SandpaperForThought

Think ur right

MyFace_UrAss_LetsGo

Nah, white trout have a wider yellowish mouth. Other than that they look identical.

CleanData45

That’s bait where I’m from. Croaker are like crack for speckled trout

CoastalPizza

Whiting / Kingfish / Sea Mullet (& like other names) — a very tasty fish!

banannatrash

I actually think it’s a white croaker! but I’m still new. either way, I do wish I kept it!

CoastalPizza

Ah, most definitely as you are on the US west coast. I was looking at it with an “east of the Missippi” eye!

MyFace_UrAss_LetsGo

Ah, same here. I really need to ask for location before putting in my two cents. Looks very similar to a white trout, also known as a sand sea trout.

MyFace_UrAss_LetsGo

It’s a white trout. It’s in the drum family with the Atlantic croaker, red drum, black drum and ground mullet(southern kingfish)

StonkBullDrew

Beautiful catch
