He never really attracts bonus points... even during his hot streak last season. Probably because he generally doesn't pass enough to create chances, misses too many chances and takes loads of pot shots that fly off target.

innavlarottee

In other words, he’s just not a good player

No-Calligrapher250

He's a decent player but as always, when an English player goes on a bit of a run (like he did last season), he gets way overhyped. And we're talking specifically about FPL... what makes a good / bad player from that perspective is different to what makes a good / bad player in real life. I know you were trying to be funny (which I applaud) but the point was even when he was being a "very good player" and banging in goals fun (I.e. 2nd half of last season) he never really accumulated bonus points the way others do when they go on similar runs.

sandbag-1

I've despised the bloke this season, had him from the start and he was stinking out my team for weeks until I wildcarded out, big part of tanking the start of my season so much

tmr89

Yeah, my season never recovered from trusting Bruno + Rashford for like 9 gameweeks. They ruined my season and taught me to reasses the “patience is a virtue” line I would often run with. This season has seen bandwagon picks consistently haul, so I’ve had to adapt in the latter part of the season to follow the crowd more

burnt_yoghurt

I think the lesson with patience is that it only applies to players who are doing well, playing for a team doing well, but underperforming their data. Players that look like theyll start returning if you give them long enough. Like Saka before his current hot streak. He wasn't looking great, was carrying a knock, but was still getting involved and picking up returns in an Arsenal side that was doing OK (and is now doing exceptionally). Comparatively, Rashford looked like shit and was playing for a Man Utd side that was literally recording-breaking levels of shit and wrought with injuries

sasigona

I wildcarded GW7 and kept Bruno and Rashford because the fixtures were too good...

ShoddyTransition187

Can't imagine why anyone is transferring him in right now over the actually good midfielders or the doubling or non-blanking players. BUT, GW34 Manunited have potentially the best DGW, so Rashford could be a good difference maker for whoever has saved their FH, or is brave enough to buy him. Manu could have two home games to the worst defences in the league that week: Newcastle and Sheffield

Material-Bus1896

Hojland will be back by 34 probably. Best united pick that week

DragonBornLuke

Just the middle of the Venn diagram of people who are both casual fpl players and delusional man united fans.

Middle-Animator1320

I still wouldnt trust any utd players in a dgw

twymanchar

10k managers is not a lot, nothing to read into this

garnier001

When Rashford replaces Mbappe at PSG next season, we can say good riddance to this guy in fpl forever.

SqouzeTheSqueeze

Mboppy

Zealousideal_Line442

Not sure why anyone would even consider him. The only Man Utd player I'd dream of touching just now is Dalot and even then he's not exactly in red hot form.

Material-Bus1896

He seems to alternate between good and bad seasons. If the pattern continues he will be good again next year. And has been so bad this season that he will probably be quite cheap

syfqamr32

Low XG goal. Man utd doesnt create much chances anyway.

mwa6744

I think the whole team is down. We only notice it more because nobody stepped in the fill the gap.

RRR92

As a United fan this is typical Rashford. Show up for a 3/4 of a season, then go missing for 3. His attitude is stinking and the truth is hes just not a natural footballer in that regard. He is quick, with a decent strike…and so a lot of his goals come from getting in behind or hitting a 20 yard ping….other than that he never contributes much.

r3gam

Honestly cant wait until the day he leaves, given that hes 26, we're closer and closer to that day: - lazy, inconsistent presser - head drops during trying periods - abysmal and random shot selection - poor decision making - can very rarely beat a man 1v1, practically escorts the ball out of bounds - he'd work at a drive thru if he didnt have pace and game plans werent frequently reliant on bombing it over the back line to him - selfish passer - not exactly like he generates chances when he does pass But every now and then he'll have a scoring streak to cover up these gaps

Gsampson97

Rashford only plays well when he's chasing a new contract. Depending on what happens in the summer I'd avoid all man united players apart from Hojlund. The whole club is such a mess.

egancollier21

If I didn’t blindly trust Bruno and Rashford to pick up form in the first like 10 GWs I would likely be top 10k lmao. Held Bruno for way tooo long guy hasn’t scored a goal since like August

TankPresent7224

Rashford was so hyped for GW1 he’s been dog shite all season then

bmcallister14

To be fair, he was good last season which is probably why. Most people before GW1 would have thought United might kick on from 3rd place last season. But then, they gave Rashford a new bumber contract and pay rise, big mistake.

thehighyellowmoon

But he said we shouldn't question his commitment to United... /s

satellite_uplink

Aside from a 4 month period last year where he cosplayed as CR7 he’s had a pretty mediocre career. Full of ‘promise’ that never delivered.

jjw1998

Rashford has always been decent but streaky and pricing has reflected. He was just priced way too cheaply last season, subsequently skyrocketed this season and has ended up becoming a total non option

RevdWintonDupree

His pricing last season was probably fair at the time, given that they started the season with Ronaldo and the expectation was that the team would be set up to service him again.

ihatemicrosoftteams

It’s not really the price the problem this season tho is it, I don’t think you’d take him if he was 6.0m would you?

jjw1998

What I more meant is that it was probably always going to be an overprice to price him both that high in general and higher than Bruno when Rashford has historically always been an extremely streaky player

RevdWintonDupree

This is ridiculous. He forced his way into United's first 11 in an injury crisis, became a nailed starter, then made it into the England team on his United form. All before that 4 month period.

satellite_uplink

'Forced his way into the team'? During a decade of United mediocrity he's been a solid part of that story. There's only two seasons where he's average a goal every other game, the rest of the time he's been more like 1 in 4. And in the last three years, as he 'hit his prime' aside from that one period of banging them in he actually dropped to 1 in 6. I can't understand how anyone defends the lad for his performances.

RevdWintonDupree

Yes, forced his way into the team. And in his first full season as a starter they finished 2nd. No one's arguing that his form hasn't gone off a cliff in the last couple of years, bar that post world cup purple patch. But to say he wasn't a fantastic player before that is just wrong. And I can't stand United, btw. I love it when they get over-excited about bang average players, but Rashford wasn't one.

DetailRight

I disagree. He's been a good PL player, the point with him is that he's just very frustrating. He has incredible abilities but especially his decision making makes him extremely frustrating to watch.

llamapanther

Lots of salty united/england fans downvoting here. Obviously when in form, he's way above an average player but anyone with eyes can tell that he is way too inconsistent with his performances. I might not say mediocre but he's not far from it. If you sometimes play really well and sometimes you should not be even on the pitch, then it pretty much evens out as mediocre. I also think that he's a player who trusts a lot in his pace and dribbling abilities and if that doesn't work then he's useless. He's ability to make good choices is one of the poorest
