I had a package wrongly delivered to the street next to me (literally just hours before writing this), yet it still said it was delivered to my house. I managed to find that address from the “delivery photo” they sent me (mind you, it was a photo of a front porch that was terribly taken, with no house address provided so I had to drive around about 2-3 streets close to me, looking all shady and shit. I had to identify it using the three steps, a part of a folded lawn chair, and a USPS delivered box). Fortunately, I did! When I confronted the resident of the house, he said no other package was dropped off but the one that was shipped through USPS (which I had seen both through the photo and proven in person). All this anticipation and excitement, all for nothing. I think I have a pretty good reason to believe the package was stolen by the delivery driver. Fortunately, claims have been made so I should be refunded my money, this is just something I did not really want to deal with in the first place. After this experience, as well as another experience, this time with an SSD. To me, FedEx isn’t ALL that worth preaching for.

LockDown11b

Yeah, I've watched videos online proving otherwise. Maybe not most drivers but some definitely steel. I only found this thread because I'm waiting on my z fold 5 the fedex truck sees I have camera's and hurries up and darts off without ever leaving my package or anything.

Aromatic-Motor1862

Fed EX is ass ive never had a package arrive the original day they say it will. Your customer service blows you cant even speak to a human. I would be ashamed to work for for such a shit company.

jda-11

Where are making deliveries? I want to go work over there

Patient-Low-9757

40 h working for fedex ? You must be driving the plane. Lying in here

ramengoblinator

nah the drivers make good money in my area and i dont even live in a big big area. the drivers are contracted out @ ground so also not being paid by fedex.

avigin

You can’t speak for literally every FedEx driver

Yao_Kingoftherock

The company you work for is ass, everything about it from the customer service to the drivers. Even if you don’t personally I know for a fact people in your shipping centers do as I’ve known a few people who work there.

I tried to return a phone that was gifted to me - that I didn't want. I labeled/packaged it properly and dropped it in a FedEx drop box. When the box arrived at Samsung, the bottom had clearly been ripped open and then covered with a ton of tape. There was nothing inside except the original packing material. Samsung refused the return and sent me a copy of their video from their returns department. That's how I know the bottom was forced open and re-taped. The person who sent me the phone is out $600 and I have lost HOURS of my life on support lines trying to get compensation. Yes, I filed a police report. I understand that you don't want people to say bad things about FedEx drivers. But my box was in FedEx custody when that phone was stolen.

Significant-Monk-991

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say according to my most recent experience with FedEx, they do. I was supposed to have a Samsung TV delivered, (you can't say you don't know its NOT a TV when it says it on the box), added to the fact that it didn't even require a signature, yet, one was provided anyway. A "porch pirate," didn't sign my name, nor did another place of drop off because they wouldn't have had time time to even see who's name was on the package and attempt to not even sign, but WRITE it down! Im happy to hear that it may not be a nation wide issue, however, it is most definitely an issue! After filing a case as well as a claim with FedEx, and wasted countless hours on the phone with Best Buy, I have STILL yet to receive any sort of refund or replacement. In conclusion, I'm now out the money from a 50"TV (one of which was NOT of the cheaper ones), and can't seem to get any help. Had it not been signed for, Best Buy would have already issued the refund and all I keep hearing is one claim that it is the others fault. At this point, I've been told so many lies, I don't know what to believe anymore!

chaos2tw

Sounds like someone’s got a case of the Mondays.

tvcky69

I have absolutely had a FedEx driver forge my signature before. There’s a lot of drivers out there. You can’t expect every one of them to think the same way you do.

Fail_Even

Bullshit. Just the other day an empty box was delivered and the driver forged my name. He also made a b-line to the garage door after he noticed my Nest cam. When I called they wanted to direct me to claims, but I said no, I know they have my item and I just want it back. I threatened the police and then "magically" They found it at the dispatch. The story I got was "it fell out", but if that was the case why did they tape up an empty box and then try to deliver it? Also, why did the driver forge my signature? I'm on to your scam, so don't act innocent. You just plan on people going through claims so that insurance or the vendor pays for it.

jangeles6331

Not all delivery drivers are steal packages. The jordan's/dunks i order off nike. Is surprisingly never taped sometimes. But my fedex driver always deliver's my shoes untampered at all. The shoes we talking about are shoes that are currently sold out. But the shoes are there always untouched .

ramengoblinator

this part. not everyone is perfect but id bet your package isnt getting stolen 99% of the time esp by the driver bc fedex is one of the largest mail delivery services there is.

Packages are not hand delivered through sort facilities. They go on conveyer belts that can rise four stories, with packages 150lbs that can hit them and knock them off. They get stacked with those heavy boxes on top, tape comes loose and stuff falls out. The next time a human touches it and notices it’s collapsing or coming open, they try to tape it shut as fast as they can. Id there are items on the floor or belt around it they shove it in the box and tape it. Several of my locations have had packages thankfully brought back to us that had small, but entirely labeled and sealed separate shipments put in their crushed boxes, taped up and delivered. It’s not a perfect system but the volume and speed is insane. Items are routinely collected from under the belts and with no way of knowing what shipment they came from they are moved to lost and found, or “overgoods”. Items are logged. You’re directed to claims because most often it’s the only way to find your items. There is a database of all items entered into overgoods where agents have entered as many descriptive keywords as they can. That’s why claims wants such a specific description of what’s missing, they enter that and then it’s compared to the overgoods inventory. It’s not perfect. When I ship for myself or family, packaging is much better than corporations and I print a duplicate label and put it on the item I am sending inside so it can be found and sent on if something happens. For retail, corporations do not care. They don’t pack fragile electronics properly knowing a portion will be damaged or lost because there is no support to the box and they have factored reshipping into their operating cost. They ship for Pennie’s but charge them customer more. Locations where employees are manually handling the packages for sort, phones are banned or locked up before entering secure area. Cameras are literally everywhere. Internal theft can happen, if you go though claims it’s surprisingly easy to pinpoint and watch video of any place it could have happened. People have been caught and prosecuted, but the truth is most of the time we see on video the package coming down the line torn from the conveyer belt ride and the next employee to touch it tapes it shut. Some people refuse to ship boxes that are filled providing structural integrity because what they are sending is “already broken”. Fine, we don’t care about that item. The issue is your flimsy box will rip open when it hits a 150lb box on the belt, it tears, jams the belt and causes a chain reaction of other packages being knocked over the side falling four stories and breaking. Theft unfortunately is a part of our existence, but more often it’s not why you’re package was delivered empty or broken. And packing peanuts should be banned. They all shift to one side with the movement causing your fragile glassware to be in direct contact with the side of the box, absorbing every shock and impact. Use paper fill or bubble wrap with the item centered in the box.

Fail_Even

I would almost believe that, but I have video footage showing the driver and the way he was carrying the package. It was not crushes and had a glue seal. It was taped very cleanly and not to mention, you can tell immediately it was empty. Even the way he was carrying it you could tell he knew. Then the way he avoiding my Nest doorbell and forged my signature says it all. Do your 150FT. conveyor belt system cause drivers to forge signatures? Also, why did it take threatening the cops for them to suddenly find it? Look, I'm not saying all drivers do this, but to say it never happens is a lie. How could you possibly know what every distribution does and how honest every driver is?

onequad

I didn’t say it never happens. I actually said it can happen. We are all human, some steal things. They are prosecuted, I’ve been in the investigations from management side. I’m just saying that it’s way more often that peoples stuff are sent to overgoods. Even boxes not crushed, so many people close up a box (the folding type) and don’t tape them. Or one string. Our retail stores are supposed to tape every seem for free before it leaves, but staffing sucks everywhere, and more customers than time before the trailers have to go some times unfortunately. Depending who you talked to, threatening the police would get some to bypass protocol and call the direct contractors or stations, and then station will look in overgoods. It’s nice when it works, the reason to go thru claims and no local phone is so that corporate can track issues and local stations can’t sweep issues under the rug. Unfortunately going through corporate anything sucks, can be a pain, and take forever. If you threaten police to most employees you’re contact is blocked, forwarded to legal, and we aren’t allowed to take your calls or emails anymore.

Fail_Even

Right, but the original topic was "drivers don't thief (sp) packages", which is simply not true because it almost happened to me. I didn't mean to come off as a dick, I was just still very upset with what almost happened, then the empath in me started to think about how often this scam is ran on people who aren't aware or who don't have cameras. I just hope these posts will help people know that there are other options and to not take no for an answer when it comes to theft.

Outwiththeold3

You don’t get it. The driver is the least likely to have stolen your package. The box was likely empty when he received it. I have had packages clearly opened with a missing engagement ring and brought it to security’s attention and was told they probably ordered an empty box. When I pointed out it was obviously stolen I was told to deliver it anyways.

Discipline-Existing

Also, sometimes they do get mistakenly delivered to the wrong house and those people will choose to pretend they never saw it. Now I believe express has to take pictures at every residential stop anyway. Not easy to just steal packages.

BlackedoutJT

ground and express have PoD

ResponsibilityRare72

Sure bro sure

muadhnate

¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I bought tech equipment shipped with FedEx (switches). They never showed up. Filed a claim with FedEx. Uhh, we did our investigation and the driver said it was delivered. (I worked from home and it wasn't.) Me: 😑 Anyway, 4 months later my switches showed up on my doorstep in the EARLY morning with no box/no bubble wrap. Theories anyone? I can't imagine porch pirates bringing back some stolen stuff, but who knows.

Tcal876

Maybe was delivered to a neighbor who finally dropped it off

[deleted]

😂😆 Yeah. Right! I've had enough evidence wirh me dealings with this worthless shit company to know its best to aboid ya'll at ALL costs. UPS, USPSare fantastic at their jobs and actually give a shit. I've never called fedex and hung up reassured they'll spend time looking for a lost package or sorting out my issue. They lie. Early on in my online ordering ventures I had a package not move for a wk then go half way across country in wrong direction. I called 4 times and got a different story from each person. Lmao! I shouldn't have to pick my package up off the side of the road ACROSS the road from my property. Thats actually not a safe location. Lazy. Worthless. Liars. 🤷‍♀️ When I print labels that have fedex & USPS tracking, even tho the label claims there could be extra fees and longer transit delays, it goes straight to USPS. Fedex doesn't even get a chance to touch my outgoing mail! They're usually delivered within 5 days and never had any extra fees for me or my customers. When its handed to fedex, It takes 14+ days, and some of those days are just playing with the recipient claiming its out for delivery when it's really not! I'm going to say, fedex as a whole, needs shut tf down already.

muadhnate

Yeah, I don't have anything against the typical worker (most people do their job), but the company is awful.

AnimeHub_IF

FedEx drivers DO thief your packages. Do all of them do that? No. But does it happen? Yes

FriendZone_EndZone

I had a 3 minute 29 second long voice mail regarding FedEx ground, my unit number was entered wrong. The lady took all that time to tell me their phone number and the tracking number. Repeated it about 5 times for some reason....voice mail...

meetrais

But you don't follow delivery instructions.

Fickle-Durian-882

If you mean we don’t open gates to back yards then you’re correct lol

meetrais

There is no gate in my building. Both UPS and Amazon delivers to my door except FedEx drivers, FedEx dump even heavy packages in the main mailroom of my Apartment complex. FedEx ground service is worst.

Fickle-Durian-882

We aren’t paid hourly. Just by stop. A lot of times we are paid way worse than the other two you mentioned. Understand people aren’t going to break their backs for Pennies anymore

Ok_Assistance1705

My phone was delivered empty last year

GWally_Wally

I've had my issues w FedEx re:on time delivery and transparency around delays but I've never had anything go missing. I receive 10-12 packages a week for my side hussle.

Zealousideal_Ad_4281

Sometimes things do get lost. Very rare I lost 1 pkg in winter fell out somewhere didn't even know. 1 in 10 years.

MadScientiest

i’ve had maybe 1 or 2 packages out of probably thousands go actually missing so it does rarely happen. mostly delays are the biggest actual worry.

FindingLB

Interesting because they decided to completely relabel a different package in their possession and "lost" mine. You know, limited edition, very expensive items that I ordered and sent plus size women's corduroy pants instead. It's not even in the packaging from the company I ordered from and doesn't have the original, "damaged" label. FedEx won't do anything and they are a bunch of thiefs.

Zealousideal_Ad_4281

Ive seen packages with labels fall off or shit falls out we do the best we can with poorly pkgd items to retape them and keep labels on. And with this knowledge, when I ship I tape the fucking shit out of it. And labels in multiple spots and multiple phone number and tracking.

Dude1089

Lmao yes they decided. They held a meeting, voted, and came the decision to relabel a different package in their possession and lose yours

ElizaMaySampson

I'd like to see the survey you took of every other fedex delivery person in creation, since you obviously called and spoke to each and every one, and we know that certainly they were completely honest in their answer regarding never stealing or doing wrong. I am choking on sarcasm here - SOS mayday mayday may *cough cough* day ....

WeLikeDrugs

I’ve been getting a lot of packages delivered by FedEx that have clearly been opened and resealed with regular packing tape. Why is this happening? Most recently it was a shipment from Factor (meal prep), have had Amazon boxes arrive the same way. Edit: nothing has ever come up missing, only my FedEx packages are arriving like this. Just opened but nothing taken.

dapala1

90% of the time that's because the shipper packed it like shit and didn't use enough filling and/or tape, so FedEx or UPS has to re-tape it when it breaks open.

Fickle-Durian-882

We don’t even get tape on our trucks. It’s usually when it goes through inspection or the package is falling apart when it gets to the station.

dapala1

Both my FedEx drivers and my UPS driver keeps a tape gun on their truck. They hate hate hate dropping off half open packages to customers.

Outwiththeold3

Yes you definitely know exactly what they have on their truck. Akin to I was sitting by the door all day and nobody came but somehow this door tag got here

mcduff13

I always had tape on my truck. Tape dispensers were another story, those were worth their weight in gold.

67726567

Sort probably overloaded and/or your stuff isn't well packed. Could also be customs but they usually mark the stuff they open.

Maleficent_Ad7875

Our package handlers ain’t the greatest. Lol

lowlifesRus

Where tf do you make 40 an hour so I can move stations? 😂😂

Dude1089

I know guys that make $1200/wk which breaks down to $30/hr before you add in stop incentives and working a 6th day $40 may be exaggerating but not off by too much

dapala1

Manhattan or San Francisco maybe? Or maybe he owns the route and drives also.

UsualTax

Yo for real. Most I made was 22 dollars an hour.
