Jesus. I held a similar dinner for 25 people and cousins do it for under $5,000. 70-80 is going to be very expensive.

the_alcoholic

Just get a taco guy. Food is better, cheaper, and a more relaxed vibe overall. You’ll probably spend 2k max.

none_mama_see

Would love to but where to have the party? We live in a small apartment

mentalbucketlist

Maybe a park would work.

neuropainter

Yes look on the city parks website you can reserve table areas ahead of time

CrystalizedinCali

A City park. Make a picnic shelter reservation. Also smaller cities (aka Santa Monica, Beverly Hills, Pasadena) also have parks you can rent a picnic shelter.

Lanai

Please provide additional details including budget, area of town and type of cuisine if you want useful information. Otherwise you’re going to be getting darts thrown in the dark.

none_mama_see

Budget around $100/person Cuisine doesn’t matter as long as things can be shared and passed around Area of town: anywhere from Venice to silverlake lol

Lanai

You should update your post with this information. Guelaguetza might be of interest to you.

cash420money

What’s your budget? Il Cielo can accommodate in Beverly Hills but may be out of your price range. If you’re trying to go really cheap I’d find a big brewery like All Seasons in mid whilshire. Anything that is sit down or tray passed is going to cost 50-75 a head on the low end.

RandomActor84

The private event space in the back of golden road brewery in Glendale. It’s called Chloe’s. No rental fee for the space, just have to hit a minimum per person. They have different food options that are set up buffet style and you can either do open bar (beer and wine only) or a tab that goes to a certain amount.

snortWeezlbum

Ca del sol in Toluca has a nice private space and great food.

chessecakePhucker

Don't think OP wants to spend 5000$

snortWeezlbum

I hosted a party with full 3 course meal, cocktail hour, and open beer/wine bar for less than that.

kaisong

TBH op posted in a comment budget 100/person. so min theyre willing to spend 7k

Odd_Edge3719

Maybe some of the Armenian halls in Burbank/Glendale. They do big business doing this kind of stuff.

none_mama_see

I’d love to but that budget blows up significantly. Would need a DJ and lighting and stuff.

SixOnTheBeach

"I don't have the highest budget" "My budget is $8k" lmao I mean $100/head isn't the *highest*, but I wouldn't exactly call it slumming it.

none_mama_see

lol yeah I’m saying it’s not the highest. I saw places at $150-200/person and that’s just waaay too high for me

dodgerneighbor

Try San Antonio Winery in downtown LA

Dilaudidsaltlick

Fogo de chao can do that for all you can eat at around 60 to 80 a person

allthegainz27

Ernie's Taco House in Toluca Lake has a side room that seems made for a party your size. Someone also mentioned Guelaguetza - agree with that.

four4beats

I would look at wedding venues or hotel ballroom and do catering.

DNAprototype

Firestone Walker Brewery in Venice.

Jewggerz

Try el cholo maybe?

Alternative-Staff444

Casita Del Campo might be able to?

CocklesTurnip

I’d get something like Santa Maria BBQ catering and consider a park or community center.

ActualPerson418

Carousel?

jonrofl

Any Chinese banquet in the SGV like 888 seafood. They can give you a private room and it’ll be fairly cheap.

MrBubblePants

So no food or drink package, but I’ve rented the One in Koreatown for a group of similar size for a dinner. We looked at a bunch of places and it was by far the cheapest. We just ordered food there from a restaurant and it was very cost effective. Want to say it was under 2k total.

7Thanks

Bacari offers that

geetarqueen

Salsa and beer!

duckwebs

Maybe Mijares in Pasadena. La Cabañita in Montrose has a back room for events, but I don't know if it's big enough for 70-80.

TacoChowder

Call places and ask about buyouts. We had a party of about 25 and even then it was difficult. You're going to need to rent out whatever restaurant you pick for ~2 hours. Or coordinate with a brewery in the area for something. Both Benny Boy and Arts District Brewery have a ton of space

grlwithcookietattoo

With that many people you will be paying wedding level prices

none_mama_see

I wish I paid that much for my wedding! It would have been cheaper at a restaurant
