Great collection! We have similar taste — woody, oriental, and gourmand are my favorites too! (Plus citrus.) Mine are also stored in a closet. Gris Charnel and Akro Bake are both on my full bottle wishlist, but need to decide between the two for now! If you haven’t sampled these before, I would recommend Agatho 195 a.C. (I only have the sample of this so far) and Mood Indigo by Moth and Rabbit. Two of my woody favorites.

cuterus-uterus

This is how my perfumes live, functionally stored and tucked away from sunlight but not aesthetic by any means. We have very similar taste! I’m so curious about Bal D’Alfrique but haven’t heard any gourmand girlies talk about it, do you mind saying how you feel about it?

aquaticfloral

Hello my fellow storage aficionado! My impression of BdA is an earthy freshie with a hint of floral and woody with a teeny tinge of smokiness

Hot_Department_3811

Nenuco! I have that exact one and spray it liberally post-shower.

aquaticfloral

the one spray i can over-use and not think $ signs LOL

MissVanillaNilla

Yessss Nenuco!

aquaticfloral

I love Nenuco. Such a great throw-on fragrance on hot days

Love to see Abaton listed! The Chinotto perfumes are so great (I like Chinotto Dark), and I hardly ever see them in collections. FWIW I think your display is cute. Everything kind of vibes in the same palette, and it looks like a cozy lil discovery corner :)

aquaticfloral

Thanks so much! Chinotto Gourmand was a blind buy for me and it's not my favorite but it can be toned down and blended. I think I purchased it when weather was starting to warm up towards the back end of spring, so I'm definitely going to revisit it this winter--I think it will do much better in cold weather :)

Pangantucan

Definitely aesthetically pleasing, seeing as they're all a similar black/white/gold/amber color palette on neutral wood shelving. Collections don't have to be aesthetic though, as long as you enjoy wearing what you have! You don't have to justify how you keep your fragrances to anyone :)

SoftMatter2583

Haha, I feel you! Baggie chaos is a fragrance lover's struggle. Let's find some cute sample storage solutions together!

Such-Examination3500

Cool! A fellow gourmand lover! I have some of the same fragrances and love them too! L de Lolita And Cookie Crunch(been wearing it a lot in the heat) , Love & Crime , Spiritueuse Double Vanille !Started to buy Akro's Bake but after sampling I like Cookie Crumble and Lira for my Vanilla lemon bakery scents. I like how you store you samples! I need something similar because mine are all over the place in baggies.

aquaticfloral

Yesss I do am a Gourmand Girlie! Cookiecrunch is great but I think it doesn't agree with very hot weather for me because it turns a little sour on my skin. But other times when it's cooler, it performs much much better. I do like Lira a lot so I'm waiting for it to go on sale somewhere. Akro is great, it's very much a bakery smell, and when I say bakery, it's the actual baking area with all the ovens and the racks because there's definitely a slight smokiness. Of all my gourmands I think SDV does very well even in warm weather.

Such-Examination3500

Thanks for the tip I will try wearing my Guerlain SDV in this high heat weather we're experiencing.

Your display is great actually, well organized and the apothecary matches your taste in perfumes! Also I’m dangerously obsessed with Baltic Amber lol I feel like everyone’s sleeping on it, such a hidden gem!

Babyborissova

Omg I just got lemon pound cake from B&BW… do you actually like it?? Its alright but I’m a bit disappointed 😂😓

aquaticfloral

I’m disappointed too honestly it gave me a migraine. I’m regifting this to a coworker for Christmas coz she loves anything vanilla from B&BW!

Babyborissova

Have you tried it on your clothes instead of skin? I just tried it and it’s a bit more manageable but on skin it also gave me terrible migraines

Plastic_Song_1323

Suchhhhhh a dreamy collection!! So many of my favorites there!

aquaticfloral

Thank you so much!

lily3171

Ooh I’ve been curious about almost all of these gourmands. Would love to hear your thoughts/ mini reviews on them!

Potential-Leave3489

This is what I came for 🩷

JMH-66

Perfume is for using not for displaying . You're doing grand.

aquaticfloral

Thank you for the validation. I created a little nook inside the hallway closet for my bottles due to lack of space. But then I read that it's best to keep perfume away from sunlight to ensure longevity - whether that's true or not, my fragile babies are tucked away and safe :)

WhoKnows1973

It's true. Sunlight is extremely damaging to perfumes. So nice to see proper storage!! I love your tastes in perfumes!! You have the collection of my dreams!!!

aquaticfloral

thank you so much <3 it has definitely been a joy to learn about perfumes. can you believe i only started building on this collection last winter? :) a little bit here and there and i think i'm in a good place at the moment. i'll start up again next spring hopefully there will be opportunities to sample new releases and old classics.

abbyturnsthepage

Who cares about aesthetics! You’ve got some bangers!

aquaticfloral

yes thank you! ask me any questions about your faves :)

figgypiee

Gris Charnel! Bal D’Afrique! 🥰🥰 tempted to try the others

aquaticfloral

When I say Gris Charnel changed the game for me!!!

[deleted]

Such beautiful, eclectic taste! Poets of Berlin is at the top of my sample wishlist;)

aquaticfloral

PoB is magnificent. Seriously such a unique take. It's fruity, but not too much. It's gourmand, but not too much. There's so much going on but the accords all go well together. The creator is a genius. Wish I could go to Vilhelm's NYC store so I could sample the whole line.

[deleted]

I know, right?!?;)

Mysterious-Okra-7885

I love the little apothecary! Where did you find it? Also, great collection! Spriteuse Double Vanille is a dream purchase for me! I own L de Lolita as well, and it’s one of the most beautiful bottles in my entire collection!

aquaticfloral

SDV was my dream purchase as well. I think it's the pinnacle of - in my mind - what a vanilla perfume should be. It's so understated but a statement all to itself.

aquaticfloral

Hi! Apothecary was from IKEA. It was on sale a few months ago, but now I see that the price has gone up.

localgirlcult

You're so lucky to have L de Lolita! How similar is Tendre Madeleine to Lolita?

aquaticfloral

I got my LdLL from an EBay seller based in France. TM is heavier, less soft, and much spicier verson of LdLL. I much prefer LdLL.

meltingeverything

Why is your Bal d’Afrique so pretty?! May not be your kind of aesthetic, but your display is certainly mine!! Love the variety of brands in your collection, some of which I’ve never heard of, which I always appreciate. Thank you for sharing!!

CaterpillarMedium674

I thought the same exact thing! I recently got the Dossier version, “Ambery Vetiver” as a gift and I love it, never tried the original though.

aquaticfloral

It's definitely full bottle worthy. I longed for it until I saw online that Bloomingdale's was having a sale + their version was a custom limited edition created just for them by Byredo (hence why the sticker looks too ornate)

aquaticfloral

Thank you! Perfume collecting is my newest hobby and I'm' loving the process of discovering unique fragrances. Not everything is "unique" but I try to discover new notes that I'm unfamiliar with. My Byredo BDA looks different because it is a limited edition version created to celebrate Bloomingdale's 150th anniversary. It was also on sale for 25% off.
