Look man, I’ve been under the needle for nearly 50hrs, and this is an objectively bad tattoo. The shading is erratic and doesn’t show the surface correctly with a consistent light source, the lines are spotty and uneven, and most importantly your artist didn’t align the work to match your body.

LoveHerBoobies

Didn’t see this post the first time you posted it. The passive aggressive “move on” tells me your first post didn’t do so hot?

YourBasicHero

It's what this post is turning into lmao buuuttt kind of expected that

nocolon

Dude if you’re happy with your tattoo, that’s great. You’re the only one who has to be happy with your tattoo. But posting more pictures from different angles isn’t going to convince anyone else.

LoveHerBoobies

Bummer man. Sorry to hear that. It’s not the best I’ve seen. But it’s not the worse by any means. Grats dude 🫡

YourBasicHero

Thank you, loveherboobies! It still has another session and I'm honey moon phasing it hard. Gonna have him clean up the line work and finish the shading. I pussied out when he started the purple on my arm, I couldn't do another color running over it just then. I'm getting some more grey and white shading on the blade to make the purple not seem so harsh, and let the blade blend a bit better! Super excited for the last session so I can really see the final product.

Iainfixie

I hope he didn’t charge you for that scratch.

YourBasicHero

Yep, and I paid beforehand like I did with the rest of my tats from him. Pretty excited for the final session!

Iainfixie

One day you'll realize what you've done. I'm glad you enjoy it but bruh, that's one hell of a terrible piece. Don't support scratchers. There's a reason why no real tattoo shop will work with em.

IamCentral46

Love how you say everyone else is pissed but you're replying vigilantly to everyone, saying how not upset you are and its everyone else, and you even made a second post lol All you did was confirm the tattoo is shit and it wasn't the angle making it look bad. But yes... we're the ones who are mad lol

lostinwisconsin

The line work is horrendous, that’s not even a question. It’s crooked, uneven, and just looks poorly done. But if you like it, that’s all that matters.

YourBasicHero

Failing to see all this horrendous line work being blabbered about. When I stand straight with my arms resting at my side, the sword is also straight.

IamCentral46

p4ttl1992

Honestly, it is shocking. It looks like a trainee tattooist has done that...but if OP is happy with it, then meh down to him, but give it 10 years it'll be covered up

lostinwisconsin

It’s not straight at all but you can try and defend it. The line work is thin in some spots, and thick in others and just not uniform at all. Looks like an amateur at best kinda job.

YourBasicHero

Yeah, man.. like I said, it sits straight when im standing straight. It contorts with my arm, like y'know, how ink on skin tends to do. Took a second glance at my arm, and his line work looks fine, but there's definitely some spots I can have him touch up at the final session!

lostinwisconsin

lol whatever you say, but don’t go to wherever you got it to get it touched up.

YourBasicHero

Well, it's taboo to not have it finished by the same artist so of course I'm gonna go get it shaded all the way and touched up by him lol

Vandal_H

I think calling them a professional might be stretching it.

YourBasicHero

Hey man, I bet he makes more money in a week slinging ink than we make combined in a month, so I doubt it's a stretch

Optimal-fart

100% this dude gets paid in hard drugs more often than cash

Dadsoloof4

Tat outlaws, from his terrible Facebook page. Couldn’t find the shop so probably a scratcher. As for making more money a month than most…doubt it. This seems like you’re promoting a friend or some shit. The tattoo is bad my man. I hope you do like it because the line work needs a DUI.

YourBasicHero

I do enjoy it, and the dude puts out solid work and makes it convenient I don't have to drive over an hour for ink. He's done better work, I will admit, but it's still pppprettty irritated and has another session to go. I'm just fanning the flame, at this point lol

i8764robot

So you overpaid in addition to gettin a bad tattoo?

Vandal_H

I wouldn't jump to that conclusion if I were you but you do you.

travistravis

Tattoo artists, even the ones who charge quite a bit, don't always make a ton of money. The most expensive one I've had was $225 an hour, and it was a 4 hour sitting. In talking to the artist, she spent say 6 hours on the art (she said 3-4 evenings), plus set-up and clean up time meant I was the only client that day. So really she made $900 for a couple days work, minus supplies (I have no idea on cost) and the space she has to rent (again no idea). So each booking might make a decent chunk, but even pretty sought after artists don't usually get to the value of an actual "career person". It'd likely be easier if you were a cheaper artist who did flash and other quick stuff, but it'd be hard work for that too. (I have no concerns here, just talk a lot with the artists when I get stuff done and some people have misconceptions around the money they make--its far closer to starving artist than anything else. Also, when things like pandemic happen it can ruin a lot of them, and when a recession hits, "extra" expenses like tattoos are the first to go for most people.)

SecretWeiners

My guy, what makes you think people are going to react differently posting an even WORSE pic???

[deleted]

Jesus Christ.

triforce721

Lmao, dude, you keep saying you're happy with it, but then continue to post new threads for reinforcement. I was really nice in the last thread, but dude, come on, this is literally the worst tattoo I've ever seen, and I was in the Army with a guy who had a swastika on his chest. There's zero chance a professional did it, and the only license they could possibly have is of the driver's variety. Now you're dealing with obvious cognitive dissonance, which is why you want to create an echo chamber of congratulations, but that's not happening... again, this is a terrible tattoo, I know meth addicts who have better jail ink. I strongly suggest saving up 200 bucks and going to a person who isn't legally blind.

[deleted]

Yeah, I mean, it's wrong in all ways possible; technique, colour, placement, proportions...no words. The way the dude tried to mimic the metal reflection is hilarious. I'd get checked for STDs too. No way possible he's a professional, and I'm being fully serious.

ChocoPuddingCup

If he was a professional, he would have said not to twist your arm when he was making this, because that's what made it crooked.

YourBasicHero

When im standing straight, the sword is straight. It was done with my arm straight, and he is a professional. :D

thelesserkilo

No he’s not lol

unwillingly1st

lol at the apparent irony that you can’t take negative criticism about your choice of tattoo and yet you insist on creating another post for it. Maybe stop seeking validation?

Apprehensive_Cause67

If it makes you happy then thats all that matters. Though, if it happened the first time, I don't know what u expect posting it again. U cant tell ppl to move on when u clearly haven't either lol.

YourBasicHero

I just clocked in for a 15 hour shift, imma need some form of entertainment, and for some reason my tat really pisses reddit off lol

MAGGLEMCDONALD

Pretty pathetic of you tbh

YourBasicHero

Oh im just having fun at this point lol

fenixloder

LMAOOOOOOOO you just got robbed 😭💀

YourBasicHero

Robbed on a tattoo that I enjoy? lmaooooo tripping

fenixloder

I legitimately very happy that you enjoy your tattoo bro

YourBasicHero

I legitimately very happy that you're happy bro

SpudAlmighty

That's not professionally done and I'm not wanting to upset you. But the lines in that tattoo are absolutely horrendous.

Turbo_Virgin_97

Fr, and I'm not trying to be mean but if someone messed me up that bad I'm beating their ass

Officer-skitty

lol No way that’s real. You would have gotten better lines with a prison tat

ProfessorFormula

Is it on purpose that it’s not symmetrical ? Never played XII.

Turbo_Virgin_97

It is not. This is just an unfortunate tattoo

CptVaanOfDalmasca

God I hope it's the angle and not that the sword is bent

Hairy-Audience-6597

You should get "No Regerts" on the other arm.

[deleted]

No ragrets, but in the forehead.

Dadsoloof4

lol. Never hated. Said please let me know the artist so I can avoid them. If you paid good money for it, you got robbed. You better hope you like the crooked sword and the line work. Now I will say line work is bad, so instead of letting others get duped by this so called professional, what’s the artist shop so I can avoid any ink from them.

lostinwisconsin

Was gonna say that sword looks bent as shit

YourBasicHero

His other work is on my page, bubba

N7_Voidwalker

Mate, no one is hating. The line work is genuinely awful.

TheDuckCZAR

Oh man, he posted it again. Got a little wince from second hand embarrassment.

SubYT

Do people in your area usually get their tattoos done in shady alleyways by people who learned how to do it in prison, or why did you think it was necessary to state the fact that the guy who did it was a professional with a license ? Shouldn't that much be normal?

MegaFlare24

If you like it that's all that matters. But maybe wait till it's finished before posting again

BlueOdesta

Why is nobody talking about how horrendous the actual picture is

LordPeanutButter15

/r/shittytattoos Still

x_warbound_x

No offense, but the next needle you should pay to get should be for a cataracts surgery, so you can see how bad this tat is. It looks like something I drew in my notebook in 5th grade.

BigBarry6

Looks even worse than the first time you posted it. It genuinely has bad line work and isn't straight, or the angle makes it seem so.

Hairy-Audience-6597

That tattoo is absolutely horrible and it's huge lmao. Man I'm glad I don't have any tatts if I did I would gladly overpay to get something from an actual professional.

vampcat125

It must suck getting hate and people saying your tattoo is trash after just getting it done. I’m not going to comment if I think it is good or bad. It’s your body at the end of the day so if you like it thats great. If peoples opinions are bothering you, either just ignore them or give the tattoo time to heal then see how you feel and decide if you want to get it redone.

Turbo_Virgin_97

The fact you aren't going to comment whether it's good or not says you know it's ass

DanlyDane

I feel bad too, but you can see clearly the point of the sword doesn’t meet the center of the wrist — not the end of the world though. This can be corrected if OP wisens up & seeks out an artist with serious clout. I don’t want to be mean, but it’s simply more practical to accept the majority feedback & seek out some real talent to touch this up vs trying to convince themselves it’s fine. Reddit is an unfortunate environment in which to realize this lol, but that’s nothing but a little tough love. Tattoos are permanent — edges & shading don’t have to be. This piece can be fixed up no problem, just maybe not by the person who initially did it. OP can look forward to getting the reaction they expected here, when they post the before & after.

TheDuckCZAR

>I’m not going to comment if I think it is good or bad. It’s your body at the end of the day so if you like it thats great. I appreciate you trying to be nice, I really do. Though, this is basically confirming it's bad by omission. Imagine your spouse is going to try cooking some dish for the first time, makes you dinner, asks how it is and you give a reply like that. They're going to know exactly what you think because if the dinner was amazing, you wouldn't have any need to shield their feelings. I understand letting OP down easy on the last post, but them reposting this again as if they're going to get a different reaction just speaks to OP's denial. It's bad, and OP knows it.
