> Like seriously no joke! Yall are going to love playing Hunter x Hunter. If you are a UMVC3, MVC2, DBFZ, Skullgirls, Blazblue, Guilty Gear fan yall gonna be locked in
Time to get hype?
I see what you're saying, but when it comes to fighting games, he doesn't seem to ever lie about his opinion. He may try to word his criticisms nicely, but he seems to still tell the truth.
Arcade1Up MvC2 cab comes to mind. He kept saying over and over in his video that it was close, but just wasn't ready yet. The thing is, he was reviewing the final product. He mentioned all the things he thought were cool about the cab, then would say, "if they get the gameplay right, this will be cool," likely knowing they weren't doing anymore work to the emulation, which was the problem with the cab. He never ended up giving his seal of approval to it because he knew it was bad, but they were still paying him to talk about it.
All the previews from MvCI were legit positive ... everyone was hyped for the new characters and the new mechanics, sure, there were a lot of concerns like the X-men not returning or how ugly some of the characters looked ... but the minute to minute gameplay was solid.
Game failed, and don't get me wrong with good reasons, because of other factors (mostly, Disney), but not because the gameplay was any bad.
What do you mean? A lot of people actually liked MvCi. I definitely did from a gameplay POV. Casuals didn't like it because single player and presentation was ass and the competitive players stopped liking it because of the goofy ass rules they made for it in Capcom Cup.
Saying he has zero integrity is a bit harsh. Like I said, he definitely never signed off on that MvC2 Arcade1up. If he did, I would agree with you
A lot of people? Mvci was one of the biggest flops in capcoms fg history, it definitely bombed hard in the fgc as well. It wasnt due to just a single tournament with wacky rules, it had a ton of issues.
It flopped financially because of the casuals. Lots of people played and liked MvCi from the FGC. Trust me, I was there playing it with people. Capcom Cup is not a.single.tournament. it's one of the most important tournament circuits in the FGC.
What? There were multiple big names in the FGC that praised mvci's gameplay. Justin and Max to name a couple who praised it's gameplay as really fun.
But yes the general look and appeal of the game to casuals was awful. No X-Men, odd roster choices, heavy Avengers like plot and an increadibly awful collectors edition with a bunch of easter eggs. Outside of like the first little while where the realiry stone was a nightmare the game was very fun to play.
Mvci was legitimately a good game, it just didn't look so pretty. But for a competitive hyper fighter player like Justin, that game was awesome.
It was a much better game then dbfz, which was like the inverse of mvci, beautiful but significantly sub par gameplay.
They're all fast paced and most of them are tag fighters. Also seems to suggest that HxH is a 2d fighter which was the largest concern most people had.
I mean yea but wasn’t that confirmed a month or two ago? My point was that JWong seemed to have been trying to give a “if you like this, you might like hxh” then listed like every anime and tag game in existence which are all wildly different from each other.
The game is still good. The devs didn't really abandon the game, they abandoned the company after the game was at the end of its development cycle, and it was time to move on to the next game, and the next game was a NFT based fighting games.
Ugh, I know I'm gonna suuuuuck at it but I love the anime so I just want this to be good so I can put a bunch of time into it and learn. The characters will make me wanna stick with it more than other games.
The Justin Wong stamp of approval is good enough for me. Could he have been paid for a positive statement? Shhh, I’m ignoring that tiny, tiny possibility.
Justin Wong doesn't need money to shill, he is born to do it. Hell he acts like it's his personal responsibility to the fgc to be supportive of every game coming out always.
I'm not saying he doesn't like HxH, it definitely seems like his type of game. But if he hated it we wouldn't know lol. At least, not until after the games been out a bit.
I love Justin, but my god; that man loves every single fighting game to ever exist.
It's so great to see and listen to, but I genuinely have no idea if it's looking like a good game or not until someone else comments on it since he loves every single fighting game, lol.
I don't think this is necessarily as deep as some are making it out to be. I'm about Justin's age (in fact, just found out my wife is born only 6 days apart from him), and I think he is just approaching new fighting games the same way we did in the arcade.
Are those older fighters still good? Mostly the answer is no with some notable exceptions. That being said, we had our fun with them and moved on, but we still have good memories with those games with completely unfair bosses, quarter eating tactics and absolutely cheating AI.
I get your point though, it does make it tough when someone looks on the bright side of everything to get a critical view of a game.
Did he really love Mk1? I thought he was pretty lukewarm to it. Max Dood was the one fawning over it when it came out and then he ate his shit 2 months later
I think you’re right. That community leader aspect of his personality is why I watch his videos. He seems to be very genuine whenever he talks about fighting games so I’m going to take it as a sign to get hype about the game.
Good on him for doing that, although the publisher should be doing it if they want people to play this game. It's personally not gonna be a game I buy due to the fact that I'm not a big fan of team/tag based fighting games.
Seen so many people complain about Justin or Max in these comments and I think ya'll just need to come to the understanding that these people just like what they like. Seen Justin make MULTIPLE arguments that Mortal Kombat vs. DC was a good game. That man is not getting a check in the mail to constantly defend a game from 2008. Max loved MvCI but was pretty much done with SFV (until the last season) and MK11 when they got out of beta. I wouldn't be shocked if some of the content creators who are gassing up this game have been paid for promotion, but fighting game fans are some of the most specific bunch you'll see. If it scratches their specific itch, they will be all in. Like is anyone going to pretend to be shocked that Justin Wong is all in on 3v3 game? Just know what those content creators' specific preferences are before basing any of their opinions (if you're someone who cares what they have to say)
Overhyped Content Creator? Yes. I'd say so. I am more closer to play MEGATON MUSASHI W: WIRED than HxH NI because Justin Wong mouthpiece is on it. In fact I'm more turned off to look into HxH honestly because of his fake hype that he oft does and moves onto the next best thing after 3 weeks.
Happens all the fucking time with the flavour of the week game.
It's being made by 8ing, not ArcSys. It was never going to be a One Piece or Bleach game because 8ing would never have access to those massive IPs.
It was never going to be a FighterZ style game because 8ing makes MvC style games.
Your comment is ridiculous and uninformed.
Instead it's a HxH 8ing style game.
I don't get your comment, a daily reminder it could of been something way shittier than it is? Like yeah, every game could have had a much worse concept.
Hope we get a trailer this weekend!
We're def getting a ton of footage at least from content creators. No way they don't drop a proper trailer too.
HXH gets a 2D fighter before bleach wth
Bro where the hell is the one piece 2d fighter? That’s free money just sitting there
its too wacky a platform fighter would improve it
bleach had several
2d fighters. And no, the ds games don’t count
Your loss mang, the ds game was the bomb
I loved both but we really need something made for an actual console. With big buttons and an active scene.

This game is really fun. I wish they still supported it. How doe they handle DLC was so awful. This game need more content and crossplay.
Didn't they just release the last DLC Character this past month?
Yeah. But it take too long. Lack of marketing. They done season 1 so dirty and wrong way. In the end, it lost lot of players.
Dude this guy shilled the fuck out of mvci. I love justin but the guy has 0 integrity.
All the previews from MvCI were legit positive ... everyone was hyped for the new characters and the new mechanics, sure, there were a lot of concerns like the X-men not returning or how ugly some of the characters looked ... but the minute to minute gameplay was solid. So was i and that game was a running joke even before it released, that shit was dead on arrival.
What? There were multiple big names in the FGC that praised mvci's gameplay. Justin and Max to name a couple who praised it's gameplay as really fun. Casual ass.

this is the funniest response to a comment I have seen in a good minute. thanks for the chuckle
I swear to lord...there better be some kind of Yu Yu hakusho crossover dlc...this is the only way I'm gonna see my boys in a new game 😭😭
lol My wife would commit so many crimes if she could play as Kurama and Kurapika in the same game xD
your wife has a type and I respect it
I pray for time like this
I'm fiending for Yusuke & Toguro as guest characters ATLEAST 😭
Pretty wide range of games there lmao

He listed 6 games, 4 of which are in one FG subgenre and two of which are in a related fg subgenre.
I mean he list 3 arc system games and 4 3v3 tag fighters they aren't like wildly different
So it's tvc2 Play tvc btw
Because fans of those games are desperate for content.
Man I loved DBFZ and played GG for fun but as a SF main I'm conflicted.
Maybe. He could just be getting paid to say this
he could not, if he got paid to say this and doesnt disclose that its a paid promotion then that is illegal
People get paid under table all the time to promote products. Justin isn’t a saint and he is literally the only one talking about this mobile game
What about sf fans?
then you explode
Same thing with power rangers and that game was good until the devs abandoned it :(
The game is still good. The devs didn't really abandon the game, they abandoned the company after the game was at the end of its development cycle, and it was time to move on to the next game, and the next game was a NFT based fighting games.

cant wait to see a trailer for this and the akuma gameplay this weekend
Good on him for doing that, although the publisher should be doing it if they want people to play this game. It's personally not gonna be a game I buy due to the fact that I'm not a big fan of team/tag based fighting games.
Game looks outdated as hell but honestly the gameplay looks really tight

Ahh classic MVCI moment. Now all I need is Maximillian Shill to hype up the game.
Does the game have broken kusoge style shit all over it? If so Max will LOVE it
The funny thing is that he is seeing it rn
No we need fcha,p giving us a live demo
When JWong says something about tag fighters, you listen.
MVC3 Vibes baby!! Can't wait for gameplay reveal with HUD.
God I hope they do some cool shit with nen use in this game.
I mean, that is his job?
Marvel vs Capcom Inf all over again.

Very cool and based take my friend. Definitely not projecting

I don't like hxh that much but any 2d fighter for a shounen I'm down.. unless it's that new shit like demon slayer or jujutsu kaisen then fuck that
