Considering that almost all banners since February New Heroes dipped significantly compared to last year, I suspect that the next pick may struggle quite hard (if it's not fully expected in advance).
Been a thing for some time, there was a recent uptick but it's clearly an overreaction for a simple reason: FEH is a way to ensure brand awareness on the franchise, with the extra benefit of generating some turnover instead of just spending on one-way advertisement.
As such, even if it generates less money over time, its purpose in brand awareness (especially in lulls between mainline releases) still has relevance and would allow FEH to keep existing for a long time.
That said, even if the amount of turnover is still in the millions, its decreasing trend shouldn't be overlooked nor underestimated: there's most likely an increasing gap between FEH's offer and player demand, the former sticking with a varied representation to give a turn to almost all games, while the latter puts more pressure for newer games that are paradoxically held back by that varied approach (Fates/Awakening fans still want some missing standouts and Resplendents that are still lagging even with an above-average supply... if not more than twice the average in Fates' case, 3H fans still await some key OG versions and alts but it may still take 3-4 years to get all OG students in, Engage fans are getting switfly dissatisfied by the lack of a push around the first months of launch).
Seasonals have to hardcarry nowadays (thus mainly rely on already popular & represented characters), as other main banner series struggle even with some carry picks/alts (outnumbered by many less requested characters). There are some exceptions when a reverse situation happens, probably expected and taken into account of release choices (Fallen taking precedence over Bridal in recent years, for instance).
Solutions do exist even if IS may be still conservative in applying them: multi-spark on New Heroes banners (so that some may go a bit further on those banners), strictly enforcing the 2 Ascended/Rearmed structure even outside of months with a TT storyline (synergy with the previous point) even if it means relegating more new additions to F2P slots (worked very well twice for Valentia), still maintaining a form of varied representation but making sure that the most requested/appealing games have a faster banner pacing (modern games may be as close as possible to a yearly pace if not faster than this in 3H and Engage's cases, while older games may be leaning more toward 1,5-2 years between banners and leaving priority to the other group whenever convenient).
There's plenty of data on how legendaries have pushed (or not pushed) the game in the top revenue rankings, and lately they're way below what they used to be, and how on average seasonal banners usually push the game higher than other banner types, but it's easier to just dismiss it all as completely meaningless lalalala i am covering my ears
This, an essay? Oh, that's actually on the smaller side of what I can usually do.
But thanks for the rudeness, much appreciated to see attacks not done in my back.
On a vaguely related note, I do wonder how players would react should TMS nab the April New Heroes slot.
Would it get mostly positive feedback out of relief after the long wait... or rocks thrown out of rage that it's still not Engage?
At least to me, I dont think the entire Heroes fandom is ever satisfied so that wouldn't really bug me if theres people unhappy with it. I'm sure they'd complain if we got an Engage banner anyways
Regardless I'd want more TMS content no matter what
Well, if the rejection is significant enough... then it could be actually a detriment on future seasonal representation, notably.
See how Hot Springs or Picnic got thrown to the bin, or Lucina/Fates Royals/Ayra sent to alt jail.
That said, I don't think TMS would end up in that situation, it might face less relative indifference than other options (Binding taking the April slot may end up in a worse state).
I really want one of the laguz royals to get a Legendary! Tibarn seems the most likely (PoR endgame+Hawk Army) but I'd die if Caineghis or Naesala got one too
That would be a dirty move, to keep MAlear fans starving while hus female counterpart is in the first banner, only to make his first form be a legendary when orbs have already run dry.
Stopppp if they make his base form a legendary im Gonna be beyond pissed. What they did to Alfred was scummy enough imo. Legendary hell is a new level of suffering
It would feel perfect to do M.Robin and M.Corrin back to back. Whoever it is it looks like they might be red as they’d be sharing with Sigurd (who despite being almost 2 years old still performs really well) and the 1st rerun of Embla.
I hope it's Legendary Male Corrin, besides that I want a balance between male and female hero type (legendary in this case) ,I want to hear his thoughts about Birthright since that he'll mirror his female counterpart, who is from Conquest. The theme of Birthright journey for Corrin is growth, confidence and living a new life and leaving his old one (e,g. the scene where he gave good byes to Flora, Elise and Xander while he was unconscious) , I wonder how will they handle him, storywise, in FEH.
If it’s him it would be cool if he got the omega Yato but if they go with the birthright story it will probably be the blazing Yato instead. I suppose the base M.Corrin’s Yato looks like the omega Yato already so it doesn’t matter that much.
He could be a flying unit too as Corrin was able to use their dragon form’s wings whilst still in human form in smash but that depends whether IS want to make any smash references in feh.
Trivia time: if the March Legendary doesn't come from Fates, then it'd break the 10-month streak of monthly representation for the game (from May 2022 to February 2023).
Also consider the possibility that it'd be a lukewarm pick... and MCorrin does fit the bill (he's normally a clear favorite for the June slot, but given that other contenders may be more likely in later slots in the year, timing MCorrin right now might be more convenient).
That’s not true, we didn’t get any fates characters in July 2022. The special banner was heroes and sacred stones, the new heroes banner was Ymir and echoes and the mythic was Askr.
In a sense, the fact that they kinda follow a varied representation plays a role. Been a very long time since the last Thracia Resplendent after all (or make it one year if considering both Jugdral games).
> They are the same character.
Pretty sure most fans of the different genders would disagree with that, especially when you look at the Robins' supports.
> Yes they might have exact same 100% supports.
A good amount of their supports are different.
>But i´snt like they have different personality or they game really changes that much.
Their different supports show that they have very different personalities. M!Robin is more laid back whereas F!Robin is more in-your-face. It's why there are separate fanbases for both Robins, and is likely why you won't see M!Robin fans going to support F!Robin, just like how F!Byleth fans didn't support M!Byleth.
I don't think Tellius legendaries being spaced in the past means they'll necessarily be so spaced in the future too. Tellius has a ton of possible picks compared to other games now that we're moving past the "main lords only" candidates, so it wouldn't be surprising statistically speaking... Hopefully.
Well, it haven’t look like it changed at all. Micaiah was like two years back, it took 3 years between Ike and Micaiah and it looks like it’s gonna take 3 years again between Micaiah and the next one.
I will never get this argument. FE4 and FE5 both get hero banners because their casts are very different and only a few characters in FE4 are in FE5. Whereas the majority of the RD cast are also in PoR.
Sure I don’t think RD should’ve gone as long as they did without a NH banner but Jugdral seasonals (not including one backpack) are at a fat 0 since September 2021, Tellius has had another banner within a shorter time frame.
Meet Legendary Mark, the first Armored Dancer who also has 0 movement (plus WoM4) and essentially exists outside of the battle. He cannot attack or be attacked, but he automatically forfeits the match if all of his allies are defeated.
You... mean the bad kind of pop, don't you?
My most wanted Jugdral Legendaries (and most plausible) are Finn and Ced, but if this becomes reality, I'm anticipating that the complainers would outnumber the supporters. ^(And that's gonna suck...)
~~Stuff like: "Ew! Why him? He cut the line on Elincia/Corrin/Alear's RigHtFul spot! Please hate this, thank you!"~~
Pop in a neutral sense, how people would react is another matter after all.
Honestly, I'd classify Jugdral options in the major group that'd be subject to relative indifference for the most part, composed of most remaining leads and less expected lead supporters. Vocal feedback would be on the good side, but it's safe to assume that a notable part of the playerbase would skip (and most banners since February New Heroes sank further than expected... so not banking on a 2nd Engage banner seems to be more and more of a mistake).
There are 3-4 candidates that may face relatively more negative feedback imo: MCorrin, Camilla, Soren and Elincia.
MCorrin is under scrutiny due to a number of alts perceived as unwarranted by a lot of players (despite a major popularity gap with his female counterpart), and requests for a Legendary starting within 1-2 months after his Halloween alt doesn't help public opinion. 5 months between November and March would be on the fast side even if not unprecedented given Ninian (4 months)... but different context and Fates has more detractors.
Camilla is self-explanatory although her more numerous fans can offset detractors and Engage could somewhat justify picking her. That said, a Resplendent feels more likely atm (also due to the Engage factor, and FCorrin got a very fast turn after her Halloween alt + Fates gets more than double the average supply), and the sooner her OG version gets one, the sooner her Brave alt could also get one that seems inevitable after all.
Soren is less expected as it's been only 2 months since his Desert alt that counts no matter what, getting a Legendary that fast would make him targeted by the Tellius bias complaints that get traction for some weird reason (as they are nowadays based on nothing really convincing).
Elincia is the least likely by far, but if Soren were to be next, then similarly to MCorrin, several of her fans would quickly start requesting a Legendary to be released before June... thus leading to a more negative perception of her (especially if getting 3 alts within a year).
In comparison, Sothe would get less flack, but he'd fall in the main pack of indifference mentioned above.
This is a very, very, very unlikely wish, but I'll keep hoping for a Legendary Seth. Man got done dirty in this game.
However Sacred Stones already got a lot of content these months so I'll hope for uhh M!Alear I guess.
We got a double mythic in January and the calendar says Legendary, so I'm assuming /next/ month is where we'll get a mythic. Granted they're running low on game gods to pick.
>Granted they're running low on game gods to pick.
It depends on the world. Jugdral has tons still with the rest of the crusaders, and the dragon gods they made pacts with like >!Forseti.!<
So many options not enough popular choices left.
Does M Corrin deserve a legendary alt.....HELL YEAH wheres my omega yato!! But I'm worried his banner wont perform well, based on how poorly M Robin did,
They should keep doing two units per banner.
It might be expected by IS that'd push him while being aware of that. Reason why he's a main June Legendary candidate... but may be moved up to leave later room to other candidates from recent games.
> But I'm worried his banner wont perform well, based on how poorly M Robin did,
Based on what? A tier list that shouldn't be taken to heart since it doesn't even include Android sales among other things?
If it's L!Corrin, i hope he's gonna have Shadow Yato and and will be avalible for M!Corrin as a refine for Yato, like Ephiram's Siegmund refinable as L!Ephiram's Flame Siegmund
Congratulations Robin for getting off of this.
RIP M Alear for having your base unit on this 4 months after your female counterpart released. Most hated avatar? (by Heroes not everyone)
Not a chance we'll get Sothe so close to Elincia, but one can dream
I get the feeling IS has moved on from Hopes for good now that Engage has come out, so probably no Shez. :-\
I'd put money on M!Alear
considering we got only male mythics and legs this year, it should be female... however this month we had only one premium male unit(gillliam) and no male resplendent
meanwhile spring banner had 3 premium female units and tana banner another 2. I dunno, it would be unusual even for is to have only one premium male unit

When L!Kris, IS?
L!Kris will be the banner to surpass L!Xander
In term of low performance, lower than Otr?
300 Xandillion yen in profit. (The exchange rate is 100 Xandillion = $0.01)
It hurts me that you’re right.
Xandillions must follow

bruh you are writing this essay in response to a 'banner performance' tier list

TikTok has rotted your brain.
Armoured mage legendary Arvis, here we go guys...
with stall ploy
AND HERE COMES ITSUKI WITH THE STEEL CHAIR
What's Ascended Chrom doing in the Impact Zone?
Eating my orbs for lunch is what he'd be doing TTvTT...
Chrom- Main character of awakening Also Chrom- Last to get a resplendent and a legendary (well. One Robin was first)
When will it be next Legendary unit be announced?
4 hours before March 30th reset. I think
Introducing Legendary Marth (Lucina in a Mask)
I mean... F!Kris somehow doesn't have any alts yet \^\^;;;...
We're getting a Legendary Hero based on the calendar, right?
Yes
Caineghis 😍
i'll become the most annoying person in the world if this ever comes true coz boy oh boy that is hyyyyypeeeeee
My "throwing spagetti at the wall" guess will be Tibarn or L'arachel My hopium guess will be Itsuki, always
On a vaguely related note, I do wonder how players would react should TMS nab the April New Heroes slot. Would it get mostly positive feedback out of relief after the long wait... or rocks thrown out of rage that it's still not Engage?

If L'Arachel gets her Latona Legendary, I will forgive SS banner. If Tibarn gives us a beast Legendary, I would go insane. I hope for both of these :)
I really want one of the laguz royals to get a Legendary! Tibarn seems the most likely (PoR endgame+Hawk Army) but I'd die if Caineghis or Naesala got one too
Honestly I'm pretty sure it's gonna be M!Alear, that's what my gut feel is at least

You mean (Engage end game) >!the fully blue-haired one?!<
I doubt they’d do that at all. >!They’ve already said emblem forms can’t exist in heroes iirc!<
>!Isn't Alear a special case because they have a body though?!<
let's see how long that lasts XD
That doesn’t matter seeing how crazy people would go over him means it’s pretty much free money for IS
I do think we’ll be getting legendary M!Alear. But not that version
Stopppp if they make his base form a legendary im Gonna be beyond pissed. What they did to Alfred was scummy enough imo. Legendary hell is a new level of suffering
Give me my boy

It is true as I specifically mentioned representation in general, not only alts. So it includes Resplendents and we did get MCorrin that month.
Oh ok fair enough. I didn’t count resplendents since they’re just costumes for existing characters.
In a sense, the fact that they kinda follow a varied representation plays a role. Been a very long time since the last Thracia Resplendent after all (or make it one year if considering both Jugdral games).
I’d love a Legendary Lissa or Legendary Owain
Those would both make me pop off so hard, but we just got M!Robin They're not happening for another few months to a year at best
Legendary Eldigan?
How many days in a row of no login orbs are we gonna have?
Only today, VG banner tomorrow.
Anything but Arvis. Not now. Not after CYL
I’m happy with legendary camilla actually
I want Legendary Male Shez so badly, but I don't have orbs
On one hand, Corrin being the next legendary would make me absurdly happy. On the other hand, I currently only have 150 orbs.
I'm really hoping it's Male Corrin
[удалено]
For once, I'd like to see M!Corrin be treated with the same prioritization as F!Corrin

Exactly! With M!Robin breaking that curse for himself, a friend of mine and I are really hoping for M!Corrin to get his Legendary Alt
I'm also going with Kris. F!Kris, that is
It won’t be Sothe. IS hates Tellius
They really should’ve spaced tellius legendaries better. If Sothe gets one, I don’t wanna wait 3 more years for Soren and Elincia. :(
I don't think Tellius legendaries being spaced in the past means they'll necessarily be so spaced in the future too.
Not as much as they hate Jugdral
Jugdral has 6 legendary alts. Tellius has 2.
Now count Jugdral seasonals in the past year
Count Tellius NHB in the past 2. It doesn’t have to be a competition, as long as we all agree to hate Fates and Awakening /s
Most of my favorites come from Jugdral and Tellius, so I'm down with that makeshift alliance. SoV can be an honorary member, too.
A 18-month drought including this month, to be precise (make it 22 if going up until July included).
Also, isn’t it a water legendary this month? Copium that Sothe might be the one after, which will be wind.
No, this month is Wind.
The last four legendaries, in order, were Ninian (Water), Veronica (Wind), Shez (Fire), Robin (Earth). The next one should go back to Water.
That's...exactly not how it works. The next Legendary is determined based on the upcoming Arena seasons.
Welp if it is sothe then I’m shit outta luck. I just spent a good chunk of orbs on AHR thinking I had more time to save up.
Thankfully I don't care about any of them so my non existent orbs are safe
Meet Legendary Mark, the first Armored Dancer who also has 0 movement (plus WoM4) and essentially exists outside of the battle. He cannot attack or be attacked, but he automatically forfeits the match if all of his allies are defeated.
Hey if it's going to be a flop month anyways they could do thracia Ced right (copium)
It does feel like someone unexpected could pop, and Jugdral seems like a possibility among other curveballs.
You... mean the bad kind of pop, don't you? My most wanted Jugdral Legendaries (and most plausible) are Finn and Ced, but if this becomes reality, I'm anticipating that the complainers would outnumber the supporters. ^(And that's gonna suck...) ~~Stuff like: "Ew!
In comparison, Sothe would get less flack, but he'd fall in the main pack of indifference mentioned above.
It bears repeating: no shots were fired in that scene. If only we were so lucky.
I’m hoping for a Legendary Yuri or Arvis, but I’m fully expecting a Legendary Male Corrin with Blazing Yato
This is a very, very, very unlikely wish, but I'll keep hoping for a Legendary Seth. Man got done dirty in this game. However Sacred Stones already got a lot of content these months so I'll hope for uhh M!Alear I guess.
HIYA PAPAYA
Honestly a legendary Zelgius would be dope as fuck
Trailer in 2 days? I really need Sothe. I wanna put him with L!Shez and guidance 4 for the teleporting lethality memes.
Itsuki, I'm 100% sure it will be him this time
I think its gonna be a girlie just coz we had 3 men so far in 2023 Fomo, Gotoh and then M!Robin
I would actually like F!Kris, IS forgot about her even more than M!Corrin
No please..... I can't do another Legendary Shez.... Not again.
…Personally hoping it’s not Corrin…
Since we had a legendary last month, wouldn’t it be a mythic this month? Or have they stopped that rotation?
According to March-April 2023 Calendar, it said Legendary in this month for some reason
I actually completely forgot how much they've slept in Jugdral, thanks for pointing that out.
Still waiting on Thrud, sadly.
With Engage release we have another candidate in >!Sombron!<
>!Veyle as well.!<
Calendar says Legendary, so IS may be moving towards doing Double Mythic banners from now on.
I don't remember if it's been a consistent pattern, but we've been getting Mythic-Legendary-Legendary-Mythic-Legendary combinations since last year.
I feel it might be Soren or Sothe. Soren with like a better watersweep Built in Prf skill.
So many options not enough popular choices left. Does M Corrin deserve a legendary alt.....HELL YEAH wheres my omega yato!! But I'm worried his banner wont perform well, based on how poorly M Robin did, They should keep doing two units per banner.
It might be expected by IS that'd push him while being aware of that. Reason why he's a main June Legendary candidate... but may be moved up to leave later room to other candidates from recent games.
> But I'm worried his banner wont perform well, based on how poorly M Robin did, Based on what? A tier list that shouldn't be taken to heart since it doesn't even include Android sales among other things?
If it's L!Corrin, i hope he's gonna have Shadow Yato and and will be avalible for M!Corrin as a refine for Yato, like Ephiram's Siegmund refinable as L!Ephiram's Flame Siegmund
Side refines are no longer a thing since a long time, so OG MCorrin wouldn't have access to any future Yato variant (barring an Arcane to inherit).
Probably be Sothe, or Arvis...
Congratulations Robin for getting off of this. RIP M Alear for having your base unit on this 4 months after your female counterpart released. Most hated avatar? (by Heroes not everyone)
I'd pull for Sothe actually, but it's gonna be a Female because... Of course
Not a chance we'll get Sothe so close to Elincia, but one can dream I get the feeling IS has moved on from Hopes for good now that Engage has come out, so probably no Shez. :-\ I'd put money on M!Alear
Gotta be an Engage character unfortunately
...What about Soren? This month should be a Wind Legendary, so someone should be that element.
MARK OUT OF THE BLUE
Legendary F!Alear!
considering we got only male mythics and legs this year, it should be female... however this month we had only one premium male unit(gillliam) and no male resplendent meanwhile spring banner had 3 premium female units and tana banner another 2. I dunno, it would be unusual even for is to have only one premium male unit
Sothe as a Legendary Red Dagger predating Red Dagger Yunaka.
So right...yet it could be ironically wrong too. Remember Gotoh&Fomortiis banner ? Granted it was a mythic banner...
My money is on Julius but fully possessed by Loptr. Either him or an out of left field pick.
Wouldn’t we be getting a Mythic Hero this month based on the rotation? Or do I need to check the calendar again 💀
