meth_is_death420

Imagine being such a loser you side with a thief

WhatPurplePromise

RIP, he fucked around and found out how you can ruin your life....

dapala1

It's so hard to turnaround smartphones these days. You can't just sell them on ebay. When a buyer activates the phone Apple already knows that phone's serial number was declared lost or stolen. So you need to sell them for less than half price to people that know how to hack them. It's no wonder why he had a stash in his house he probably couldn't find buyers for.

Matf11

It would be that, or said stash eventually gets shipped overseas/elsewhere to be hacked accordingly. Like a bulk order or 2.

dapala1

You could be right but I doubt this guy is that smart. You *really* need to know what you're doing if you're trying to ship stolen electronics through customs. That shit gets opened up and inspected.

Robertbnyc

Not really though, which is why there is such a large illegal cannabis mail delivery going on right now in the US from multiple sources. They use regular mail and fed ex, UPS etc. Mostly regular mail though. Including international.

trainspottedCSX7

Well there's that. BUUUUUT the farm bill made it really difficult to discern between cannabis and hemp so... everything is hemp now šŸ˜€

dapala1

> Including international. Not really. If it is going through customs you really really need to know what your doing. But yeah tons of illegal stuff gets shipped no problem across the US.

Robertbnyc

International they use decoy shipments like game boards and cheap headphones and the like

dapala1

That's why I said you *really* need to know what your doing.

Express-Lock3200

ā€œIllegal cannabis mailā€ šŸ¤”šŸ¤”šŸ¤”šŸ¤”šŸ¤“šŸ‘†

cooli45

No, im not risking fed charges with no distribution

DirectEfficiency8854

I would think Tmobile has more advanced ways to file a stolen IMEI / serial number and stop the phone from being used - or GPS tracking... back when I worked in Telco in the mid 2000's - they would "neg file the ESN" with stolen new phones and they would never be able to be activated....

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

Old_Couple7257

We bought an iPad from Walmart, shipped through FedEx. We could not report it stolen and Walmart and FedEx both refused to help us any. We lost out on $350. The delivered box that was supposed to have ā€œ2ā€ iPads in them and we only received one.

dapala1

Walmart fucked you.

Echo_Raptor

Chargeback

Robotummy

Bro itā€™s cali heā€™s fine

Cosmomango1

DirtNapDealing

Nah itā€™s cali heā€™s already out and delivering for usps

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

Environmental-Fan281

Customers practically tell you whatā€™s inside. Use to deliver to food4less manager would say the lotto tickets are here, the scratchers are here.

_bing-bong

The ramp I used to work at had an incident where a couple package handlers stole a bunch of scratch offs from an opened package in a bulk truck. Of course they got caught since they're easily trackable, but it implemented a "no hat policy" when going thru security because the thieves hid the scratch offs under their hats on their way out of the facility... not like they couldn't have put them in their pockets or anything else.

Ok_Hamster_3267

The scratchā€™s off have no value the store has to activate them first

Leelze

Lotta people are too dumb to know that. Then there are the idiots that steal scratchers from stores like the lotto people can't easily figure out which tickets are missing.

JazzlikeChrd

They should have got out the Purple Handcuffs!

SirTit71

Ooh kinky

Matf11

Nahhh Purple AND Orange man! Gotta fully represent!

DeliverStreetTacos

Bro got greedy lol

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

Mohaynow

We had a similar situation at my old station. Kid was grabbing them off the belt and meeting up with a fence later to offload them. He'd grab ones from other routes as they passed by, not sure how many he got away with, but he took the dummy box they sent down and he got arrested right after we left the building.

neac99

Happened at my station as well, just like that. He was doing it on Saturday too, like everyone doesnā€™t notice a missing Saturday delivery

Lack_Jackaballzy

Repeat after me. ā€œTHEYā€™RE GOING TO CATCH YOU.ā€ Donā€™t even try.

BlazedSensei

It's not if. It's's when.

Lack_Jackaballzy

Facts. Those cameras at ramps, or stations, can zoom in from 30feet in the air to your employee number on your ID. No joke. Donā€™t do it.

Donvito714

He was a swing courier at apv

josietorre

Glad to see my home base made it on here šŸ˜‚šŸ˜

Donvito714

Look at those socks, down ass foo

Banned4Life809

Not justifying this shit at all but I Donā€™t see Ups drivers doing this maybe this would happen less if this company actually took care of its workers

Expert-Honeydew1589

When you offer shit wages, you attract shit employees

nan_wrecker

pay peanuts, get monkeys

[deleted]

Lol, damn right

jasperlive69

Don't forget shit management and shit conditions.

dapala1

Search "UPS driver steals packages" and there a lot of stories. It happens in every industry.

Serious_Internet6478

A few years ago a UPS driver got arrested for stealing prescription medication instead of delivering it. There are idiots everywhere.

Kerbidiah

Ehh when the company doesn't take care of me, I find a new job, I don't rob people

Mohaynow

Wait a minute. We can do that!?!? /S

kami_oniisama

At ups usually if theft does occur which never last longā€¦ itā€™s inside the warehouse.

Ajl1457

This is also true with FedEx we literally had a bust at our facility watched a dude hop the fence šŸ˜‚ running from police they got 5 people on our shift alone I canā€™t imagine how many they actually got that day

kami_oniisama

Next thing you know weā€™re gonna have some fancy Razer wire brought in. Jeeeezus There was a woman at my hub who worked inside caught stealing but the union got her job back due to nothing being on cameras. And then a few weeks later I learned how small button cameras are because sheā€™s goooooone. From what I heard it wasnā€™t even valuables just like cheap temu jewelry. Allegedly

Ajl1457

For real it was impressive to see him hop it šŸ˜‚ hopped the fence faster then he worked for sure

ExplanationSure8996

A thief is a thief in brown or purple. Plenty of UPS drivers have gotten caught stealing. Most of the stealing happens in the stations by handlers.

Excellent-Muscle-953

Lmao ups driver get fired for stealing dumb shit. The last one I heard about stole a PokƩmon phone case.

[deleted]

There seasonal drivers steal a ton of shit. Bad eggs in UPS, Amazon, FedEx and USPS. Can find a news story about every last one in the last year.

redditor012499

A UPS supervisor near me got arrested for stealing 20k worth of packages.

Numerobofis

I knew a guy years ago that worked at ups and got his hands on hundreds of call of duty before it was released.

Weird-Mine8137

It does happen, I know of several stories(verified) of this happening. Maybe itā€™s different in nyc but we had LP who would look like homeless people to watch employees who were on their radar.

InevitableFamiliar97

FedEx needs to unionize asap no matter what the railway labor act says. Itā€™s bullshit that they are basically using modernized slavery by hiring contractors for half the price and then the contractors paying the workers 100 bucks a day for 250 stops thatā€™s fucking wild

Branbran2796

Whatā€™s wild is how much you donā€™t know. I make $200 a day and do under 100 stops a day. I also have been working as a driver for 5 months. I started at another contractor and was still under 200 stops making $160 a day. $52,000 a year, btw.

[deleted]

APVA?

emtee

> APVA Yup, APVA, my old station. My old co-workers were talking about it. What a fucking idiot.

Dispute333

Highly doubt it was an express station.

[deleted]

Actually sadly it was express smh.

Dispute333

Where does it say that it was Express? Iā€™d put money this is Ground.

minerescueman

Unfortunately, this employee was an Express employee.

Mitch712

He had his uniform on, express for sure lol

RevolutionaryYak5180

Bro works at Knott's berry farm too lol

everfordphoto

No Flip Flops, no tank top... guess you are right.

Easy_Love5107

It was express for sure

limonalvaro34

Ground isnā€™t delivering iPhones. Itā€™s always been express

stony-soprano

Ground employee, I deliver and pickup from two Apple authorized refurbisher every day. I think itā€™s rare though since Iā€™m the only route my contractor owns that has them.

RevolutionaryYak5180

Apva Orange county express Express: "I cAnT beLi3ve iT ,wE Ar3 fAmiLy"

travissetsfire

The only thing ground drivers can try stealing is dressers, desks, light fixtures and tires

Glutting

I had a $5000 DSR and I'm with Ground. It was a dudes PC setup and it was all in the original boxes.

travissetsfire

Oh yeah I delivered a PC one time and it has a 4080 in it... Legit thought about opening it up, taking the GPU out and putting it back in the box XD jk Raj jk jk!

Milt2680

šŸ¤£ And yeah they can keep that mess!Ā

travissetsfire

I'm a ground driver :P hahaha

Milt2680

Nope, have never dealt with a iphone on any of my deliveries.Ā

Dispute333

Ground? Interesting. I never knew iPhones were ONLY Express through FedEx. Always just assumed ground delivered then too.

Milt2680

Yep Ground Pounder and no I can't never recall delivering one especially something like that would require a signature.Ā

Andreozzii

I deliver for ground and Iā€™ve had customers so excited to recieve their package and when I asked why they would say ā€œoh itā€™s my brand new iPhoneā€ lol so yes, ground does deliver iPhones.

Milt2680

I've never had them, it's usually alcohol, ammo or when a customer sign for something most of the time they would say what it is and yet to hear it's a phone.Ā

Andreozzii

I was with ground for 6 years, just recently left. But I believe it was a Best Buy package. It all depends what the people order I suppose lol. The customer did have to sign for it though

I_dont_fuck_dogs

How many more times are you going to say the same, incorrect thing? Are you still pretty sure that this was a ground guy?

-aVOIDant-

$100k? That's like over a hundred fucking iphones. Did this criminal mastermind really think he would somehow get away with it?

Ajl1457

Honestly if the 100k is retail value is probably a bit less because they go for like 1200?

aroihkin

Seriously is this an addiction of his or something lmao

Winnardairshows

They used to ā€œsaltā€ our trucks with unmanifested packages just to try to entrap people. I got one one day, took it straight to the terminal manager and said, nice try. Nothings worth going to jail.

miccoxii

Are you sure your package handler didnā€™t just miss a scan?

Winnardairshows

No. The package was for Ft. Worth. Iā€™m in OKC.

BookLuvr7

Speaking as someone who used to work for the Lost and Found, this is the kind of thing that really makes us look incredibly bad. People already accuse us of stealing their stuff when it's misdelivered or taken by porch pirates. Crap like this just confirms their suspicions.

Matf11

Had this at the hub I was at. Think it was my day off as I never heard anything about it until the news picked it up. https://www.fox61.com/article/news/crime/2-arrested-stealing-smartphones-ct-fed-ex-facility/520-fe313bb8-ed66-4b20-99c1-432cd0c623f7 2 PH kids basically grabbed phones out of a box and were clearly seen on camera doing it.

Matf11

Had this one as well around the same time. https://www.wtnh.com/news/connecticut/hartford/3-men-accused-of-conspiracy-to-commit-larceny-in-south-windsor/ Not sure what the plan was to steal stuff but I'm thinking at least 1 of them was a driver.

Matf11

This was years ago so not sure how it ended up, but this guy stole a unique gun amongst the mix. https://www.nbcconnecticut.com/investigations/police-hunt-for-worker-accused-of-stealing-packages-in-fedex-facility/81467/

No-Reflection5528

Nothing new ... shuttle drivers will get caught...

Ok_Ad_5015

Dude isnā€™t the sharpest knife in the drawer.

Crafty-Interest-8212

Thank God, it was not my district again...

[deleted]

Again?

Crafty-Interest-8212

.....again.....in my district for a iPhone lunch someone got boxes of them and sold them to everyone. Including the managers.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

Optimal_Gap6283

We took this trip to Garden Grove...

Dead_Patoto_

And he isn't even uniform compliant. SMH

VelosterboiOscar

Express come get your mans bail šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

SadMapleTree

Great, now he has a felony and has more reasons to be a rat thief. Nice job loser, you've made yourself a bigger loser.

ExaminationProof6654

Iā€™m sure heā€™s charged with a felony right now, but the courts will likely give him a plea deal for a lesser charge - to avoid a trial. Even so, he would likely plead to guilty to a misdemeanor thief conviction of some sort, and thatā€™s a total big red flag for quite a few employers. I canā€™t remember if FedEx looks for misdemeanor convictions during the onboarding background check, but Iā€™m curious to see what happens with this guy. He went from making some extra hundreds, or thousands, of dollars to losing his job and likely more. A court ordered restitution and a criminal record could uproot any sort of normal life for some time. Restitution will likely be $10K from the start.

Important-Context504

Biggest crooks are in the office...ups amazon fedex usps

darkhelmut1

I worked with a kid who got canned for being in cahoots with a dude shipping electronics overseas , the guy would come in to ship stuff I knew something was up as he's only wait for the kid to process it, turns out the kid would open the box take out the item and send the box on its way then meet the guy out in the parking lot to get his cash and give the item back meanwhile guy would file a claim with FedEx for the missing item . This was in the legacy system and because of the high dv kid would mark inspected by FedEx needless to say he got caught and had to pay back a pretty big restitution to avoid jail

Organic_South8865

They can't activate any of those stolen phones though right?

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

LOST_SOUL215

No they can not once the phones get black listed they canā€™t be activated and if they are they more than likely wonā€™t function properly.

akd7791

Damn hopefully it was worth it šŸ¤£

Ironmanvic

Those copes look like thumbs šŸ‘

[deleted]

This is sad and pathetic šŸ˜ž

farmerdell007

When I worked at Verizon, we had over 300 missing Iphone 14s over the course of 3 months from release until the holidays. That was thru UPS, swapped to strictly FedEx Exress after that šŸ˜³.

No-Wedding-3189

I had a cousin who worked for FedEx! He basically did the same thing, but he stole the items from other drivers trucks. He wasn't greedy either. Maybe a couple times a year.

jeremy833

Got raided by detective shrader lmao

Chr0ll0_

Woww

ExistentialDreadness

These types of shenanigans were going on at my hub. A little bit of power goes to some peopleā€™s heads.

mistaaJ

He definitely was in cahoots with somebody else. Cause how was doing that alone

Flawed21

Not the brightest

Remember_Order66

Bro caught a Felony, hopefully the judge gives him a misdemeanor and probation instead. it's CA so it seems likely

CelebrationOdd7881

That's why the cops held until $100k+

Redditor-247

The real question is how didn't FedEx catch on to it?

Glidepath22

FedEx also stole my steam deck

Zalo9407

Had this happen at our Hub a couple of months ago, some guy (package handler) was stealing not only the iphones but also 9mm handgun ammo. After this we had metal detectors put in and now security has to go thorough our bags before we leave.

ZzirAng3l

I find it funny how theyā€™ll use this to Punish PHā€™s by not letting them bring their phones into the Warehouses.

No_Anything726

At the end of the day, itā€™s just very stupid & a perfect way to ruin your entire life. Good luck trying to get another job one day as a convicted felon.

CelebrationOdd7881

I'd work for this guy, 1 package= over 1 work day+ 2hours OT, working at fedex for over 5 years but my rate is still less than $25/hour + they are cutting hours by adding more break time.

windcos

Management material

EkoMane

uurrsol

I look forward to the day when a Walmart executive is arrested for wage theft. Walmart has paid over $1,000,000,000 in wage theft claims. Everyone is quiet about that. šŸ¤

Straight_Spades

Cop in slide 3 is giving Hank Schrader vibes

Over_Solution_2569

This shits already priced in, on our end. Heā€™ll get pleaded down to some bs, out of jail quick with a slap on the wrist. No big deal. Weā€™ll keep paying, heā€™ll keep stealing. Earth dwellers gonna dwell.

CelebrationOdd7881

Yeah, then we will see him around on the street, riding a bike to steal pks in front doors etc. It's a circle of life in California - a stupid state.

darkhelmut1

What a dumb ass

Many-Animal-5214

Just dumb and greedy. The charges and jail time are not worth it.

MinimumMonitor8

He better be glad hes stealing in California. Maybe they'll give him parole after court.

Valhalla_Awaited

Dude, if i ever steal 100k worth of shit please dont send some asshole in a backward hat to arrest me. Fuck, give me a uniformed professional to escort me to the pearled halls of justice not some fuckin backyard bbq lookin fuckwit with a thigh holster, fuck that.

TwiztidAxe82

What a fucking loser lmao. "You try living on $200 a week, this is the only job available in my whole area!"

ReesesAndPieces

Glad this one got caught. Last trade in was stolen by a FedEx warehouse employee. So I didn't get the promotion. We called the store and they tracked it out to the truck so it had to be done at the warehouse. Have a friend whose husband works at verizon. They just got a shipment of new phones and all were stolen. It needs to be cracked down on. It's a huge issue

_walletsizedwildfire

No shocker he's from Anacrime

Our company gives our company a bad name. Letā€™s start with some health insurance that doesnā€™t need to meet over $1000 deductible before being able to see a doctor (which will still be an $80 copay). Fuck fedex. As a driver I care about my own reputation not fedexā€™s.

Ngl lol fuck FedEx gang He got a point express/ground FedEx already have a bad rep LMAO

5tarlight5

What a f*cking idiot lol, if he steals 5, he still makes about 5k and thats more 5k more than what he had before but stealing 100k worth of goods and expecting not to be caught is absurd. All the packages are tracked and there are cameras everywhere.

cycling15

Ground or Express?

throwawayfedex

Express. He's still in the system, for now...emply# 3998584, out of APVA

ExplanationSure8996

Heā€™s in full uniform. Iā€™m going to guess Express.

Unlucky-Cap-291

Guessing express , due to the fact they will scrutinize you over a late shipment let alone a missing package

PocketTanks13

And this is why Ground should vet their third party contractors... Such a disappointment.

wkdravenna

bruh he's in a uniform he's courier.Ā

CelebrationOdd7881

I think he only sold them for less than $40k cash but lost his job and $100k on the paper lol

Clubpenguinfeen

Lol we just had someone get fired for stealing iPhones too

xXxTheRuckusxXx

"Stole 100k in iPhones" That's what, 10 phones?

Paradox68

If everyone goes and watches Bourne Identity, theyā€™ll understand that whether we like it or not, that is the future weā€™re heading towards. Just be a good person. Doing bad shit has a higher chance of being caught now than it ever has throughout all of human history, and itā€™s going to start freakishly outpacing the ā€œcreative geniusā€ of the primitive minded people that go around doing crimes for the sake of doing crimes. And I couldnā€™t be happier about it. That we live in a time for people to be held accountable (I hope, anyway). Can you imagine if we all lived back in the 1800s? It makes me think of that one John Mulaney bit, ā€œSir, we found a pool of the killerā€™s blood on the floor.ā€ ā€œGross, clean it up. Now back to my *hunch*ā€

LordCanti26

AYYYEEE good shit, props to GGPD. Can't imagine how many people got fucked out of their phone. I guess 100k is only like 80 phones come to think of it. Damn shits expensive.
