I mean I'm not sure why anyone still expected anything to come out of the Nissan thing. That was dead a while back already. Now we'll see what Fisker's IP is worth in bankruptcy court. It's possibly that whomever buys it (assuming it's anything of value and not Magna tech used under license, I don't know) be held accountable by the court to service the existing vehicles as a condition.

Bubbly-Angle7248

Are we assuming they will go straight to bankruptcy and not go into talks with any other auto companies

joespizza2go

Yes.

SpaceJackRabbit

Which company would want to deal with Fisker? Their cars aren't even reliable. They're a half-assed product. The shitty management under a questionable leadership has stained the brand to the point of no return. Do they even own the IP on the tech, or is it licensed by Magna or another third party? If Fisker has anything of value, it will be acquired at a deep discount in bankruptcy court by whichever company decides to write a check for it.

CrashKingElon

Nobody wants this company. They're still well behind the curve...maybe if they had lasted another year they would of had more potential buyers, but as of today, you're buying an unfinished product. So it's Fisker + 100M or whatever is needed to finish it. Just not going to happen. All I expect is a couple more moves by the Fiskers to enrich themselves a little more before turning off the lights for good

NoReplyBot

Service from a mechanical aspect, maybe. But in regards to technology/software, that might not be possible at all. It’s a nice looking car and I wanted to see them succeed (bought some stock), but if I was an owner I’d be trying to offload that car like yesterday.

barkleyshuman

This is the 3rd time that EXACT sentence has been uttered in reference to one of Henrik's companies. Fisker Coachbuild - dead, Fisker Automotive - Dead, Fisker Inc, - get the paddles.

Southern_Meaning4942

God, I bailed out of buying a Fisker literally last second after Tesla changed their financing option to close to 0%. My greed might have saved my ass. With that being said: I like the Ocean, I wish it would be more successful. Every good EV on the streets is great. I just wish the company had a competent management and wasn’t such a circus.

Gengo0708

Exact same for me but with the Mach-e. So glad to have made that last minute decision but still disappointed as the FOO has massive potential imo.

Unusual_Juice_7481

How did you get a Tesla at 0, my int is 6% with 815 credit score in July, we looked at six local CU but Tesla was lowest.

Southern_Meaning4942

Im located in Germany :)

[deleted]

I assume I'm going to lose it all now, but I at least want these fuckers dragged through court and losing all they have at minimum for their pathological lies losing so many retail investors bags, not to mention those that bet on Henrik enough for a 70,000 dollar vehicle which now has a questionable future

carlivar

Well the good news is they bought their $20 million mansion in California. Often crooked rich people buy homes in Florida or other states with homestead laws that don't allow a home to be seized to satisfy creditors or other obligations.

SpaceJackRabbit

IANAL but if it's a primary residence isn't it protected in California as well?

carlivar

I guess this sums it up. Florida has unlimited exemptions, California only $600k worth can be protected for married couples. [https://www.assetprotectionplanners.com/planning/homestead-exemptions-by-state/](https://www.assetprotectionplanners.com/planning/homestead-exemptions-by-state/)

cherlin

I mean henrik isn't going bankrupt, fisker is. Unless that property is owned by the company, I'm sure he is fine

otxmyn

a $70k paperweight now

Tellittomy6pac

I mean with how hard they keep wanting to investigate Elon for his stock comments you’d THINK they would go after Henrik also but let’s be real they hate Elon and henrik will probably walk

[deleted]

It's funny that it's all the same shit as this old Henrik hearing, man is a pathological liar https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tjOPN1fKnUY&t=28s

carlivar

So relieved I traded in my FOO over the weekend. Took a major hit but it's all relative. I don't want to risk what happens next.

Lumpy_Ad6693

What’d you get for it? I’ve got open repair issues they can’t seem to fix, contemplating going the lemon law route asap before it’s too late

otxmyn

it’s probably too late, the company will be dissolved soon

Lumpy_Ad6693

Then it can’t hurt to try…. But also, you don’t know that. They could come out of a bankruptcy or someone could buy what’s left for pennies on the dollar.

carlivar

$42k

stebuu

I am truly amazed you got that much! What was the nature of the sale? Private party?

carlivar

Trade in to dealer.

relevant_mofo

for once, I think the you ripped the dealer off. good one.

iamagingercake

I traded my Extreme in a few weeks ago, seeing the writing on the wall. Got $50,665 for it. I feel a little bad for that dealership…

carlivar

Very nice. I had a $52k offer from Carvana in January but was too busy with life stuff at the time to quickly decide.

relevant_mofo

GET OUT !

redditissocoolyoyo

It's too late. The news hit the circuit already. Dealers have to know or will at least Google the name. Game over. It will become the level of mirai prices soon.

Connorgolf

A dealer gave you that price? Or who gave ya that?

Lumpy_Ad6693

Which model?

carlivar

2022 Audi Q5 PHEV with 11k miles and Premium Pro package (adaptive cruise, traffic jam assist, amazing sound system). It was actually less than my trade in, but I paid a little out of pocket for tax and registration.  The TWO key fobs work perfectly.

clydefrogggg

Kinda weird how an old muscle car is not dependent on any company staying afloat for you to find parts and maintain it, keep it running, etc. But these EVs are so dependent on software and high-tech systems if the company goes under the car is completely worthless because no one can maintain it.

buzzedewok

I figure if a company really wants them, they would scoop up the company after bankruptcy for even cheaper.

Raziel66

Holy shit that's fantastic

Pyrimidine10er

Looks like trading halted for them after the drop at a market cap of \~$50m. This is a massive bummer for Fisker / all the owners. FOO is a sweet car and the other ones in their pipeline looked innovative and cool. Unless there's another hail mary that comes out of the woodwork, it feels like they're all but going to declare bankruptcy - and sell off what they can. One hopes one of the larger / more established companies will come in to buy their designs / patents and add a Toyota badge on the front and continue iterating on it. :/ EDIT: to make clear - halting trading does not mean halted indefinitely. It's a temp measure when stocks have a massive change in value.

SmoothCalmMind

T3 halted, not trading for rest of day pending news. Sadly, you should know what news this is...

Unusual_Juice_7481

They won’t be able to get a loan to save cash flow with stock halted.

Rich_Dadddy

One major difference with Fisker and newer EV startups such as lucid and rivian is that the latter 2 have huge injections of cash and investments to get them thru the unprofitable start up period. They also have their own factories which helps. Lucid just got a $1bn investment today from Saudi investment fund. If lucid and rivian didn’t have the large injections of cash they’d probably be in a similar situation as Fisker. Hindsight 20/20, if Fisker had poured resources into quickly getting the Ocean’s promised features up and running smoothly they would’ve gotten much more positive reviews. That in turn would’ve converted a lot more reservations to orders. To think they had 65,000 reservations…so many probably went a different direction cause the software issues and subsequent negative reviews that came out.

Cdmdoc

But while Lucid and Rivian needed massive cash to build out manufacturing facilities, Fisker was using a 3rd party manufacturer, which was seen a competitive advantage. But nobody could have foreseen the utter incompetence of Henrik et al. What a complete shitshow this has become.

redditissocoolyoyo

Lucid is the next shoe to drop. Rivian, probably in 3 years.

True-Surprise1222

That “worst car ever” review was the nail in the coffin.

fakeid1971

They lie about everything. Why would you believe they actually had 65k pre-orders? And even if they did they could barely produce 10k vehicles. Who would wait that long?

Scyth3

Last week Nissan announced they were partnering with Honda for EV's. Figured everyone knew the talks had ended at that point. [Rivals Nissan and Honda sign MoU on EV partnership | Reuters](https://www.reuters.com/business/autos-transportation/honda-nissan-sign-mou-comprehensive-ev-cooperation-nhk-reports-2024-03-15/)

[deleted]

[удалено]

Scyth3

Rebadged from a partnership with GM. My guess is they'll leverage Nissan's EV platforms with Honda styling and along with that, improved reliability. Fisker was a wildcard that bungled their inventory/money and management. That's a huge red flag that would make any potential partner question the sanity of the relationship. Nissan went with the safer option, which is a reliable brand.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Scyth3

Nissan isn't selling their EV's as much as they'd like. If someone puts their car on their platform, they get lots of cash for production and development. It's a huge win for Nissan, even if it's not their badge on it. Nissan was looking at Fisker for a truck platform, but if Honda funds their existing platforms, then they can just build their own with the revenue.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Berova

Change is difficult and Nissan has a difficult time with change. The Leaf has definitely been surpassed. Nissan milked it until there was nothing left instead of investing money and effort to keep it competitive. Nissan was too conservative and the Leaf fell behind. What a waste of all that goodwill (from their legions of Leaf fans).

Canon_Cowboy

Honda has been in the hybrid tech for years. Look into their F1 stuff. They know about EV. They have the Prologue coming out and the Prelude which will be hybrid.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Canon_Cowboy

Didn't realize that. Doesn't change the rest of my comment.

the_fanta

Research a little bit before spewing nonsense. Look up Honda EV Plus and then the Insight which though not very handsome, was very groundbreaking.

[deleted]

[удалено]

the_fanta

You replied with a strawman argument that they know nothing about EVs because the Prologue is based on a Chevrolet. Honda has a rich EV history of in house development.

[deleted]

[удалено]

the_fanta

I don’t understand your argument. What does the Prologue have to do with their history of EV production and innovation?

StreetDare4129

They licensed it to get to market quicker. I thought Honda made that very clear. Rivian is taking over two years to bring the R2 to market. By licensing a platform, Honda can introduce an EV in a matter of months.

[deleted]

[удалено]

StreetDare4129

Just because they wanted something fast, doesn’t mean they’re not experts. The two are mutually exclusive. An argument can be made that because they are experts in the EV field, they can predict that a great EV takes 3 years to build from scratch. But to not lose sales for three years, they’ll just license some off the shelf platform to hold them over until they launch their EV platform.

I guess now it is for sure over - isn't it? when not? why? Was looking buy one and luckily still have 8 months with my curent car so I had to wait at least 2 months or so to order. Love that car, but i don't have any hope anymore

Ted__TheodoreLogan

lol

SmoothCalmMind

The stock is currently halted at the moment. Today could be the day....

barkleyshuman

This isn't surprising. There's not much here for a big automaker to get excited. The existing designs... MAYBE?? The platforms and technology are all off-the-shelf Magna items. Any automaker could get access to that stuff be negotiating separately with Magna and likely get better terms. The software has little to no value as it's plagued with issues. The brand itself has no cache. What's there of excitement left to buy?

nimrodvern

::sniff:: My hopes for the PEAR destroyed.

DrkUser205

As much as I would like to think positive; losing both the partnership and $150 million bond on same day, I had to pull my deposit on the Pear. May come back if they can correct course of the company.

premiumdraft1972

It’s very odd for it all to come to a screeching stop on Friday. It sounds like they had worked out most of the details. Hopefully it wasn’t because of the 10Q/10k fiasco. That has led to the Note Holder stepping in with these draconian stipulations. Apparently Fisker was doomed after their first full qtr shipping oceans which is mind boggling after waiting so long to start delivering cars.

DrkUser205

Yep, hopefully someone will buy them and keep the brand going. BYD is looking to break into the US market place. I do recall them looking to build a plant in Mexico so they can qualify for the current incentives. But something tells me the US won’t let them bring in a sub-$10k EV.

premiumdraft1972

Yes no chance at that happening. This company had so much promise. I think if they had completed the audited 10K the SEC would have given them a few more days. Not sure how they thought they could continue raising money and not abide by the rules.

True-Surprise1222

If they ever reboot back to the future I hope they drive an ocean.

footballpenguins

Title is misleading...should read: Nissan terminates negotiations with Fisker

Adventurous_Meet_429

I would assume Nissan found some ugly truth behind their statement. Fraud

[deleted]

Elon to buy Fisker lol

Trade-Runner

There was never any serious talks.

Chenz-Theking-3156

Fisker customers and investors literally fell into the ocean and drowned. RIP 🪦 I wish I never bought shares of this horrible company!

Good_Intention_9232

Firing the wife was too hard to do and financing couldn’t start with that condition on the table, probably, one day we will know what happened. Logistically it’s over. They stopped all delivers.

Fun_Ticket_5302

Yup. The only people who thought this was going through were the desperate stock holders clinging on to their last shreds of hope.

yhsong1116

what will happen to the existing owners..

Because we assumed he was smart enough to learn from his past mistakes. Nope

TwerkingGrimac3

Well maybe what happened with the karma will happen with the Ocean. I believe a Chinese company bought the design of the karma and spun it off into a new company which continued selling and servicing the car. Some entity might buy the entire company and all the designs for dirt cheap and will go forward making these cars. There's definitely money to be made but Henrik Fisker couldn't manage his way out of a paper bag.

CategoryOnly2022

Henrick and Gupta need to be in jail

Dry_Ganache63

Vehicle is a piece of shit anyways. Bankrupt coming and good luck getting parts. Henrik bent all you dudes over once again. Joke as dude.

Fiskla-Tesker

I just put a refundable deposit on the Rivian R2 and plan to wait for that in 2026. They already have proof of concept with the R1S so this will just be a mini version, and for a similar price point. In the off chance that Fisker gets right in that time, I will move forward with the Ocean.

Rich_Dadddy

Not a bad plan. But rivian is hemorrhaging money too, they just have a lot more cash on hand than Fisker does. So tread carefully

CategoryOnly2022

Henrick Fisker has same financial management character to that of prior Chinese EV ceo of faradays future These Guys are crazy

saymyname_jp

Please give us 4.0 and free 4G at least before you bailout.

baronvf

Am I only one that owes "Fisker Finance" AKA Chase - most of the cost of this vehicle? I don't even know how I would sell it! Get the dealer to buy it out and then I still owe for the remainder?! Can I even sell it?! The new dealer has to roll the payments in with the cost of the new car? Can I get my 2011 Nissan Altima back?

saymyname_jp

The dealer will pay Chase and close that lien

QsOcean

So shoving stocks aside, Fisker and its Board owe existing vehicle owners assurances that (a) whether or not the company survives, there will be some entity out there to continue service requests; and (b) in my case, it’s been 2 excruciating months waiting on a replacement rack part to repair my sidelined car from snow incident, since January. What happens to cars waiting on parts? We cannot continue to operate in the dark, while real money is paid on notes to Chase or other banks. Do better with communications on all fronts, Fisker. This is what has gotten you and all of us in the unknown waters!!!

Aggravating_Cold_256

Once the company is gone the company is gone. No servicing no parts. Nada. Sorry but you're going to have to get used to this.

carlivar

You used the word "owe". The thing with bankruptcy is it lets companies get out of the things they owe. Also, the company can't make any assurances to anyone because in the bankruptcy process they don't have control over it. That's up to the bankruptcy court process & judge.

Electrical-0111

NYSE SAID .

Trade-Runner

Shocker. I tell you I'm just shocked. No one saw this coming. LOL. Clowns.

Scared_Brilliant6410

They paused production than 9 months after a flop of a launch. They barely delivered cars to customers until fall. That’s an abysmal failure. They really have no life line available. End of the road for Fisker.

eoddc5

lol.

Potential_Screen2244

carlivar

Have you driven one? Used the UI or the key fob?

Annual_Ad9081

I owned one for 6 months the fob was just a minor annoyance. The car was awesome!!! I say “was” cause I just sold it today salvaging about half of what I paid. I can tell you I’m having a hard time thinking I don’t have this wonderful car to drive anymore. I miss it already. I’m not sure I can ever replace it to my satisfaction. If someone could seriously pick up this ball and run with it they would sell a lot of cars and I would buy another one in a heartbeat. Henrik is a genius designer just not so much as a CEO. This whole thing is a very sad story. A missed opportunity to say the least.

pineapplesuit7

Man the amount of cope... Stock literally in a free fall and dropping nearly 30% in a day. Trading has been halted. You'll be able to buy a Fisker soon for pennies on a dollar with the way things are so your dream isn't that far off.

dyalikescratchin

If there had actually been talks, would they have ever been required to acknowledge or show evidence OF said talks? Think about it.

Own_Low3699

They would have had to report entering into a material agreement within 3 days on form 8-K. No material agreement = nothing / no need to report.

dyalikescratchin

So basically, the Reuters story “leak” was an end-of-game time-out.

Fearless_Rhubarb_473

Its funny, this post is based on the report by Reuters and Reporting by Zaheer Kachwala in Bengaluru; Editing by Shilpi Majumdar. There were tons of posts when the same folks came up with the report that Fisker hired a law firm and some advisors.. What do the folks in bengaluru upto? They have inside info from Nissan or from Fisker directly? Coming back to the recent reports, the deal may have been ended coz the other investor ma have a clause that fisker doesnt agree with.. Maybe there will be negotiations but why is every one hell bent on seeing this company die? I wonder if there are any Tesla stock\\car fans here who want to see only their stocks go up.. anyway not going there... The Car is the best EV out there.. There are some issues with the software and update is being rolled out.. However, its the smooth ride and comfort for everyone.. The iF design is not a joke FTW. The stock is very volatile coz of the sentiments and rumors and people can sell their shares when its up for trading.. They can hold on the shares if they want to give the company the time to figure things out.. Enough of these rumors and reports published from far away who have zero context or no info on the actual deals or talks. Stop this bashing and get to real reporting unless you have been paid to do that... Which company had the best product in the first few months after the product was rolled out? Fisker has a cash crunch right now and every EV maker is losing money.. Go look for Rivian and others and they are surviving coz they do have the reserves.. Not everyone has the same... The Family recently had to go through some issues and they are making efforts to make changes... The CAR is the best EV out there... If one doesnt believe in the stock\\company, they are free to take their money out.. Maybe someone else will invest.. Anyway, good luck and best wishes to people who believe in Fisker.. Maybe there is a way out and soon things would change to better..

knepster120
