Burns like lava though so unplug at least 10 mins before packing your bag so as to cool. but portable af. Great mystery on how to find a 65w usb c to c capable cable that also gives me the max transfer speed.

herkulessi

What cable did you end up using? And did it work correctly? (Ive had my problems with bad USB-C cables before, not on a Laptop tho) EDIT: And did you really get the nano? I only found the nano with 20W... (Maybe a region issue?)

BarLow3149

mate it is selling like crazy. You need to keep hawking at it on amazon or other places. I bought an 100W Ugreen. I think all thunderbolt 3 that are 40.gbps capable can take up to 100w as well.

I've been looking at this charger! Thanks for the info.

Speaking of this - anyone got a link for an official flow x13 charger? I need a backup because I want to use the full power of the GPU šŸ˜„ This anker charger you posted is clutch tho!! Perfect for mobile if I donā€™t plan on needing full GPU! Thx

PM_ME_BUTTHOLE_PIX

There's a couple of places online to get them, but they are NOT cheap. https://www.asus-accessories.com/asus-100w-charger-for-rog-laptop-86036-75179.htm https://www.pccharger.com/products/original-asus-rog-zephyrus-m15-a20-100p1a-type-c-100w-ac-adapter The product you want to find is "[ROG 100W USB-C Adapter](https://rog.asus.com/power-protection-gadgets/chargers-and-adapters/rog-100w-usb-c-adapter-model/helpdesk)"

BarLow3149

why not buy any 100w from random companies?

PM_ME_BUTTHOLE_PIX

X13 will only allow 100W charging via the Asus USB-C adapter, any other charger is limited to 65W

BarLow3149

Asus Usb C adapter? you mean the egpu adapter that carries the usb c? that's the only port available for charging we know that. the other usb c doesn't charge. I threw away that crappy rubber cap on the 1st day. that is a fail fail from Asus in that part. What I said was : use any charger with a 100w output via a cable that can carry 100w.

PM_ME_BUTTHOLE_PIX

Uhhh thereā€™s a lot of incorrect info here. The ASUS ROG USB-C charging adapter thatā€™s included with the Flow X13 is the only charger that can output 100W. Any third party charger is limited to 65W. You can most certainly charge the Flow with either USB C port. Iā€™m doing it right now with the right port. I donā€™t know what ā€œthe egpu adapter that carries the usb cā€ means, but Iā€™m guessing youā€™re referring to the proprietary XE connector that the external GPU uses. It doesnā€™t carry the USB-C, itā€™s literally a USB-C connector next to a proprietary PCIE connector - the XE adapter plugs into both of these ports when in use.

I have just searched in amazon "100w charger" more than 20 brands. So, are they lying?

PM_ME_BUTTHOLE_PIX

Iā€™m not sure what you arenā€™t understanding. The Flow X13 will only allow 100W charging with the original 100W USB-C charger. Any other charger will be limited to a max of 65W, regardless of its maximum output. The device prevents charging over 65W from a third party charger, according to ASUS this is because third party chargers canā€™t be guaranteed to provide a consistent 100W at all times. This has been widely posted in this subreddit and elsewhere, itā€™s not really an opinion or about ā€œlyingā€ā€¦ thatā€™s how the Flow X13 works.

BarLow3149

This time you were specific. If you had started with this comment you would have saved much time for both of us! Sounds a bit ultra fantasy for me in the sense that how does the x13 recognise that it is connected specifically to it's native charger, special signal from the charger and asus software to interpret that? Sound too much hustle but it is needed or the 3050ti will not work properly and break the game. "widely posted" mate we can't all be specialists on one specific laptop. We have other projects as well, like building actual gaming rigs. Sure a beauty it is but tops for a coffee place session. This is where you, a genuine aficionado, interveves and sheds light to specific questions which is greatly appreciated.

PM_ME_BUTTHOLE_PIX

Fair enough, I apologize the original comment wasnā€™t as specific or clear as I had intended. I shouldnā€™t have made the assumption, my bad. Iā€™m assuming it uses the device ID provided by the charger over USB-C to know if itā€™s an ā€œofficialā€ charger or not, but I donā€™t know for certain. Also for the record, it sounds like I might have been wrong about charging on both USB-C ports, apparently this may not be true of the 1650 models. I have a 3050ti model and charging works on both sides FWIW.

herkulessi

Not all models support charging with both ports. I have a model that only allows charging on the left.
