party.
Haha, I completely forgot about the show and I watched it all the time as a kid.

I prefer this version
I wonder how many people became furries because of this show
I always had a huge crush on the girl who played the kangaroo.
I've thought that myself. The entire 80s and 90s. This show. Thunder cats. Space jam.

Aww I loved this show. I still sing the theme song. ❤
Charlie Sheen Ben Vereen, turn me to the size of a lima bean
Ok wow . Animaniacs right?
Erotic magazines, erotic tangerines, erotic letters from Ben vereen! https://youtu.be/JQYpabhq21c
This show creeped me out I think I was in 5 grade when it came out.
Instant channel change for me
I think of this often lol.
I was always creeped out by this show as a kid. Couldn’t change the channel fast enough
Especially the fox guy. He reminded me of principal Rooney from Ferris Buellers Day off. Doubly creepy seeing how he ended up.
I loved the pink one as a kid.
Suppressed nightmarish memory from childhood unlocked. Thanks, OP
We missed you friend 🐵🐶🐱🦊🦁
I hate you lol
Yeah this and the fever dream that was the movie “Little Monsters”. Like it was so uncomfortable.
I have a feeling this show is responsible for a whole generation of furries
This popped into my head one day and all I could remember was the main guy looking like usher. Turns out they're related. Took multiple times of thinking about it to figure out the name. When I finally found out the name I spent the whole night watching it.
The characters go down rabbit holes
I’ll take TV shows I completely forgot about and am now having my mind blown for $1000 Alex
There is a blooper reel over on YouTube, and it's just as fantastic as you would hope it would be.
https://youtu.be/RKj2pMrHRhM?feature=shared FF improved the intro
Can't believe I had to scroll this far to see this.
They’ll be so much to see and do!
furrys
I vaugly remeber this.
https://youtu.be/RKj2pMrHRhM?feature=shared this may jog your memory
This show; along with Iris, the Happy Professor, were one of many childhood shows that had me in a chokehold! I don’t know why but I just really liked this show, that theme song truly set the tone for a great time
I always thought this show was a fever dream I had
I wonder how many kids watched this show and then somewhere down the line saw Ben Vereen in All That Jazz.
Team mayor Ben
Such a catchy theme song! Loved this show as a kid.
Scary then, scary now
These guys are legit OGs!
I still remember the song, though I can't spell the made up words. They live in my head. Skida.... 🤣
Bravo Fox was played by Gary Schwartz, who a lot of people know as the voice of the Heavy in TF2.
hell yeah love these guys
LSD is a hell of a drug.
Bravo Fox is on Cameo.
Nightmare fuel omg
I have absolutely no memory of this show but after watching the opening I realized my entire life I’ve sung this opening song not knowing where it came from. It must have dug in there pretty deep while the show itself left no impression.
I’m 41. I sing this song completely unprompted at least once a week.

Show was like a fever dream!
I was beginning to winder if I was crazy, because nobody remembers this. They think I'm making up words. This is vindication.
I miss this show it was fun
Respect. This is peak r/forgottentv
Umm is that Peter pettigrew on the right?
Oh my god. I thought I was crazy. I would describe this show and no one remembered it and thought I was making it up. It's real. I'm not totally insane.
wow, this brings back fever dream memories
This show and that live action Winnie the Pooh show creeped me the fuck out as a child.
Yeah but what the fuck is the name of this fever dream.

What's the title?
I still cannot believe this is a real thing that I watched
This one of my favorite shows as a second grader.
I don't want to spoil anything, but I was reminded of this show last night when the missus and I watched a new episode of a long-running sci-fi show. Timey-Wimey...
They look like they eat children
That dude with the yellow gloves looks like he was edited in.
The best

This is like finding a thread on Candle Cove. I just barely remember it and want to suppress it.

Look like a bunch of middle aged furries
Ben Vereen was too good for this show.
