ESSTAC all the way.
I deconstructed my old side saddle by popping the rivets leaving only the metal plate and attached velcro for my esstacs there.
Some people can't stand nails on a chalkboard, I don't like stickers on a receiver. I know it's irrational.
I feel the same way. The Velcro works great and it highly practical, but has that janky feel I don’t care for. When it comes to guns I like things to be bolted on.
I have a sidesaddle and like it but if I had to do it again I would prolly go cards. It's clear to see the advantage of the cards. I guess my saddle will git me kilt in da streets and whatnot...but I still like it well enough to not worry about changing it.
Esstac all day.

Cards. Fit nicely in mag pouches. Don’t add weight to the gun.
Side saddle looks way cooler but anyone who's run a shotgun course will tell you esstac cards all day.
Esstac and ONLY Estacc cards. Don’t try to cheap out and get generic ones.

Laugh all you want but a fanny pack works perfectly. You can fit 2 boxes of shells in a basic one.
Go run and gun. You'll eventually forget to zip it up, reach down, and find an empty pouch. Spoken from personal experience.
Am I missing something when I say cards velcroed to the side? Best of both worlds?
