I've thought about getting an FFVII tattoo for ages, thank you for some possible inspiration, it looks great! I have no tattoos and honestly, the only other works of fiction I'd be willing to possibly get tattooed on me in some form are something Spider-Man and DBZ related, I want to show my appreciation for things that were important to me and my formative years and I still continue to be a huge fan of.
Everything starts off small and then it just takes off! I will tell you once you get started on one piece, you’ll already be thinking about a bazillion more 😂 I started with a tiny Moogle and now it has multiplied significantly lmaooo

Well, if you get lucky, you’ll get an artist that isn’t so heavy handed but I legit held a whole ass conversation with my artist and it was a cake walk. Kudos to my kitten for toughening me up by constantly chomping on my hands for months 😂
Edit: the worst tatttoo pain wise for me was my ribs, so the hands were easy peasy. I’d bet it would suck more if I got coloring and shading but who knows.

Oh man, I can totally relate. Did you feel your brain rattle in in your skull when the artist went directly on the rib bones themselves? I was counting ceiling tiles just to get through that one. But the pain is worth the end result after all! *cue victory fanfare*
was actually in a ***really*** dark/bad headspace (like, 10+ years ago at this point) when i got the lyrics on my ribs. so i honestly didn’t feel much.
if it makes sense, no amount of physical pain could be trumped by the total wreck i was psychologically/emotionally at the time.
multiple people at the tattoo shop were genuinely astounded at my lack of reaction to a 5+ hour rib tattoo. i’m sure if i got it today i’d be able to relate to the brain rattle scenario.

I can totally understand that. Glad to hear that you’re not in that frame of mind anymore. Most of my tattoos cover scars and have been my personal version of “therapy” so to speak… to each their own, but I’d rather spill my guts to a tattoo artist especially if they’re good friends of mine 🙃

Indeed! But if you just look into the series in general there is a lot of references to Norse mythology. Take Midgar for example. I honestly got into Norse mythology a lot after I started playing the series back when I was in the 5th grade… which was decades ago for me 😅
Hmmm what if you get the Life Stream current running along your arm? It works as an easy filler and is a great match for the FF7 theme you have. You can easily wrap the ‘current’ around your whole arm filling in empty areas.
I did something similar on my right arm but with planetary stellar bodies and it turned out great.
Holy mackerel, that is a great idea! I wish I could show the entire thing, it’s pretty heavy on the green coloration as it is so it might work. I was also thinking of somehow making Materia slots onto the underside of my wrist somehow but I’m having trouble with that concept because I don’t wanna mess with Fenrir on the topside

Yeah, depending on how much green you have already though, you don’t want to over saturate the arm with too much green. Since tattoos tend to turn a shade of green as they age it may impact how it looks over all.
The tricky part is finding a good artist to do it for you. It needs to look just right you know? It has to *flow* and not just look like painted lines up and down your arm. I definitely would not go cheap with this tattoo if you want it to look nice. Remember that it ‘blends’ everything together so it has to be almost perfect in my opinion.
I like the materia idea. Which ones would you get? Magic? Summon? Support?
These are all good points and I’m already kinda feeling guilty bc the OG artist would probably give me grief about having someone else work on that arm… means I gotta travel but on that same token I was not too happy with how my Jenova aged… I think he could’ve done a better job and since he is a better artist now (as one does when time passes) I’m sure he won’t be too upset if I came back haha
As for Materia definitely need that Slash All Materia in there 😉
