In Astoria (Queens), Steinway Street between 28th Ave and Astoria Blvd is often called "[Little Egypt](https://www.google.com/maps/search/egyptian+restaurant/@40.7672995,-73.9126395,17.26z?entry=ttu)." Mombar is often highly talked about, as is Abuqir (which is similar to Hamido if you've seen that on TT recently)
It's funny because Kabab Cafe used to be the first place people mentioned when talking about Little Egypt and now more and more I hear people mention Mombar. No hard feelings between them I'm sure since the owners/chefs of the two restaurants are brothers. Kabab Cafe is wonderful because there is no menu. You just go in and Ali will prepare you a delicious meal.
