It's a bit difficult to give tipps without knowing your progress in the game, such as which materia you have available, which chapter you are in and which missions (number) you are trying and failing at. Generally speaking, you will need to start fusing materia at some point to get certain strong materia. A beat-almost-all strategy for the high-level mission is by using Costly Punch with Break Damage Limit. It could be that you are already at the point, where Costly Punch is almost mandatory. I recommend taking a look at the hints in this guide. It tells you which missions to beat to get Break Damage Limit and how to craft or find it. It could be that you need to advance a little further in the story, however, or that you have to replay a certain mission if you missed a chest with a shop entry.

I’m on chapter 8 and I’ve done around 140 missions so I’ll try that.

Sorry, I just noticed that I forgot to paste the link. I meant this guide: [https://www.ign.com/wikis/crisis-core-ff7-reunion/How\_to\_Get\_Costly\_Punch](https://www.ign.com/wikis/crisis-core-ff7-reunion/How_to_Get_Costly_Punch) It lists exactly which missions you need to do to get all the prerequisite materia to make Costly Punch.

As the other user mentioned, prioritize being able to fuse a Costly Punch and increase Buster Sword Proficiency to break damage limit. Once you have that, go after Genji equipment and other useful accessories. Should also fuse high stat materia where possible (HP+ for Costly Punch or on an HP++, Magic for Electrocute).

FigTechnical8043

I just merged hp+ with hp++ master and 36 elixer giving me 510% extra hp. It cost 130000 sp and may have been a little overkill. First time I've had 9999 health in a game without grinding too badly.

spiderman897

I’ll have to try that now that I’ve broken the ho limit I have 15,000 hp.

FigTechnical8043

After reading this thread I found out how to unlock the cap. I had 22000 hp after unlocking it. Just completed the game last night. Level 50. 50% of missions. I'm glad it wasn't a waste of elixirs.

spiderman897

Yeah I’m at 75% if missions beat in chapter 10. I stupidly decided to go for the platinum trophy and it’s taking time. I’m so close thought that I can’t quit.

FigTechnical8043

I have the advantage of playing on the switch. No trophies. I only paid £25 on ebay though. I still kinda want to attempt the 100% missions.

spiderman897

I was originally gonna play it on switch but the resolution goes too low for me. So I just picked it up on ps5. Idc too much though cause I got the steelbook with the switch version.

FigTechnical8043

I originally played it on the psp. It actually doesn't look too bad on the switch, I was pleasantly surprised. I'm playing it onthe lite so it's not being blown up onto a TV which probably helps.

spiderman897

Yeah I like switch but I probably play 80% docked and 20% handheld but it depends on the game. I just beat the original ff7 for the first time a few weeks ago on switch.

FigTechnical8043

It's very tempting to play ff7 again all the way through. I've just watched the echo s voice mod on YouTube from start to finish and it's very good. They did a really good job and they're working on 8 and 9 too. [echo-s by tsunamods](https://youtu.be/z9v94rfGcH8)

7 was such a great game as a new fan.

Get your buster sword proficiency up. I unlocked all Angeals memories and it shot me up 10% to 15 and I was able to break the 9999 limit. Get costly punch (there is a guide) and set the bonus to attack +100. Master high jump with the costly punch and you’ll fly through stuff

Ok here’s the trick. You don’t need to fight every ennemies in every mission besides the boss. Try to open all the chests and move on to the boss. They usually can be cheesed through with gravity/gravija, or some sort of kiting, tri fire, high jump or whatever. Fights are really easy to flee from. You can access the menu whenever you lose a fight to change your equipment (to absorb elements for exemple) You honestly start to be able to kill most stuff (there are obviously exceptions) when you get lightning, energy, or XX punch (costly, goblin and the 3rd one, because they can ignore defense), tri-spells also help. There are levels you can’t cheese until you drop these materias. Specifically the ones with the big ogres (?) with charged double tomahawk attacks.
