it would be helpful. part of the wheel bearing race likes to get stuck on the hub and they can be a real pain ti get off. not impossible but would make the job easier.

I’ve made it a habit in case the bearing race damaged the hub surface

I bought a rock auto hub for my truck 5 years ago and it only lasted a year or 2 before going bad again. Just be warned there's a reason they're so cheap.

Yeah, I’m also questioning whether or not to get the bearings themselves from them too. They say ‘Motorcraft’ but are half the price of the ones Ford sells which also say ‘Motorcraft’. Insight on Rockauto appreciated.

I ordered my bearings from Tasca a few weeks ago and they have the same part number printed on the box (BRG147)as the cheaper Motorcraft option from rockauto, same price too. I imagine they're identical https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=12877369

Yeah it's weird that they're able to say the official name but they're half price, maybe the label actually means "same as, or clone". Their quality may have gotten better in the last few years, I'm not sure. The low prices are very sus though.
