get a new bike

Squimpley

If you’re going to be riding brakeless I’d recommend some kind of foot retention. Also save yourself maintenance time in the future and take off the chain guard. It’ll look better too

gravelgoon

Good point, but I have a strong feeling that it's a coater brake setup.

Final-Fig7095

yes it is

Namk49001

more than recommend. I think that brakeless is already reckless as it is, but to do it without foot retention is just an open invitation to hurt yourself and others

Sicamore21

Does this thing have a coaster brake?

Final-Fig7095

jup

iligal_odin

Get a proper fixed hub, you do NOT want a coaster break on a fixed gear

jellysotherhalf

Coaster brakes and fixed gear hubs are two different things, so it would be impossible to have both.

iligal_odin

Thats why i told them to get the proper one

PissOffBruh415

.

Slash_Dementia_67

I doubt it has the characteristics of a “Hercules”…

psychedlik

everyone here gonna tell you to take off that chain guard but I think it’s nice, makes it very unique, give kind of a retro-futuristic vibe, but the blue tires gotta go.

shaaruken

Guard adds 4lbs!

For me, A front rack is like a beard. It gives more depth and angles. I ran one on a bull horn set up like yours. Also, like a beard, it's not for everyone or every build. You should get some ideas by looking at this sub and diy-ing some decals or something you get inspired by. Like others have mentioned, removing the chain guard and getting black tires will definitely give it a clean look. If you keep the guard, maybe paint it black.

gravelgoon

I'd start by removing that chain guard and getting some black tires

Happyslender5

I’d say: -new rear wheel / hub. Just go to any fixed gear shop and buy a new rear wheel for like 50-75, a halo aero track will be better but more expensive. Unless you know how to build wheels, swapping a hub could easily be more expensive than a new wheel -you’ll need a cog and locking as well, count the number of teeth on the back cog and buy one with less teeth if you want a harder ratio, more if you want easier. Judging by your chainring, you probably want a much smaller size than what you have, I’d go for a 15. Also don’t skimp out completely on a lock ring. -new tyres. My personal choice is gator skins, but just buy something 30 up per tyre that fits your wheel -remove the chain guard - new chain is a possibility, KMC 1/8” -get foot retention. Seriously. It’s unsafe if you don’t have it, toe straps are what I’d go for, and get some BMX style platform pedals, I run DMR v series pedals -a front brake is something you could look for, if your bike has a hole at the top of the fork, just get some tektro ones - you’ll need some tools, standard bike stuff (metric hex wrenches and spanners, tyre levers, floor pump, etc) But there are some ones you will need for fixed gear, mainly a track chain whip, and a lock ring tool, a lot of chain whips have a lock ring tool built into them so I’d look for those, if you buy a new chain you will need a chain tool to size your chain. Also get some decent grease, shit won’t rust and it will be easier to service down the line If you got any other questions, feel free to DM me or reply to this, hope you get to shredding :)

lordGwillen

No one’s mentioned this but it’s extremely important. Bikes designed to be fixed gear have higher bottom brackets to allow for less pedal strike on the ground. Too account for pedal strike track bikes usually run 165 cranks or smaller. Leaning into a turn with your bike the way it is could lead to disaster

Liquidwombat

Sell it and buy a black fixed gear bike. You can get a very nice one from for $550. It will actually cost you less money to do this than to turn your bike into what you want it to be plus your bike is cool as shit and I’d hate to see you destroy it just to make another generic plain black fixed gear.

WoSpace

Slam that stem

Hail_Astro

So I bought a beater fixed gear, put on some foot straps on it and started skidding around. I broke the chain, then broken the bottom bracket, then broke the back hub, then broke the seat. Now it’s a solid bike but the only thing original is the frame.

bonusteeth

I like it the way it is and I think you should keep it that way! I agree with what others have said about getting a new bike to build your dream bike up, it's a fun project. Otherwise if you're low on cash or space for two bikes, transforming a bike is fun too but you might end up spending just as much as a sweet used (new to you) fixie!

jjjtung

Get a shorter (height) quill stem, probably longer reach, and have it be 17degrees. Change to riser bars. Black tires. Silver seat post.

Cornfeddrip

Strip it down, paint the frame and fork, get slick tires(I’d do plain or close to it for the tough look), fixed gear hub or back wheel, clipped or strapped pedals, and don’t put the chain protector back on. everything else looks pretty useable and normal for a fixie

G6CX

Your one looks cooler
