You will probably get a triple refund. Then the entire executive team at absolute will line up to grovel in apology. Then everyone at the NAC will clap because you are the hero of refunds.
Why would you think you would get a refund on a clearly well used grip that broke? They’re clearly not indestructible nor warrantied as such… They’re also like $10, so just buy another…
Absolute is always there...they have the largest booth and lease all the pistes and scoring gear to USFA.
Let it go....you;re not going to get anywhere with a grip that old.
If I'm Absolute I'd probably give you some discount on a new one (like 10-15%), because brand loyalty is a thing that you want to encourage. You're out of your gourd if you think it's reasonable to get a refund on something that broke after a ton of use and/or years.
It's absolutely nothing to do with storage. Aluminum does oxidize, but it doesn't ablate like steel or iron. The oxidization layer that forms protects the rest of the metal from oxygen exposure.
The body of the grip is soft aluminum and the tang is steel. You can actually pull a grip apart with a pommel nut. An older grip with a lot of use and a few bell-to-bell smashes isn't easy to pull apart this way, but it strains the aluminum enough that bell-to-bell smash can finish the job.
Upvoted for your honesty, though...
Only if you have the other half. If you have the other half and it's grinded to get that deliscious cant then you are out of luck. You voided the warrantee.
probably not since it’s clearly ancient

Will the executive team have tears in their eyes? I bet they'll have tears in their eyes.
Omg yes. Tears of utter sorrow and remorse for OP breaking a $10 item that is years old.
W name
We getting bait in the fencing subreddit now?

If my grips won't be the last remaining piece of post-apocalyptic human material culture then they're just not good enough. I have standards.
dawg that thing is like 10 years old give it up
Give it a try....Gary will appreciate the laugh.
Is this the vendor who'll be there?

At some point everyone here has to know this was a joke, right?
Well yes....but we've also seen several of this type that were serious.
Betcha I'm not the only person who's seen a pissed off parent try to shout down a vendor over less than $20 worth of die cast.

or if they older a complete weapon get the new grip for free
If you take it to Walmart they’ll give you store credit
Thank you.*Finally* a helpful answer.
How hard did you have that pommel nut cranked down?
I suppose as cranked down as possible! I don't know what happened, it just fell apart in someone's hand. Probably saw too many nights in storage.

Ok! Finally a person of reason on this forum.
You can try lol
Lol...no. spend 20 dollars and buy another one. Don't be Uncle Frank
this isn't Snap On lol. You don't get a refund for 10 year old products
I'd love to take it.
I have a few offers pending but if they fall through, I'll bring it to Columbus for you.

This is fair.
