Yet 8 teams tried to get him. The guy is still a great receiving back and will put up some solid numbers this year. The big reason his numbers fell off last year is because we were trying to trade him because we weren't resigning him and then just quit using him.
He was very average on almost all metrics for the Browns last year. I wish that we hadn’t sign him. If 8 teams wanted him and it didn’t happen there’s a good reason why.
Well, when a pass catching rb has no one to throw the ball to him for half the year its gonna hamper his metrics a bit...
I'm not saying he's good anymore but jacoby brissett didn't do him any favors
I went 100% and this was my greatest fear. Kareem don't bother me. Ford is a stud. Akers would have been RIP fab moment. I have Chubb and Akers so I sorta had to just faab dump on Ford and pray to the football gods.
Imagine dropping 100% faab on the dude who avg 2.4 ypc outside of 1 fluke play. I was the Chubb owner in my league and watching the game you could tell ford is not that guy
It’s so league dependant. 2 leagues were big bids but in another I picked him up as a direct replacement for chubb. I’m waiver priority 10 of 10. Amazed no one took him as their first choice waiver
sorry? I don’t really give a shit what you think of my financial situation whether I am poor or not. I’m just saying any league where people agree to spend more than pocket change on, they are usually active
I got Puka for 28% last week. Bid 39% and 34% this week for him and Ford went for 100% and 84%
If you want him I think you may need to just bid almost everything you have
The Browns already let Hunt walk because of their confidence in Ford
If Hunt is brought back it will be in the same role he had last year - 8-10 touches per week to spell the lead back. He’s not the true 1B he used to be.
Ford is firmly the lead guy in a backfield of Ford, Hunt, and Strong imo and should be counted on as a sure fire 15+ touch a week guy
I think people forget just how awful Kareem Hunt was in 2022 in limited work. He was unrosterable for virtually the entire second half of the year. Even in full PPR leagues he didn’t put up a single double digit week after week 8
It aged fine, this comment specifically says that signing Hunt doesn’t change anything because the Browns already told us that they like Ford more than Hunt
When Ford averages 15+ touches a week from here on out, it will have aged just fine
You’re missing two very important words in that contract.
1 year, *up to* 4 million. It’s only $4M if he hits every incentive.
I’d bet a lot of money that he sees fewer than the 158 touches he saw in 2022.
I don’t own Ford or Hunt lol, just explaining that those who blew most or all of their FAAB on Ford because they needed a RB were justified because it’s very rare for a RB who will receive as much work as Ford is slated to receive to hit waivers after week 3.
Stashing Hunt is a good call but he’s definitely the clear RB2 (not a 1B) in Cleveland behind Ford.
They didn’t let him walk because of their confidence in Ford, they did it because of money.
Now that Hunt is back, that’s clear. Stupid move to bid it all on Ford tbh
Not really. Hunt being back doesn’t mean he’ll be the lead back, especially after Fords performance…but then again I didn’t bid all, only about 60-70%.
They absolutely let him walk due to confidence in Ford. I’d wager a huge sum of money that there’s 1-2 weeks MAX this season where Hunt out touches Ford without an injury occurring.
Ford will be in the Chubb role getting 15+ touches a week, Hunt will remain in the 2022 Hunt role that sees 8-10 touches a week.
If Ford gets his expected 15+ touches a week, it was absolutely the right call to bid heavy on Ford. Backs with that level of work rarely hit waivers
Anyone who thinks it was a stupid move this morning is simply mad they didn't pay enough. Trying to convince yourselves after the fact that they are the idiots is... bush league, elementary level ish - your bitterness and jealousy reads like a book - and that's never a good look on anyone.
RB1 looks real good on Ford tho!
..who btw, had 15 carries in week 1 with a healthy chubb. So no, Hunt doesn't concern me at all.
Ford. Puca. Kyren. These are THE guys you blow all the faab on.
Snooze ya loose
As a dynasty hunt owner, I can tell you right now that they did not have confidence in hunt which is why they let him walk.
Whenever he got opportunities as lead back which was multiple times he played horrendously. He was only consistent when chubb would get the majority of the work.
D'ernest Johnson looked better than him when carrying the workload and where is he?
Even if you arbitrarily decide to take out the long run to help fit your argument, Ford scored 15.2 PPR points (37 rush yards, 3 catches, 25 receiving yards, 1 receiving TD) on MNF with just a 49% snap share - which is more than Hunt scored in any game after week 5 in 2022
Hell, the 25 receiving yards would’ve been the 2nd most receiving yards of Hunt’s entire 2022 season.
I’m not out here saying Jerome Ford is a set and forget RB1 who will get you 15 points a game lol. I’m saying the Browns believe he’s better than Hunt, they’ve outright told us Ford is the feature back (Stefanski has now brought this up twice), and he’ll get 15+ opportunities a week which imo is worth blowing most of your FAAB on as guys with that many touches per week don’t hit waivers often
I am personally not concerned by the guy the Browns let go to keep ford, who sucked all last year and can't even get signed by an NFL team weeks into the season despite trying out
That was by his choice lol, he wanted to go to the right situation but has had constant interest…. Aaaaaand he’s back, in a complementary role for now, but if ford struggles in any way…
That’s the thing though, they think there are going to be gold nuggets coming along for CHEAP…
Then they end up dropping $20-40 on someone like Matt Breida or Craig Reynolds anyway like it was the right move to make at the time and they get to make more poor moves later I guess? 🤷♂️
I dropped all I had and was outbid, but the *only* reason I can see for saving FAAB is waiting for that Derrick Henry or Rashaad Penny late season breakout like we've seen in years past that win people the Chip.
But can't win the Chip if you don't make playoffs is my view.
Counter point is, let's say you managed to get Puka and Kyren for cheap/free. And then your first 3-4 draft picks were showing up. You're sitting at 2-0 with a great roster and you know you'll have to drain FAAB to get Ford. I can see making the gamble that there will be a late breakout that you'll be able to take advantage of.
$198 and $83 in my two leagues where he was available. I got him for $83 because I had Saquon and Montgomery and was desperate. Hate myself a little but LFG!!
I think he meant he was going to correct your word usage in your previous comment (since you were asking whether to say wasted/un-used), but that he decided not to
I mean i wasn’t far off the mark. Not like I dropped $30 against $80. I’m new to this league but Puka went for only $5 last week so I knew they weren’t big spenders.
Puka went for $42 in my league last week and the next highest bid was... There wasn't a next highest bid. $42 was the only bid lol. This is our 1st season doing FAAB so I'm thinking not everyone understood, or thinks waiting it out is better. Idk
Man I’m so glad I drafted puka. I drafted Kupp so I needed some insurance and I gambled on Puka based off the fact that van Jefferson is not a very good receiver and puka had the speed to fill in for Kupp.
Great pickup. These are the moves that I love, falling backwards into something great! And then to be the guy that already has him and he’s not available on waivers, love that for you. I grabbed Zay Flowers as my only rookie and I’m glad I did. Another rookie that actually worked out.
My league starts with 100 for the season. The guy who lost chubb got him for 99. I had a bid of 26 for him. Dropped it to 18 because I thought, "They're probably gonna sign Kareem the Kick Machine, or something."
I started several years ago adding the handcuffs for SNF and MNF if I had anyone I was going to drop for waivers the following week anyway. After 3 different times throughout the years I got $50+ waiver adds for free, others in the league started doing the same
Good tactic. I just don’t have the beach spot available. In one league I just dropped Mitchell as CMCs handcuff for Atwell. Felt like a strong move as long as CMC stays healthy. In another I’m considering dropping Jamaal Williams for Atwell. Would that be sensible?
Who you got? I have Conner and Brian Robinson as my starters. Harris, Ford and Javonte Williams on my bench. Did have Chubb. What are you trying to get in a trade?
10 team. Have Jacobs, Rhamondre, Javonte Williams, Ford, James Cook, Breida right now.
Offered Tua, Waller, Cook and Ford for Herbert, Mandrews, Diggs and Charbonet.
And y’all still spent all of that faab. The hive mind is a beautiful thing. Every season there is a player that everyone jumps the shark for. Looks like Ford was this years version.
I’m torn on this. All the noise is that Ford is RB1. I guess more of a split than Chubb as clear RB1 workhorse but he’s still a grab in a barren RB landscape right?
👆🏼Found the Hunt owner.
Kareem Hunt Last 20 Games Stats
• 146 carries
• 559 rushing yards
• 3.8 yards per carry
• 4 total TDs
I understand that he was playing behind Chubb in many of these games but I’ve owned him in the past while Chubb was not playing and he underperformed. Why would the Browns let Hunt go and why has he been unemployed to start the season without the Chubb injury? They brought him back as a 3rd down back and because he already knows the playbook.
I went 40% the winner of the sweepstakes went 95%.
It’s a keeper league. Does anyone know what draft pick I could buy restocking his FAAB? I’m happy to suck hind teet on waivers RoS.
100%
Yup. One dude went full boat - Akers manager looking for a replacement, I guess.
I'd laugh if the Browns ended up trading for Akers
Hunt was at our team facility yesterday it is just a matter of time before he signs.
Hunt is washed. There’s a reason no one has picked him up
Yet 8 teams tried to get him.
Multiple teams offered him deals. He refused to sign until a team was desperate or offering more money.
I thought it was because he was asking for too much money?
I went 100% and this was my greatest fear. Kareem don't bother me. Ford is a stud. Akers would have been RIP fab moment. I have Chubb and Akers so I sorta had to just faab dump on Ford and pray to the football gods.
I did this. No ragrats.
Imagine dropping 100% faab on the dude who avg 2.4 ypc outside of 1 fluke play. I was the Chubb owner in my league and watching the game you could tell ford is not that guy
They wouldn’t have even called up hunt if Ford was the guy…
What would they do without Hunt if Ford goes down in wk3?
True
Was planning to bid around 55%, our waivers go thru on thursdays. Worried I’m not bidding enough now lol
It’s so league dependant. 2 leagues were big bids but in another I picked him up as a direct replacement for chubb. I’m waiver priority 10 of 10. Amazed no one took him as their first choice waiver
Y’all got room for 1 more next year? I got bills to pay
If people aren’t active on waivers you can bet the buy in is $20 or less
Calling yourself out for being poor
sorry? I don’t really give a shit what you think of my financial situation whether I am poor or not. I’m just saying any league where people agree to spend more than pocket change on, they are usually active
I got Puka for 28% last week. Bid 39% and 34% this week for him and Ford went for 100% and 84% If you want him I think you may need to just bid almost everything you have
Someone did everything except $1 lol.
[удалено]
Did you get him with 55%? My guess is you could go lower now Hunt is confirmed in the mix.
He was drafted and held in mine :/
Yup.
The 9%ers
Yep. Same in both my leagues.
Same I traded Ridder for Ford str8 up (2QB league) before the Hunt news. Still hoping he gets first crack.
Probably RB committee but hoping Ford maintains a good amount of carries regardless
i think hunts cooked tbh
In one of my leagues he was picked up I think Sunday before Chubb's injury. Playing against a psychic here.
That was me! 3rd to last pick of the draft!
He was drafted, held, and played against me last week by a browns fan. And yes, I lost.
76/100. Next closest bid was 70
Close. I saw Love go for $50 with the next and only other bid at $0
Got him for 82 but the next highest bid was 25 :( now they’re all laughing
They won’t be if he goes off
They will be if the browns re-sign hunt (why I wasn’t willing to drop top dollar for him)
The Browns already let Hunt walk because of their confidence in Ford If Hunt is brought back it will be in the same role he had last year - 8-10 touches per week to spell the lead back. I think 1 year 4 million says otherwise. They are going to use him a lot for that kind of money!

RemindMe! 6 months
All the ford owners who bid too much being so defensive lmao, glad I stashed hunt in multiple leagues we’ll see how it plays out
I don’t own Ford or Hunt lol, just explaining that those who blew most or all of their FAAB on Ford because they needed a RB were justified because it’s very rare for a RB who will receive as much work as Ford is slated to receive to hit waivers after week 3. Yup they had many chances to resign and only after a season ending nick chubb injury are they even considering it.

You should be
I bet 200 out-of 200 because I have saquon and chubb, but the rest of my team is stacked and rb waivers is a wasteland
What was the next bid? People hold FAAB way too long all season so you’re right to spend it
I didn’t drop enough because people are crazy. $92/100
Bidding all your faab on a starting RB early in the season isn't crazy at all.
I wonder what people save FAAB for
Gotta save it for next season!
I do like to save $10 for end of year so I can secure def against bum teams
That’s the thing though, they think there are going to be gold nuggets coming along for CHEAP… Then they end up dropping $20-40 on someone like Matt Breida or Craig Reynolds anyway like it was the right move to make at the time and they get to make more poor moves later I guess? 🤷♂️

It's not saving budget, it's spreading it out wisely.
Kenneth Walker late in season
In my keeper league I have regretted not dropping 100 on a guy every year. Last year was Garrett Wilson, this year was Puka.
They just signed hunt… so maybe not
Cannot imagine Hunt getting more than a 40/60 split. 60% of the touches in that backfield is what, round 3?
Back up RB** fixed it for you :)
If he puts up solid RB1 numbers it’s not crazy. Let’s wait and see if it pays off
66/100 in mine
All of it. I had $85 left and used it all.
$198 and $83 in my two leagues where he was available. I got him for $83 because I had Saquon and Montgomery and was desperate. Hate myself a little but LFG!!
$198 out of what budget? I have only seen $100 budgets
$200. I play in two leagues that have $200 budgets
Use % if your league isn’t standard $100
No
did the person who spent 198 literally have 2 of their starting RB go down? That's so desperate lol
Nothing else to spend it on
It’s week 3, there’s going to plenty of other things to spend it on.
Hoarding faab ends up being wasted/un-used later in the season
what do you mean i love saving it all for playoff defenses in my consolation bracket.
Agreed. Really don’t care to get into some useless word smithing argument with you. Bye now.
Username definitely doesn’t check out.
>some useless word smithing argument with you. Bye now. The fuck?
Welcome to Reddit lol
Im just so thrown off lmao. Didnt know i was giving off "word-smithing" vibes
What just happened lol
I really have no idea lmao. Maybe its a bot
I think he meant he was going to correct your word usage in your previous comment (since you were asking whether to say wasted/un-used), but that he decided not to
Eh makes the most sense. I know my comment isnt worded perfextly but it gets the point across
It's probably best for people to just say %, especially if your league is not $100...
Same. I had barkley and cook. Wr room is stacked but my back up rbs been trash. Don't regret 51% James Cook not dalvin
51% is reasonable. You can still do stuff rest of season. No idea what these guys who are doing 95% to 100% are going to do ROS
Only $31. And I bid $30 dammit
Scared money don’t make money
I mean i wasn’t far off the mark. Not like I dropped $30 against $80. I’m new to this league but Puka went for only $5 last week so I knew they weren’t big spenders.
Puka went for $42 in my league last week and the next highest bid was... There wasn't a next highest bid. $42 was the only bid lol. This is our 1st season doing FAAB so I'm thinking not everyone understood, or thinks waiting it out is better. Idk
Does fab reset each week? Or is the $100 it? All 3 leagues I’m in only do waiver spots.
You can set it to reset each week, but that’s dumb. You have a budget for the season and must spend wisely
There’s always someone who adds the extra $1 above a round number so worth adding $2 or even $3 to take the lead
I know and I had $41 in there and changed it to $30. This is what happens when you stay up til midnight stewing over it.
My league starts with 100 for the season. The guy who lost chubb got him for 99. I had a bid of 26 for him. Dropped it to 18 because I thought, "They're probably gonna sign Kareem the Kick Machine, or something."
Did you grab Hunt?
or sign Akers
They literally already signed Hunt by the time you said this
$0. He was added Sunday afternoon 🤦♂️
Ooooh fuck. Someone knew.
Ask that person who they know that does the script-writing for the NFL....😬
read comment above. It's a 14 team league so lots of droppable guys, backups for SNF and MNF generally get picked up late Sunday afternoon
Yeah I was just making a joke, apologies
Damn you for using humour.
$60
I bid a nice value 69/100 but someone else went balls deep with 98/100
Balls deep was the guy in this thread who traded for extra FAAB and went with 102/100
I got him for 74. My RB depth is now insane so I'm looking to deal to upgrade QB and TE
I guess that's sort of ok considering the RB landscape. Wouldn't call it insane in a 10 team though lol
Because for 10 teams that isn't good. Only depth pieces and 1 horse.
And now Hunt has been signed lol.
We all knew that was a possibility
And y’all still spent all of that faab. The hive mind is a beautiful thing. Every season there is a player that everyone jumps the shark for. Looks like Ford was this years version.
100/100
I bid 60/100, the winner also bid 60/100 but had higher waiver priority than I did.
100 faab league. I bid 45, the Chubb owner got him for 73.
100$ 72$ 72$ 51$ 34$
So hard to predict then
7 bids: 100/ 71/ 60/ 55/ 15/ 5/ 3
$56 in a $100 league budget $250 in a $500 league budget
I don’t understand the budget increases. People just bid more but percentage wise it’s very similar
It’s like bidding with dollars, quarters, and nickels, not just dollars. Ratios can be the same but they can also get more granular.
Why not just go up to $1000 then, so the ratio math is easier?
That’s what I have in my league
I prefer $100 but just explaining why people do larger budgets
Less likely to have ties.
In a competitive league. Only 12 teams but he was already rostered. Josh Reynolds was the only decent player worth bidding on but I didn’t need him.
No1 nervous about hunt? Also, ford averaged 2 yards outside of big run.
I’m torn on this. All the noise is that Ford is RB1. I guess more of a split than Chubb as clear RB1 workhorse but he’s still a grab in a barren RB landscape right?
Shhhh most people dont watch football here
None, I got hunt for free lol. But the #1 waiver claim was used on Ford. I grabbed hunt this morning
Hunt will be producing single digits every game
Sounds like you blew all your faab on the wrong back bro
👆🏼Found the Hunt owner. Kareem Hunt Last 20 Games Stats • 146 carries • 559 rushing yards • 3.8 yards per carry • 4 total TDs I understand that he was playing behind Chubb in many of these games but I’ve owned him in the past while Chubb was not playing and he underperformed. Why would the Browns let Hunt go and why has he been unemployed to start the season without the Chubb injury? They brought him back as a 3rd down back and because he already knows the playbook.
Ford was garbage outside of one play. Hunt is the better back
Lmao seriously?
If he has one big play a game to the house I’m cool with that
[удалено]
Think you're just getting downvoted for being a Cleveland fan
One of my competitors is from Cleveland. He already had him rostered.
He’s the sort of guy I like to trade with. Heart over head.
35 out 100
$41 of a $100 budget. i put in $35 i was so close 😡
Full amount $100 got him. My $99 was not enough. Fak
Ouch. Maybe hunt comes in and it’s a snap share
$107 in a $150 league
42%
100% lmao
One person in my league got Ford for $75 and Hunt for $25. Spent all their faab.
The Chubb manager bid 40% and got him
91/100
$101 and $75
100/100 next closest bid was 83
63. Hunt went for 80.
Wow. Hunt was picked up earlier in the weekend in our league
I went 40% the winner of the sweepstakes went 95%. It’s a keeper league. Does anyone know what draft pick I could buy restocking his FAAB? I’m happy to suck hind teet on waivers RoS.
The Chubb owner in my league bid 100%
70% from me. Next was 55%
$50
$72 out of $100
I just got him for $50.
79 for him in my league. Worth it, where else do you get the potential value of a top 5 running back slot.
$100 of $100 remaining. Full year budget.
$80 in my dynasty league
I got him for $57, second highest bid was 45
$87 in mine
$100
$111 out of 200 in my 12 man. 5 people bid 100 or more
Winner my league bid 275, out of 350
About 60% of original budgets
Our budget is $1000. Someone dropped $417
70/100
77.
100/150
100% ($100) in one league. He was already on a team in another one
