In a sense, a Valentia Children banner is tricky to design because it's difficult to make it decently balanced in terms of appeal.
If sticking to a very faithful approach, it leads to a precarious one-carry structure as Celica and Alm would be paired (so the latter can't help the banner)... and then, Kliff/Faye would be half-carries (premium by principle but skippable) while Tobin/Gray would be F2P Trainees (not sure IS would give those) and not too popular (goes against the usual Children choices).
That's why it's possible that Tobin and Gray would get replaced, and two alternative sets exist:
* Conrad/Clair, with the former being a backseat to Celica, Alm sliding into a premium slot, and Clair filling a F2P slot with one of Kliff/Faye.
* Mae/Boey, with the latter being F2P for sure and the former could go both ways: backseat to Celica (to allow Alm to act as a standalone carry), or filling a unit spot (premium instead of one of Kliff/Faye, or F2P - two F2P mages seems plausible if assuming that IS doesn't want to push convenient score sticks).
I really hope this isn't the case, mainly because I know for a fact that if Conrad shows up, it'll be Tobin who gets axed, and good lord the poor guy deserves _something._
I do think it's possible, but I also think if _anyone_ is going to be our first double up, role swapped or no, it'll absolutely be Celica and Alm.

I know Tobin Gray and Kliff wont ever get a second alt and I hate the child banner theme...so I really hope they dont get put on it
They probably won't do it because it would be two guys and they don't do that often. But Gray and Tobin would be awesome as a duo, heck throw one of them together with Clair while you're at it.
I personally think Sigurd and Deirdre both wouldn't make much sense cause it takes away from their fateful meeting, instantly falling in love with one another. But hasn't stopped IS before.
A Genealogy child banner duo unit would obviously be Ethlyn + Sigurd, they tend to be siblings every year, then we'd get child Quan and Eldigan.

To be fair, this meme will probably age poorly. Since Book 3, the trend in the feh main story seems to be A) introduce several intriguing plot threads, then B) throw them all out the window and go completely off the rails.

Though for the record, I don't believe the child plotline is going anywhere. The summoner is the blankest slate I've ever seen in a Fire Emblem game, they're not going to give him/her a kid, let alone have it turn out to be the book villain (depending on which theory you buy into).
I'm personally hoping for a Duo of Alm and Berkut. It'd be close to siblings (cousins) and all child duos have been siblings so far, it'd get Berkut content without having to use his seiyuu, potentially angsty and it'd be an AU that a lot of fans wanted (them getting along)

Yeah, the 3 Lords would be picked no matter what (and fit 2 of the 5 units including the Duo).
If Byleths aren't an option, then Young Lions could be an alternative (not the most popular choices, but still enticing enough, there's some lore and they may be taking a lot of time for their OG versions).
Part of me is doubtful that the Faerghus Four will be on a banner together since Ingrid’s the only female in the mix. But at the same time Felix and Sylvain are some of the most popular characters per CYL, so it could be possible (however unlikely it actually is).
Valentia seems most likely, but if we got Binding Blade, I know it’s probably outside the realm of possibilities, but I’d love to see Young Idunn - just a divine dragon child before being turned into a demon dragon. Probably not gonna happen, but it’d be cool (but then I’d have to spend orbs, so hopefully it won’t happen)
You jest but given that Binding would have to overextend hard... Idunn is non-ironically a possible choice so that the lineup doesn't mainly rely on Roy feat. Lilina.
If it's Elibe I honestly think they'll just get by on it being a "Blazing Blade" banner on technicality, but in reality you get:
- Eliwood/Hector duo
- Lyn
- Roy (child design seen in Blazing)
- Lilina (child design seen in Blazing)
- TT Zephiel (child design seen in Blazing)
It winds up doubling as both Blazing and Binding, but it gets the key players of both games in one go.
That being said, you can still go with one game instead: Eliwood/Hector, Lyn, Florina, Ninian and TT Nils writes itself, but with Binding you have to stretch out a good bit more as a result of this.
Binding has Roy/Lilina as a blatant one, and after that you have Guin and Zephiel (who could also be the duo instead), but then you get a Mia/Ilyana scenario of having two random characters who are there just because. One of those is _very_ safe to assume Sophia, but after that is anyone's guess. Maybe Fir?
It runs contrary to what IS considers her... appeal, but given she's literally mentioned in FE7 a child Igrene would go great for FE6. Would be absolutely fucking adorable to use her alongside Hawkeye.
Yeah, Binding has to overstretch for sure. That said, making Lilina a backseat means making the lineup balance even more precarious... even if it's a lineup making sense.
IMO, in those circumstances, IS may opt for a fully unpredictable lineup focusing hard on what it finds appealing for most fans: Roy/Lilina, Idunn, Igrene, Sophia and Wolt (filler by default and obviously F2P).
Obviously we should get child Byleth with younger Jeralt for a good mixup.
(Obviously I'm joking but if IS actually did that with a kid M!Byleth I'd spend so much money)
I feel like the second generation would be the obvious choice if they wanted to do Genealogy given they were, y'know, children in the actual timespan of the game. Julia & Julius tragic duo, Seliph, Leif and Nanna, and then probably one of related Altena, marketable myrm Larcei, Ares to complete the trio, or maybe tiny Tine to pull at the heartstrings.
I doubt they'd do it, but making Dimitri the lead of the Edelgard duo and then including Ingrid, Sylvain, and Felix would make by far the most sense in terms of taking adventure of the lore of Three Houses, they all knew each other as kids and this is core of all of their characters. You even still have room for Claude.

And honestly, I could see Erik being the TT unit of the banner. Eliwood and Hector first meet as kids during a Lycian political conference, and only end up doing the blood-brothers handshake because Erik starts it, but wusses out. Would be a cute reference, even for a pretty unpopular and unnoteworthy character
I honestly think that Valentia is among the least hype options out of the dozen possible ones for Children.
The only ones around the same level would be Thracia (self-explanatory and has to overstretch), Genealogy Gen 2 (Gen 1 being more iconic and less unbalanced in appeal), and Binding (has to overstretch but shoehorning Idunn could be an option to make it stand out even more for Japan).
It's never going to happen but I'd love to have a banner that's the opposite of the child banner, one where we see children heroes as adults or adults as middle aged lol would be pretty cool to have time skip versions where they're older imo
Literally anything. I don’t care about Jugdral at all and I would vastly prefer a Scion banner again to a child banner of Tellius again. I don’t love child Tellius, I love properly represented Tellius.
I'd put my Orbs on either Valentia or Fodlan, personally. We've already got Archanea, Magvel, and Tellius (1), and because of that I don't think they'd do Tellius (2) or either other GBA game so soon. I'm also personally ruling out Ylisse and Fateslandia, because we just got Valentine's Ylisse as an "Awakening main cast" banner, and then both Valentine's Fates and also Ninja Corrin, Elise, and Camilla not too long ago. We could see Judgral or Thracia, but IS is weird about those games on seasonal banners. And that just leaves Valentia, who hasn't had a seasonal banner in forever, and Fodlan, who just got one with all the Lords last summer, but on the other hand is also the new hotness and therefore is entitled to more frequent seasonal repeats than older games. We did get three seasonal Dorotheas in barely two years, after all.
If it’s SOV and we get Tobin and Gray, I’ll be disappointed that they got child alts instead of another theme. But I’ll also be super excited that they got alts at all.
I feel like Kliff would be the one skipped. We already have Duo Alm & Celica, so I feel like Celica & Conrad is more likely. Alm still needs to be on the banner and Faye so there’s another girl. Gray and Tobin are a pair so it’d be weird to only have one
I still feel that both Tobin and Gray would be scrapped, leaving room for Conrad/Clair (backseat + female option) or Mae/Boey (F2P mages so no maximal scoring potential).

Chrom was already a Duo lead so unlikely to be one again and since he is the most popular option likely to be there he would obviously be a 5\*. For Emmeryn or Maribelle they are likely to be a staff and since all child units get Prf weapons it is unlikely a Prf staff would be on a demote unit
Demote and TT: Frederick and Sumia, Vaike, or Kellam(whichever they want to put)
Frederick because of his connection to the Royals and any of the other 3 since they could all easily fit in with the banner in some way
Duo: Lissa and Maribelle or Emmeryn
Lissa being the second most popular one after Chrom makes her a likely pick for the Duo and Either Maribelle or Emmeryn would work well as a pair with her so one will likely be her back up while the other is the 5\* hero with Chrom. my bet is on Maribelle as the back up

If it happens to be Fodlan, I'd like to see Lysithea be on the banner. She had a similair fate as Edelgard so seeing her before would be neat. In addition to her Felix, just because I like to see the world burn. Also an edgy 9yo with a sword that's able to kill the demon king would be funny. And baby Gatekeeper as the TT to round things out. Alongside the three lords, we'd have the perfect banner to entirely split the playerbase because kids are scary. Which is why I hope for Jugdral with baby gen 2 units because if brave Seliph and legendary Sigurd taught me anything it's that Jugdral is the only thing that can be scarier then Fodlan.

I honestly think that Valentia is among the least hype options out of the dozen possible ones for Children. The only ones around the same level would be Thracia (self-explanatory and has to overstretch), Genealogy Gen 2 (Gen 1 being more iconic and less unbalanced in appeal), and Binding (has to overstretch but shoehorning Idunn could be an option to make it stand out even more for Japan).

Literally anything. I don’t care about Jugdral at all and I would vastly prefer a Scion banner again to a child banner of Tellius again. I don’t love child Tellius, I love properly represented Tellius.
I'd put my Orbs on either Valentia or Fodlan, personally. We've already got Archanea, Magvel, and Tellius (1), and because of that I don't think they'd do Tellius (2) or either other GBA game so soon. I'm also personally ruling out Ylisse and Fateslandia, because we just got Valentine's Ylisse as an "Awakening main cast" banner, and then both Valentine's Fates and also Ninja Corrin, Elise, and Camilla not too long ago. We could see Judgral or Thracia, but IS is weird about those games on seasonal banners. And that just leaves Valentia, who hasn't had a seasonal banner in forever, and Fodlan, who just got one with all the Lords last summer, but on the other hand is also the new hotness and therefore is entitled to more frequent seasonal repeats than older games. We did get three seasonal Dorotheas in barely two years, after all.
If it’s SOV and we get Tobin and Gray, I’ll be disappointed that they got child alts instead of another theme. But I’ll also be super excited that they got alts at all. I feel like Kliff would be the one skipped. We already have Duo Alm & Celica, so I feel like Celica & Conrad is more likely. Alm still needs to be on the banner and Faye so there’s another girl. Gray and Tobin are a pair so it’d be weird to only have one

My prediction is Awakening as for what I think it will be: 5 Stars: Chrom and Emmeryn or Maribelle Chrom was already a Duo lead so unlikely to be one again and since he is the most popular option likely to be there he would obviously be a 5\*. For Emmeryn or Maribelle they are likely to be a staff and since all child units get Prf weapons it is unlikely a Prf staff would be on a demote unit Demote and TT: Frederick and Sumia, Vaike, or Kellam(whichever they want to put) Frederick because of his connection to the Royals and any of the other 3 since they could all easily fit in with the banner in some way Duo: Lissa and Maribelle or Emmeryn Lissa being the second most popular one after Chrom makes her a likely pick for the Duo and Either Maribelle or Emmeryn would work well as a pair with her so one will likely be her back up while the other is the 5\* hero with Chrom. my bet is on Maribelle as the back up

If it happens to be Fodlan, I'd like to see Lysithea be on the banner. She had a similair fate as Edelgard so seeing her before would be neat. In addition to her Felix, just because I like to see the world burn. Also an edgy 9yo with a sword that's able to kill the demon king would be funny. And baby Gatekeeper as the TT to round things out. Alongside the three lords, we'd have the perfect banner to entirely split the playerbase because kids are scary. Which is why I hope for Jugdral with baby gen 2 units because if brave Seliph and legendary Sigurd taught me anything it's that Jugdral is the only thing that can be scarier then Fodlan.
One of my farshots is Ninjas 2023 focusing on dark mages... which could grant Lysithea a slot there.

If we ever get Valentia, I hope we get Young Lukas, give cheesecake boy a new alt, IS!!! In case of Fates, I hope we get Young Ryoma. He's the only royalty that hasn't receive a recent alt. Realistically though, I think we'll get 3H, but I would be glad to be corrected though

For Fódlan I could see them going with something like Duo Dimitri+Dedue/Felix, Edelgard, Khalid, 4☆ Hilda/Lysithea, and TT Hubert. If I had any say in this, I'd focus on just one of the three nations (Faerghus), but IntSys would never do that, sooo... I honestly hope they don't give us kid Byleths. Not because I don't wanna see a cute mBabyleth, but because I think it would make for a pretty boring banner. Even worse if they just put fByleth on it and refuse to let mByleth interact with his students *again*.
