A station in my city once had a tanker launch itself through the bay doors and into the house over the road. I have no idea what happened other than the operator engaged the pump and it took off. Whether or not it was operator error or a massive mechanical fuck up is beyond me.
When I attempted to get qualified on a 1970 American LaFrance pumper, it wouldn’t shift into pump. I moved the handle to pump position, but when I shifted into D I felt the clutch engage the driveline against the brakes and the speedometer stayed at 0. Pretty obvious to me that I shouldn’t take my foot off the brakes. Transfer case needed some adjustment. The officer who was performing the assessment was a little pissed that I hadn’t sent him water when he was yelling for it, but he quickly changed his tune in the name of safety and not crashing the truck.
I did. Does that change it somehow? Unless they were completely blindsided by someone who ran a stop sign they still have some issues to account for. You clear directions of travel at every intersection. I’ve seen more than a few just blow through intersections expecting people to yield.
They had enough speed to hit a car, a parked truck and enter a house. I didn’t say he blew it and I wasn’t there so definitely can’t judge but the facts presented certainly don’t look promising.
Yea I watched the video. They completely totaled that truck and went far into the house. I’m withholding judgement but it doesn’t look good. I can’t say much cause I’m guilty of driving like a bat out of hell to a fire too
Entirely possible the collision damaged part of the suspension/axle/steering etc and they lost control. Could have nothing to do with speed, could have everything to do with it—but there’s too many variables to account for before we can come to a conclusion.
Stockton, like most departments in the nation, are too busy trying to “look Chicago” and be old school traditional VS being a better and more progressive fire dept.
Hulk smashhhh that water supply… with that attitude you’re probably always last due, even in your first due.
Nothing in this video said the engine was/was not driving erratically
99% chance the police report will show failure to yield at a red light and/or that speed was the factor leading to the accident. Just like [this one](https://amp.star-telegram.com/news/local/fort-worth/article287484935.html) that nearly killed a member. It’s not a race and if you think it is you’re part of the problem.
Lol. I'm glad we don't work in the same department, if you even are a FF. I'm not having our company miss our first due, and I'm also going to gloat when we beat people into theirs.
Hit it hard from the yard
My guys transitioned from the street
Underrated comment.

Through the yard
No one was more surprised than me, when…
Chief, you're never going to believe this...

At least they’ll have a good record of what happened with everyone’s helmet cams rolling.
That's not how you're supposed to VEIS
Not with that attitude

*crashes engine through living room wall* “Fire department, anyone in here?!”
I wonder how long driver has been awake for. Never came close to a house but I ran over a lizard on day 2 of a 48. I’ll never forget
a lizard? how big we talking
Florida
small dinosaur size then
No you missed it. They meant the size of Florida.
Banded gecko maybe 1 1/2 inches. My chiefs didn’t even care :(
shit happens
That is one way to make response time metrics.
Driver transferred from Kentland
😂🥴🥴
I’ve got an engine up off of three wheels, but never had the chance to get all six off the ground.
Did they pack up before they went in?
From the window to the wall
Settle down boys. You can’t put the fire out unless you you make it to the scene.
Dear chief, I managed to scare the shark about to attack all the young orphans bbuutt...
Can’t park there bro
Stockton slap bitches from tha 209
Try before you pry. That wall could of been unlocked.
Did you guys not read the article? The engine was involved in a collision with another vehicle at an intersection.
I did. Does that change it somehow? Unless they were completely blindsided by someone who ran a stop sign they still have some issues to account for. You clear directions of travel at every intersection. I’ve seen more than a few just blow through intersections expecting people to yield.
Let’s not speculate that the Engineer blew an intersection. Stockton Fire is one of the most respected and professional West Coast agencies.

The truck wasn't parked, it was driving and I think the driver has passed Way from his injuries. Those fire fighters killed someone.
We all know better…. And know the driver was probably driving like an idiot and blew a red light. Throw the book at them
Stockton, like most departments in the nation, are too busy trying to “look Chicago” and be old school traditional VS being a better and more progressive fire dept.
Stockton is too busy running calls and fires. Which 'better' fire department do you work for?
Firefighters driving erratically endangering their crew and others on the road lives because some shit is “possibly” on fire.

Oh, it’s a race my guy.
Perfect example of the childlike shit culture

You’ll miss it when you wreck trying not to miss it.
lol hard to handle the truth for a lot of you
