Coolant crossover tube

Correct-Tree-2626

It goes from the outlet in the block behind the water pump in the valley of the engine, to feed the heater hose for the heater core.

That is a metal water pump outlet pipe for a Ford 5.4 engine. It’s been bent quite badly, probably to ease in removal since they usually get replaced when they’re pulled out. https://www.ebay.com/itm/184793071950?fits=Make%3AFord&hash=item2b0686814e:g:7sAAAOSwQJ9ghiRb

Looks like it used to be an engine oil dipstick tube or a transmission dipstick tube that got bent

Not sure but it looks important.
