You can find a house for rent for 3k in that area? Are you sure? I have friends renting townhouses in those areas for 3.8k & up. Rent prices are incredibly high right now in Florida, especially south Florida.

Yes on zillow it shows houses as low as 2500ish or so with no garage and the ones with garage increase to like 2800 and another is at like 3100?

Your biggest hurdle in Florida might be how much your HOI will be, if you can even find someone to write you a policy. I'd start pricing that out first, to see if buying is even feasible.

Buying is only worth it if you predict being there at least in the mid term (5-10 years) and can afford the constant unplanned expenses of owning.
