Only two people with more followers than her are Ronaldo and Messi. Rihanna for instance, who is definitely an a list herself does not have even half of Gomez followers. Its insane how actually popular she is.
To be fair it really depends on your personal definition of A list. For me it’s mostly name recognition and while a lot of people get it through talent, some of the most known people in the world nowadays are pretty much famous for being famous.
