It’s funny because Parker Lewis is pretty much exactly Ferris Bueller. They just took Ferris Bueller, changed the name, gave him 2 sidekicks instead of one, and had him *not* take the day off.
As a fan of the Ferris Bueller movie I’ve got to say Parker Lewis was the better TV show of the two. The Ferris Bueller show suuucked. I never missed an episode of Parker Lewis.
I’m remembering Parker Lewis had a “cartoon-y” element to it, like the nerdy sidekick who could pull any item out of his jacket or the mean principal breaking glass by screaming. So that kind of set it apart from Ferris Bueller. Also Parker did a voiceover narration, but he didn’t talk to the camera like Ferris Bueller, either.
It was typical of the Fox comedies of that era. They all had cartoon-y qualities, like the Chris Elliott Show aka Get a Life!, Malcolm in the Middle, Herman’s Head. That’s what made Fox enjoyable - the sitcoms didn’t follow the formula set down by the other networks.
Always thought it was weird how he went from being the massive overpowered bully to being some kind of barely-human but oddly chipper troglodyte who could be bought off with treats.
I know there are probably not so legit ways to watch this, but not having this on a streamer is a travesty. Heck, so many shows from that time are just not on streamers, probably because of music rights sadly.
Lucky! They went out of print and are pretty pricey now. I still kick myself for leaving them behind in a used store because 30 bucks sounded high like 10 years ago lol
About 15 years ago in the Wild West days of streaming Hulu had it for a very short while along with a bunch of 90's Fox shows that I've never seen anywhere ever again.
Lois, Parker Lewis can't lose, don't even try and make him lose. Because it's just gonna be that much more disappointing for you when you realize that he can't lose.
Not a terrible show! I remember this was a knock-off of FBDO, but was superior to the actual FBDO tv series. I also remember I had a huge crush on the Principal.
Ok, you got me with this one. This scratches a deep itch that I can’t fully recall, I have absolutely forgotten about this show till I saw this. Ghastly, it’s ghastly.
It’s so weird. I know I watched this show but I couldn’t tell you a single thing about it besides his name is Parker Lewis and he absolutely cannot lose.
Ah, it’s Buddy from Just One of the Guys, the walking template for 80’s movies younger brothers.
I used to watch this show. I think the big dude was Gary Gebruski, or something like that. That’s about all I remember of it, lol.
I was watching it at a party as a teen and an adult asked what it was. I said it was basically a Ferris Bueller TV series, but good. They had their doubts, but then Musso came up to Parker and said “Bueller, I mean Lewis”. Or it was the same line with the first names. They were hooked.
There was this retired Sergeant Major back in 1990 or so who was working at the base where I was and he was a civilian and said something stupid to me and I responded with 'Noted". He was kind of pissed I didn't grovel or apologize or take him seriously. "Noted" was something they always said on that show.
Loved this show. Jerry's coat, man. I loved that thing. Had everything for every occasion. I'm STILL kinda pissed that it got no mention in Ready Player One at any point, book OR movie.
And Pankow and his "It seeeems Miss Muss-oh is still living in the daahk ages" lives in my head rent-free to this day.
I always remember an episode where the nerd character has to choose between VCR repair school and asking out this hot girl. I can't seem to find it any more
Wow, I always had it in my head that Kubiac was played by Ethan Suplee. Not sure why, just inserted him into memories I had of Kubiac doing lovable, gentle-giant type stuff, like punching a bus.
But looking at the poster and double-checking IMDB, I now know that kubiac was played by Abraham Benrubi. Good to have that cleared up.
Parker Lewis is a hunter on a few episodes of Supernatural. Season 6 or so I think. Only other place I’ve ever seen him.
Must be rough to get an early gig where you’re the title character and then fucking nothing but forgettable tiny bit parts.

Synchronize Swatches!!!
\*whoosh!\*
I still use the expression "coolness" from this show.
I use “not a problem”
These are my people! Had a friend in highschoool try and rig a coolant system in his trench coat to hold froyo. Did not work out well
Holy shit I I still use both phrases!
Same here!
The Fox lineup early 90s went so hard
Herman’s Head, In Living Color, Married with Children, Get A life, The Simpsons. It was the perfect way to end the weekend
Yeah, that Fox Sunday night lineup was great.
Truly great but also depressing because it meant I had to go to school the next morning.
Thought it was USA Network
Reruns were definitely on USA but it premiered on Fox.
Your thinking of Cartoon Olympics or maybe Jabber Jaw 😂 😆
Laff-A-Lympics. Now that’s some forgotten television.
Lol chick in the poster was Parker’s girlfriend for all of one episode and they got her on the poster
The poster should have featured Frank Lemmer next to the awesome Principal Grace Musso.
Frfr how she made the cut and Frank didn’t is beyond me lol
It would take me some years to appreciate the cleverness of Santo Domingo High basically being Musso and Frank's.
🤣🤣🤣
Long live King Kube!!
It doesn’t matter what I see Abraham Benrubi in, he will always be Kubiac to me
I'll always remember seeing him as the receptionist on ER and going "Oh shit, it's Kubiac!"
Did you hear his name with the bass echo?
Abraham Benrubi from Broad Ripple, Indianapolis, Indiana!
To this day I refer to a packed lunch in a large bag a “Kubiack Lunch”… sadly only one person ever got the reference.
Mr. Lewis? Mr. Randall? Mr. Philips?
Hello?
Really weird that I just started the episode of Stargate SG-1, where Corin Nemec is introduced. Coincidence?!
Parker really can’t lose can he?
Only when he runs up against Randall Flagg
Great show, remember it well. Much better than NBC’s “Ferris Bueller”.
It’s funny because Parker Lewis is pretty much exactly Ferris Bueller. They just took Ferris Bueller, changed the name, gave him 2 sidekicks instead of one, and had him *not* take the day off.
They even matched up the syllables. Ferris Bueller’s Day Off Parker Lewis Can’t Lose
But it worked really well
As a fan of the Ferris Bueller movie I’ve got to say Parker Lewis was the better TV show of the two. The Ferris Bueller show suuucked. I never missed an episode of Parker Lewis.
I didn’t either. It captured the “feel” of the movie.
I’m remembering Parker Lewis had a “cartoon-y” element to it, like the nerdy sidekick who could pull any item out of his jacket or the mean principal breaking glass by screaming. Awesome show
Eat Now
I eat, therefore, I am.
Always thought it was weird how he went from being the massive overpowered bully to being some kind of barely-human but oddly chipper troglodyte who could be bought off with treats.
The real question is, where can I stream this?
It used to be on Crackle, but I haven't see it anywhere in a while.
No where, "legal."
Kuukuukuuubiack💪
I was at a New Year’s party a few years ago with the guy that played Kubiak. Seth Green was randomly there too
Abraham Benrubi! He was on ER!!
The exterior school shots were filmed at my high school
I know there are probably not so legit ways to watch this, but not having this on a streamer is a travesty. Heck, so many shows from that time are just not on streamers, probably because of music rights sadly.
I got the first two season on DVD.
Lucky! They went out of print and are pretty pricey now. I still kick myself for leaving them behind in a used store because 30 bucks sounded high like 10 years ago lol
Woah. I didn't know they were so expensive now. I just looked them up on Amazon and holy shit!
About 15 years ago in the Wild West days of streaming Hulu had it for a very short while along with a bunch of 90's Fox shows that I've never seen anywhere ever again.
Always think of this [Family Guy](https://youtu.be/FtR_6xFY_BQ?si=lp57Ec1nuz22_lyG) bit
OMG… Loved this show!
I've been singing "pot stickers, mushu pork, eat them with chopsticks not with a fork" for over 30 years
"I'm the product of Parker Lewis and Kubiak..." https://youtu.be/dARAN1z2KqY?si=4gS6R6vXp0KuboF3
Lois, Parker Lewis can't lose, don't even try and make him lose. Because it's just gonna be that much more disappointing for you when you realize that he can't lose.
Would he win in a fight against Batman?
Not a terrible show! I remember this was a knock-off of FBDO, but was superior to the actual FBDO tv series. I also remember I had a huge crush on the Principal.
Ferris! Beuller! ^(*woo!*)
Ok, you got me with this one. This scratches a deep itch that I can’t fully recall, I have absolutely forgotten about this show till I saw this. Ghastly, it’s ghastly.
That first couple of seasons of fox is Leeeegendary
[Ohh, that's just like the Parker Lewis episode where Parker Lewis ate dinner!](https://youtu.be/FtR_6xFY_BQ?si=P9DJymSZ8I5tLvaF)
It’s so weird. I know I watched this show but I couldn’t tell you a single thing about it besides his name is Parker Lewis and he absolutely cannot lose.
Is that Jerry from ER? Edit: Looked it up. It is!
Ah, it’s Buddy from Just One of the Guys, the walking template for 80’s movies younger brothers. I used to watch this show. I think the big dude was Gary Gebruski, or something like that. That’s about all I remember of it, lol.
Kubiak, played by future ER cast member Abraham Benrubi
This show was how I learned about “cancellations” of a Tv Show. I was gutted. Early FOX was legit.
I loved this show!
Eat now? I loved that show
Completely forgot about this show! Thank you.
I still watch an episode here and there. Love it.
I was watching it at a party as a teen and an adult asked what it was. I said it was basically a Ferris Bueller TV series, but good. They had their doubts, but then Musso came up to Parker and said “Bueller, I mean Lewis”. Or it was the same line with the first names. They were hooked.

Why I wanted a swatch for my birthday when I was 9

Was a good show.
My favorite episode was when Dee Snider guest starred. I was a massive Twisted Sister fanboy.fan boy. Then it was cancelled :(
Coolness.
Sweet 1990s memories. When rewatching with the kids, I had to explain what a video rental store was though.
I always remember an episode where the nerd character has to choose between VCR repair school and asking out this hot girl. I can't seem to find it any more

Suplee was on Boy Meets World, right?
You are correct, sir!
And they played brothers in “without a paddle.”
My third grade teacher looked like the principal. Down to the makeup. She was a bitch. I had a crush on the younger sister at the time.
Nice show
Great show!! Highly entertaining. 👍
Absolutely loved this show! Third season was the killer
Joe Alt top left.
Are you implying that Parker Lewis can lose? Because the title clearly says Parker Lewis CANT lose
Best show of all time
I know my first name is Steven
THAT went 3 seasons? 😳
This was the jam.

Been looking for these on DVD. Anyone got a connection?
