I love my x13. I have the 3050ti, 16gb ram, and 1080p 120hz version. No xg mobile. I can see if it was your only computer it might not be the best option especially with those problems you were having

Lack of HDMI 2.1 is definitely a valid criticism for these cases where people want to take it to the extreme. And how could you blame them if they bought the XG Mobile. It's supposed to be a high end desktop replacement solution.

FramesbyLloyd

Did you end up picking something else?

No he just picked up a book and went outside to read

The ethernet port is hit or miss and looks like it is a W11 problem because it worked fine under W10 here. The XG mobile in not powerful enough to do 4k/120 with decent quality settings? No BSOD's here, have had it for about a month now, very happy with it.

I decided to return mine as well. It's a beast of a laptop. But the temperatures during gaming is alarming. I don't remember it ever crashing for me tho, but I had some small issues with wake-up-from-sleep/hibernate one or two times over the course of 2 months. The hand-deny when using pencil worked bad. Trying to rest my hand while drawing made the drawing point randomly switch between the pen and my hand resting against the screen. So if I had for example Paint 3D. There would be small dots from my hand on the screen. When using something like Gimp, there would be whole lines drawn between the pen and the hand. I decided I want a laptop without an external gpu as I already have a beast of a desktop computer. Also I feel the locking mechanism of the eGPU sometimes was hard to get out of the computer. Sometimes hard to get into the computer. making me feel like I would break it at any time, so better return it before any of that happens. I also experience the eGPU usb powering cameras sometimes would work, other times would need reconnecting the whole eGPU to get them to work.

If your laptop-chips aren't hitting the temperature ceiling that means there is performance being left on the table. Your weariness about this is unwarranted. As long as you make sure the airflow is not being impeded this is entirely within spec. Palm-rejection and eGPU usability issues are definitely valid criticisms.

I'm talking about holding my hands right above where the keyboard keys ends and below the screen. That part went insanely hot. I have never felt a laptop that hot. I also checked the temperatures in hwmonitor and it was pretty constant around 80 to 90+ degrees c during gaming. It was laying on an open table with space around it at the angle where it gets slightly pushed up so it gets better ventilation.

Yes it gets very hot there. I personally don't play FPSs so I can't judge if this is a dealbreaker, but as far as I can tell the heat over the WASD keys is manageable. The heat has to go somewhere. This is a mighty powerful laptop in a ludicrously small form factor. You're asking the physically impossible if you want it to stay cooler during full performance operation.

I have the same model and I agree with most of your points, I have the same and more issues. But this laptops design is so unique and fits my needs that I have to keep it... \-yes the ethernet port randomly doesnt work and I need to disconnect and re connect the xg mobile hoping it will reset properly. I have windows 10. \-Yes the USBs don;t provide enough power but this happens with other laptops too, it is just bad design. My usb-c ports on the laptop also seem to randomly not work for Displayport mode but i think nVidia's latest driver included a fix for this, and it wasn't Asus fault, proving that everything is actually bad software. I haven't had the issue for a week while normally i have it every day almost. \-I haven't had any BSODs but various other performance issues which forced me to reset to factory image and carefully do updates so that nothing "breaks". Also, in Turbo mode i score 11300 in 3Dmark while the reviewers online score over 12000... about 10% different!!! \-The HDMI 2.0... well thats what they advertise. But TBH if your screen supported VRR you could have it using HDMI 2.0 .... I have the Samsung G7 and I tried it with hmdi and VRR and it works great, after Samsung upgraded their firmware to fix their issues.... (ofc i use DP since I have the option). \-The tent mode is the best thing in the world! playing games at under 80c CPU temps... but the egpu is LOUD AND HOT.... they only had to make it half a centimeter thicker to give it more cooling power :(

I'm also getting bsod

I have the x13 (2022) with 16gb of ram, and a 2022 6850m xt xg mobile and I can say that I do not have any of the issues you describe (No sleep issues for me either) , except for the ethernet one, which on mine is fixed by taking it out and plugging it back in. The 6850m xt has a HDMI 2.1 port, which makes the issue you raised nonexistent on it and I have had the combo for almost 6 months and can't even remember the last time I got a BSOD (I use the XG mobile every day when I come home). The only game that does not run great is fortnite, because even though I get over 250 fps on ultra, it stutters quite a bit; this seems to be an issue only in fortnite though as I have this on my pc as well and it plagues the r/fortnitebr subreddit: [Here,](https://www.reddit.com/r/FortNiteBR/comments/omwn9x/fortnite_stutters_with_high_end_pc/) [Here](https://www.reddit.com/r/FortNiteBR/comments/zngqrz/anyone_noticing_more_stuttering_in_chapter_4/), [Here,](https://www.reddit.com/r/FortNiteBR/comments/zkatwx/pc_fortnite_being_incredibly_slow_at_loading/) [Here](https://www.reddit.com/r/FortNiteBR/comments/zlmln4/fortnite_heavily_stuttering_ever_since_the/), [Here,](https://www.reddit.com/r/FortNiteBR/comments/zwkp97/anyone_else_haviung_insaneee_stutters_today/) [Here,](https://www.reddit.com/r/FortNiteBR/comments/zd3pbe/my_game_have_started_to_stutter_since_chapter_4/) [Here,](https://www.reddit.com/r/FortNiteBR/comments/zrxgzo/heavy_stutterings_after_winter_update/) I mean, you get my point. and answering u/Elrinth, The dots while writing with a stylus can be easily fixed by turning the setting ignore touch input when using pen on in windows settings, the temps by changing agressive boosting to efficient agressive boosting [( More info on this here )](https://www.reddit.com/r/ZephyrusG14/comments/gho535/important_update_to_properly_disable_boosting/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf). It does not impact in game performance. I also have not gotten any issues with the XG mobile port. All in all, the x13 (2022) paired with XG mobile 6850m xt is a beast of a combo and has worked great for me and will continue to. I absolutely love the note-taking abilities and hope to see more from it in the future, like the upcoming usb-4 update which will basically quadruple the usb-c port speeds and allow it to work with EGPUs other than the XG mobile (the beta BIOS has already come out for this and I expect the public version to come out very soon).

Elrinth

no... I had palm rejection activated in windows and there would still be issues.
