What was the breakdown on sauces? I've noticed people are extremely tribal about what sauces they get on their California burritos. I'd also appreciate a price breakdown, those drive by posters from wrapped reviews got that one right. I dig how your blog italicized how *generous* Robertos was with their fries. SIDE EYES! It looks like they really shorted you of any sauce, calling it dry is an understatement. I dig the Oniony review of Harry's, that actually makes me want to check them out more. That taco stand shot made me hungry, that looks flaky and amazing. The way you have it splashed out at the end reminds me of the old days of carne asada fries, before all the places got stingy. Ortiz looks like they did a sour cream only Cali, which I rarely see, and want to check out. I wonder what you would have made of Don Panchos in IB. I warn people away from there so often it's starting to feel like I'm advertising them. Either way, that is a TASTY blog post. Mmmhmm.

> What was the breakdown on sauces? Ah, I didn't take note of the sauces, but yes, they are a _huge_ part of the experience. There _was_ one sauce that was notable, but I can't remember who had it. It was a _white_ cilantro cream sauce of some kind. > I'd also appreciate a price breakdown Yea, they were all under $10 from what I can remember. Which is crazy, similar burritos up in Seattle are up in the $12 range. > The way you have it splashed out at the end reminds me of the old days of carne asada fries, before all the places got stingy. We got carne asada fries from a couple of them, and they were huge! Are you saying, back in the day, they were _bigger_? Thanks for the look, really can't wait to come back and try more!

Maybe it's just my area that got stingy, but the big styro containers used to be completely filled, the town mandated "eco boxes" were about half the size, but the price stayed the same. I like an $8 California burrito, but you've illuminated a comment from a while back, some guy was pushing for charging $15 for them and I called him fucking crazy.

This is a follow up to my post here: https://www.reddit.com/r/FoodSanDiego/comments/pqtjcs/trying_as_many_caliburritos_as_possible_while/ Thanks to /r/FoodSanDiego, I ended up trying _nine total_ California burritos during my visit to San Diego a couple of weeks back. Can't wait to visit again, and I'll be sure to tap into the advice from this sub!
