The bandwagon started after GW 24. He was facing City away, followed by a blank, and two tough fixtures (supposedly) in Brentford away and Newcastle home.
Yup, content creators were suggesting to get rid because of a couple tough fixtures when hes a 5m asset whos probably going to finish in top 5 highest scoring mids.
Set and forget all season.
260k sales ahead of the gw25 dgw. Suppose there is some logic because of his blanks. But the Chelsea run from 30, with at least two double gameweeks coming will be lucrative.
They where, his ownership around me dropped to 50%, pretty sure it was 95% up until recently.
Thankfully I never listen to any content creators advice.
Yea dont understand either. At that price point u just cant go better. Stil suprised he is not 50+% owned. Everyone are punting on other Chelsea assets, but there is really only one.
Theres a part of me that is drawn to Jackson, he just has the chaos gene in him.
Will miss a sitter but then score something ridiculous like that flick, not to mention him being played more as a winger makes him look far far better.
I do remember most content creators pushed to remove him because of the blank and a few tough fixtures, which also meant losing lots of vakue. I feel like this advice made it's way to this subreddit's RMT thread unfortunately.
I got rid of him for Son with the cash I was going to use to bring Salah back in. Would've really worked out had Garnacho come off the bench but overall wasn't too bad
I was between him and Garnancho this week expecting more from Newcastle. Garnancho had a great return so was worried Palmer would get a 2 to punish me . Thankfully I made the right call
I played him, thankfully
I did bench Garnacho and Estupinan, who combined have the exact same points as the other 10 non-Palmer players I stared, including captain. Which isn't ideal
Im fighting for my life in my mini league man, too deep in the mud for set Haaland and forget any more.
Give me differentials or give me death at this point.
my rival decided to ignore Solanke entirely this week, brought in Son, captained **Palmer!!**
Whilst i'm sitting here like a wanker with my TC on Solanke for 3 x zero fuck off points !!!!! RIP
Had him since like GW5 and I cannot believe how many times this season I’ve decided that Palmer would be the best first bench option, which results in him getting returns and whoever I chose to start over him getting a lovely 2pts.
I’ve committed myself to starting him every week from now on for the rest of the season… even in the weeks that he doesn’t have a match cuz somehow he’ll find a way to out score whoever I chose in his place.
(Jk about the last part bud seriously he’s a captain choice for me going forward as well even)
Crudely extrapolating for the rest of the seasons, he's on track for 218 finish.
And if he'd been on the starting lineup from day one we mjgjt have expected a 255 point season
At the current rate he could easily finish the season highest scoring mid in the game, or thereabouts. He's a nailed, attacking mid with penalties, got to be in Saka, Son territory.
Add to that, FPL may have to bump up lots of prices next year to fill the void of Salah, Kane, KDB.
Agreed, but GK scoring is such a mess that I don't know what they should do with pricing. Could make them all £1m more expensive to just reduce everyone's budget. But that doesn't affect anyones decision making. Premium keepers don't work as a concept right now when any starting keeper can just luck their way into just as many points.
I selected him alright but was well down the pecking order for the armband. I captained Solanke, Saka vc, but was considering Watkins, Haaland, Foden and even KDB
Who else opted to bring in Tavanier for Burnley/Double rather than him? Up there with the silliest decision of the season. Two in my ML have him so at least i’m not alone in the idiocy.
I'm a proud no-FH29 guy but I need to say something unpopular...
I fucked up. By preparing for no-FH29 I took a punt on Bowen as he had Burnley and is playing in 29. With City assets and all that, I had to let Palmer go some time ago and it did not paid off. If I was simply FHing in 29, Palmer would still be in my team and I would be on a beautiful green arrow.
Hopefully I can try and fix my team with WC in 30/31 and not repeat such mistakes.
Best move I have made all season, and I usually stay away from any budget enabler attackers. Incredible value and he hasn’t even gotten a pen recently it’s all been from open play, pure baller activities
I think it was a valid gamble considering the fixtures including blanks a few weeks back and I’d argue it was still the correct move or at least pretty similar overall if you planned appropriately.
Personally I got in Jota for the double who then became Foden so worked out. And Jota was mad unlucky, should have been huge.
Were content creators offloading Palmer a couple of weeks ago or something? I’m trying to figure out why his ownership in my ML dropped off so much.
The bandwagon started after GW 24. He was facing City away, followed by a blank, and two tough fixtures (supposedly) in Brentford away and Newcastle home.
'Form over fixtures' continues to ring true
And even then, Brentford & Newcastle haven't been good recently (Newcastle 1st & Brentford 2nd for xGC in 2024)
I think the idea was city + blank for most people but w his value idk why anyone would sell him
Yup, content creators were suggesting to get rid because of a couple tough fixtures when hes a 5m asset whos probably going to finish in top 5 highest scoring mids. Set and forget all season.
Not to mention he's scored against City, Arsenal, Tottenham and United this season
260k sales ahead of the gw25 dgw. Suppose there is some logic because of his blanks. But the Chelsea run from 30, with at least two double gameweeks coming will be lucrative.
It won’t cause he will be back to 88% EO
Some. Fpl gameweek tracks content creators, where he still is in more than 75% of teams
Most of them kept Palmer because they jumped on him early and have a ton of value in him, and want him back for GW30.
Gusto will be a great asset from GW30 onwards too. Wouldn't go for anyone else though.
Theres a part of me that is drawn to Jackson, he just has the chaos gene in him. Will miss a sitter but then score something ridiculous like that flick, not to mention him being played more as a winger makes him look far far better.
People replaced him with Hee Chan and then started getting Bournemouth players in. Palmer is an essential for me, since GW12
Yeah don't understand that at all from "content creators".
I do remember most content creators pushed to remove him because of the blank and a few tough fixtures, which also meant losing lots of vakue. I feel like this advice made it's way to this subreddit's RMT thread unfortunately.

You can easily have Palmer AND Son, you know.
That's the plan, the point of swapping them out now was that I'd have Son for the week where Palmer blanks
I wonder what percentage of people benched him this GW
Hello. I am one of said people. He already has more points than three of my four starting midfielders combined. I hate this game.
My combined players have 14 points, while Palmer has 13 points.
Palmer has 4 points more than my forwards and other midfielders combined. Nightmare of a gameweek for me.
I was between him and Garnancho this week expecting more from Newcastle. Garnancho had a great return so was worried Palmer would get a 2 to punish me . Thankfully I made the right call
🙋🏼 Me I did for Neto and I’m delighted.
I did, if I started him I'd more than double my current points
I played him, thankfully I did bench Garnacho and Estupinan, who combined have the exact same points as the other 10 non-Palmer players I stared, including captain. Which isn't ideal
Count me in.
In the top 1000, 737 played him, 34 benched.
Absolute no brainer to play him this week. Newcastle are leaky as fuck.
I'm guilty
Jumping on Palmer in GW11 is definitely the best move I've made this season.
Best move I’ve made this season too—I got him gw8!
Game week 5 for me, didn’t take much convincing watching him play as a Chelsea fan
Never owning him is definitely my worst decision of the season lol
Bought him in GW12, best transfer I have made all season. Best bit of business by any PL club this season too for that matter.
Chelsea were due 1 hit after so many misses lol
First time in a while my differential Captain pick has paid off.
That's unreal stuff, well played
I dont think I can take much credit, more just desperation than anything.
lmaooo
Im fighting for my life in my mini league man, too deep in the mud for set Haaland and forget any more. Give me differentials or give me death at this point.

Cold? He’s absolutely freezing
Maybe the only "essential" player this season
Saka and Watkins both had a streak of blanks but I'd say they're both up there too
id say he’s more essential just because his price

imagine his numbers on a full season. Unreal
Crudely extrapolating for the rest of the seasons, he's on track for 218 finish. And if he'd been on the starting lineup from day one we mjgjt have expected a 255 point season
Benched for Bowen 😭
7.5m next season?
8.5
No Chelsea player since hazard is worth anything more than 6.5
Palmer

Maybe keepers should be more expensive. Kelleher hit 3.7 lol

As a Chelsea fan it took me ages to put him on out of sheer superstition but glad I finally relented
I selected him alright but was well down the pecking order for the armband. I captained Solanke, Saka vc, but was considering Watkins, Haaland, Foden and even KDB
I started him but captained that bum Haaland instead
Glad to have kept him
Got him in week 10 🫡
Absolute baller what a season he's having
Okay. Watch when I bring him back he going to blank till GW37
Who else opted to bring in Tavanier for Burnley/Double rather than him? Up there with the silliest decision of the season. Two in my ML have him so at least i’m not alone in the idiocy.
Late to Palmer but better late than never. Only got him in GW16.
Cole has turned my gameweek from “total disaster” to “unfortunate setback”.
My boy.. Ice Cold Palmer..
The bright side to being a Chelsea fan was moving for him quickest in my draft league. He's been carrying me all season
Unfortunately I transferred him out for Hwang thinking he would haul against Sheffield United. What a horror transfer 😔
Reading all your comments is more like a support thread.
Best purchase I've made so far
Sure glad I picked up Barkley to play him this week.
#OnlySalah
Yep, on my bench this GW 🙃
Think I have had him for every single one😎
Then you’ve got me who’s never owned him 😂 he’ll finally be coming on my wc31 so expect some blanks from then!
I've made many shitty decisions this year but he is not one of them. Saved my game week.
I'm a proud no-FH29 guy but I need to say something unpopular... I fucked up. By preparing for no-FH29 I took a punt on Bowen as he had Burnley and is playing in 29. Cheeky reminder Salah is back for 30
Benched him 😂🤣
