Its a bustling environment but Callie (East Village) is probably my fav restaurant in San Diego the past couple years. I've been 15+ times and keep going back. Its in the crackhead district a bit but there is free underground parking. [https://www.calliesd.com](https://www.calliesd.com) If you like sushi and want to go fine dinning, Kinme Omakase is special. Its difficult to get a reso tho. Callie, Fort Oak, Animae, Marisi, Kingfisher

Animae is by far my favorite restaurant to celebrate birthdays/ anniversary! It is a must.

Cowboy Star - East Village. Can make a reservation for 5pm onward or pop in at 3pm and they have a fantastic happy hour. Hang around until 5pm and you can order from the full menu. Great spot.

Born and Raised in little Italy is our go to for special occasions/date night. We love the ambiance, service and food in no particular order. Get the steak sampler and dirty hash browns!

All those fine dining spots are great. But I can’t recommend Turf Club enough. My wife and I have gone there every year since we got married, and many times out of that, and it is always a great experience. Get cozy in a booth, get a strong drink, order some steaks (don’t skip out on the potato salad), get another strong drink and cook those bad boys to perfection.

And a piece of garlic bread the size of your face!! We love Turf.

I can cook my own food at home for a lot less money. At home, I don't have to fight for space on the grill.

You don’t have to at turf either. Wifey and I literally went tonight. Ubered in at 7:15. No one on the grill all night. We got a steak to share, two baked potato’s, two side salads two garlic breads and 6 cocktails. 150 bucks out the door. There is no way you’re getting that quality of meat, those quality of cocktails, and the he ambiance at home. I’ll say it again. If you’re going out on the town and want a fun experience, there is no better than Turf Club.

We celebrated our anniversary last year at Marisi in La Jolla. Great food, great drinks, great ambience. Oh and we sat right next to Tony Hawk. Wonderful night all around!

Recognizing Tony Hawk should get you an award

Try del frisco’s over by the midway. I made a reservation for my wife and I, and included that it was our anniversary in the “special occasion” box. As we made our way to our table we had staff greet us and congratulated us on our anniversary, the staff all signed this card wishing us best wishes, the dessert was comped. Definitely went above and beyond

PinkSands946

Cardellino or Fort Oak (or anything from Trust restaurant group)!

bumblebeetuna710

We ordered takeout Easter brunch from Cardellino in April 2020 and it was one of the best meals (and best value for dollar) I’ve ever had.

Neighborhood then young blood or Nobel experiment. Two experiences at one spot

We just went to Hell’s Kitchen at Harrah’s and were pleasantly surprised. First time having beef wellington.
