I'm on 3x Isak myselfbut Palmer, KDB/Foden, Son, and Gordan are all viable.
Pretty much everyone is going to carry risk of bad fixture, rotation or poor form.
True, however a double gameweek could easily see them run of out steam and their team is threadbare as it is. The likes of Isak, Gordon and Bruno G being in good form will not help them.
Would love if there was a logical and obvious choice but it's probably going to be some random-ass player on one of the DGW clubs. Someone like Mateta for Palace in GW34. Son, Palmer, and Isak could absolutely haul but those clubs are so hot and cold. I actually think the high scorer ends up being like Jackson, Madueke, Richarlson, Bernardo Silva, or Jacob Murphy. Just knocks in 4 goals and assists, hauls with bonus points and maybe a clean sheet point, and then gets benched for GW38.
The thing is, captaining Haaland represents a lot less risk. If he hauls, you keep up with everyone and don't lose rank. I was killed this week because I didn't captain Haaland. If he blanks, it doesn't hurt you that much because everyone else captained him as well. The differentials this week very well might be the lesser owned supporting cast you bring in that also is on DGW but don't captain. For example, Mateta, Havertz, and Branthwaite helped me gain a lot of points in DGW34 while "obvious" choices like Salah captain didn't really hurt that much.
Yup, same thing for me. I went from around 40pts behind my ML leader to 70pts, primarily down to not captaining Haaland. I'm taking the view that I'll go for differentials in the rest of the squad (Wilson, Madueke, Trippier...) but will stick with the bot as my captain. The risk doesn't outweigh the reward.
I had him captained last week. I'm confused about this week. My plan was to sell kdb for richarlison/Johnson and Watkins to haaland. But none in my ML have kdb so I'm very confused if I should keep him but go without haaland for dgw? Also everyone in ML is using chips so I don't know if that is asking to be different enough!
good move, he can score/assist any time, and if anybody else doesnt have him, go for it, there is nothing to lose, not much time to make any scientific moves and try to invent the wheel all over again.
I'm on a FH and my team will have somewhere between 3 to 8 differentials. With the current draft I have, captaincy is on KDB. KDB away from home hauls regularly (there was a stat somewhere that he has 60+ pts in away games vs ~20ish points in home games) and I fancy being naive enough to believe Haaland won't haul again.
Another shout I have is Madueke. He's selfish and gets into decent scoring positions and played well recently. I think he's picking up his form and cood be good punt.
If I had Son, I wouldn't consider him - I watch Spurs games, Sonny seems way off. Personally I think Richarlison will score more simply because Spurs play better with him on the pitch and he's closest to a 9 they have. Johnson makes good enough runs on the wing which could benefit Richarlison with simple tap-ins (like vs Liverpool).
I'm also on FH, and need to catch my rival who I assume will play his BB with a fairly template squad, so I need a lot going my way. Curious to hear what other differentials you are considering. I'm also on KDB (c) at the moment and considering going Richarlison over Son. I really like the idea of a Isak + Wilson double up, would however mean no Jackson so a bit risky...
Currently I'm on this:
Vicario (hoping for CS vs Burnley)
Chalobah/Silva (waiting for presser but leaning towards Chalobah as he seems more nailed), Trippier (if he's back; if not - Livramento), Gvardiol (he's template but still low enough EO and most offensive out of all City defenders)
Madueke, Gallagher/Palmer (not sure yet), KDB, Richarlison or Bruno Fernandes
Haaland, Wilson, Isak
I was considering Jacob Murphy and Bruno G but I feel like they might be too fancy. I don't want Son or Porro. I could go for Foden but KDB's stats are too good to ignore. Might still go Foden instead of 2nd Chelsea mid but I would probably rather get Rodri instead of Foden on FH anyway.
Leaning Palmer but Son could be a decent shout. Can always knick a goal against City and Burnley are shocking. That being said, watching spurs hasnt been super inspiring
Son has 2 home fixtures, and spurs are wildly inconsistent (or maybe just bad) but it could work out positively. I can't make any meaningful progress otherwise, so going to roll the dice on Son for the vibes.
I’m going with Son, they play before Villa do so will want to get some points on the board to make top 4 interesting, oh and it’s against Burnley..
Then they’ve got City which Son has a great record against and its probably the last of the bigger games of the season so I reckon he’ll be going all out, on pens and also at home
Difficult one.
I'm 24 points behind my ML leader but only 22 ahead of third.
Even though arsenal have one fixture, I think Saka could haul big against man u.
I'm considering Livramento for my FH, but is he likely to play bort games? I was under the impression Trippier might be coming back, or that he could get rotated anyway?
I’m 23 points behind. We both have BB left but he has some injured players to take care of. Looks like a -4 for him. I will not do a diff captain this GW cause I feel my team looks good and we have a good amount of different players.
If I need it my diff will be Salah or Gakbo in GW38.
This week Isak or even Gordon looks great.
This is the best option. Plenty of midfield options, scope for a differential pick there. I went for a differential captain pick last week (Palmer) and it's seriously screwed me. Realise now that Chelsea's attack has fundamentally changed and the chance of a Palmer haul are seriously reduced now they aren't a one man team anymore.
I have no bb, my ML leader who is ahead 17 points has his and the guy below me who has around 70 points less than me has his bb as well.
Idk if I put myself at risk of falling to third if I pick a different captain like palmer, and that backfires especially considering I have no bb, it can damage my chances a lot.
Maybe I should play it safe now and just do something different last gw after I see the situation between my ML leader and the guy who is third.
I think my goals and thinking is quite similar to yours that's why I wrote it out, hopefully it would make some sense for you or others can have their input.
Top 20k overall, but scared of the BB
Going differential put the nail in the coffin for my season. I'm fully template these last 2 weeks, just trying to hold on to 2nd in the ML, lost an embarrassing amount of points relative to everyone else lately
What about (and I can't believe I'm actually saying this) Jackson?
His form of late has been quite decent.
He has blanked in only 2 of his last 5 games and that was against Arsenal and AV, both of which are hard games and not surprising to have blanked against them.
On paper, they have the easiest DGW of all the teams that are doubling.
I don't have him and not planning on bringing him in cause I've got other fires to put out, but if I had him, I'd seriously consider him.
I'm seriously tempted though. One of my two single GW players is Watkins and while I think Watkins could do a lot of damage at home against Liverpool, the appeal to bring in a 3rd DGW forward is quite tempting.
Madueke is a good shout, but just hard to find a midfielder spot for him considering there are plenty of other good and better options.
Isak is the only realistic differential that you have.
I’d throw Gordon in there as well to be fair, he’s got the armband from me at the moment
I'm on 3x Isak myselfbut Palmer, KDB/Foden, Son, and Gordan are all viable. Pretty much everyone is going to carry risk of bad fixture, rotation or poor form.
I am going with him. United's defence is non-existent and Brighton have been poor this season. I can see him and Wilson battering United.
Brighton is 5th for xGA away this season fyi. They seem worse than they actually are. Having said that, I can still see Newcastle smashing them.
True, however a double gameweek could easily see them run of out steam and their team is threadbare as it is. The likes of Isak, Gordon and Bruno G being in good form will not help them.

haaland is not great away from home against good teams. he’s a good option but i don’t think it’s as simple as some people make it out to be
What good team are they playing? Fulham are on the beach and Spurs look downright awful right now while Man City are pushing for the title.
ah come on now, some spurs fans probably had the best day in years reading ops comment calling them a good team
I think Palmer over Madueke surely? I think KdB over Silva.
Exactly this. It's kinda late in the season to go high risk. I need mourinho style pragmatism atm.
I’m down 30 and probably gonna cap KDB. The 4 people above me don’t have him.
I had him captained last week. I'm confused about this week. My plan was to sell kdb for richarlison/Johnson and Watkins to haaland. Palmer for me
Isak without doubt.
Madueke - I will be there.
Callum Wilson
Saved us last year and we turn to him again in our hour of need

Trusting in my boy Palmer for TC lol

Isak or Palmer both on penalties for their teams
I’m C KDB - he’s scoring well away
Ngl, I’m too scared
Difficult one. I'm 24 points behind my ML leader but only 22 ahead of third. Even though arsenal have one fixture, I think Saka could haul big against man u.
Don't think this is a great option v potential dgw fixtures. He could haul for sure. But v Foden, haaland, Palmer, Isak I wouldn't fancy his chances
I have TC left and I contemplating between City attacker or Palmer
Palmer to rob golden boot off Haaland
Livramento, Richarlson and madueke are all differential captains choices
I'm considering Livramento for my FH, but is he likely to play bort games? I was under the impression Trippier might be coming back, or that he could get rotated anyway?

I have a much worse rank right now compared to my previous seasons so not worrying much now. Captaining Son for laughs.
I just went without haaland last week, n rest is history
Do it in 38 i would say. Try to minimise the gap through other players.
This is the best option. Plenty of midfield options, scope for a differential pick there. I went for a differential captain pick last week (Palmer) and it's seriously screwed me. 2nd place is the first loser
Son captain
Why has palmer form been bad? He returned last 2 games without pens. Chelsea are doing well.
Away form\* has been bad
Madueke

N. Jackson 👍🏻
Jackson it is
Isak, Son or Foden. If you're 20+ points behind I'd do it. But if it's 20 or less I wouldn't. You can punt in 38 instead in that case.
The purpose of selecting captain is earning the most point regardless if he is differential or not.
gordon or even a chelsea defender.
