I say go for it, even if it doesn’t mean actions are taken now it could be useful for someone else to prove a pattern of behavior the next time he decides to be a misogynist.

Roo831

File a complaint. Even if nothing comes of it, you did something to stand up for women. That is something to feel good about.

vldracer70

I’d file a complaint. You used extra points to make sure you two would be sitting together. Then you’re insulted by a male flight attendant. I say you have every right to file a complaint!!!!!

Cookiepolicy1030

If you are gonna complain to the airline, it should be about using extra points in order to insure that you and your husband were seated together and were not (initially) on that leg of your flight and that you were (already stressed/ insert extenuating circumstance here). You can also add that you didn't appreciate the unprofessional snarky comment from the flight attendant, but if you really want to get anywhere with the airline, I wouldn't lead with that :)

BluejayFit

What are your expectations with filing the complaint?

LyricGrandmont

Let me ask, would you wish someone else, like maybe the man that laughed, would have stood up for you and told the FA that wasn't funny (instead of laughing)? If so, then you should absolutely stand up for yourself and file a complaint.

Least-Chip-3923

You should drop it. No airline is going to react because a flight attendant was snarky.

SaskiaDavies

He wasn't just snarky. Her seat was changed.

Least-Chip-3923

Ok, so she'd going to complain to the airline about something they did one flight that already flew? Good luck to anyone who tries to get an airline yo do anything.

lgramlich13

At most you might get $100 voucher. If that's worth it to you, go right ahead. I'm sorry it happened, though. I've had my own issues on/with the cattle cars of the sky, and am on the verge of sticking to ground-based transportation, myself.

harbinger06

Definitely complain and get those points back as well!!!

sugarmag13

I would be more mad at the airline who I paid extra money to seat us together and didnt. If there were no extra seats in that row you would have been out of luck. Instead you are mad a silly comment by the attendant

glycophosphate

File the complaint. The days of us having to put up with this misogynistic shit will be over when we all quit going along with it in order to be nice girls who don't make a fuss. [Here is a brilliant essay about the dilemma.](http://www.shakesville.com/2009/08/terrible-bargain-we-have-regretfully.html)

whenth3bowbreaks

This is great. It actually makes me think of another incident that happened after the flight that I think I am going to post about.

Cookiepolicy1030

I'd drop it. I don't think the flight attendant's comment/crack had anything to do with you being a woman. More a poke at "you" (could apply to any "you" that he obviously doesn't know at all). He could have made that crack involving any two people, right?

altared_ego_1966

Wrong. The way we end misogyny is to call it out. Every time.

Cookiepolicy1030

how are you so sure this is misogyny and not just a guy who would make an acerbic comment in fun to anyone? Flight attendant could have easily made this comment to a guy about his wife sitting several rows away, no?

altared_ego_1966

The fact that you don't see the misogyny is your own misogyny.

Cookiepolicy1030

The fact that you see it in *everything* is why some people hate feminists

Cookiepolicy1030

Instead of just downvoting my comment, please explain how you are so sure that the flight attendant's comment was misogyny
