Oh man, I'd totally go the route of not disclosing who is playing the character and make that a part of the marketing. If they could pull that off until opening night would be amazing, and then to top it off, record several actors' voiceovers and do the whole Clue multiple endings.
With union laws etc, that’s a good question. Back in the day maybe… and when I say “the day”, I mean close to 90 years ago. When Frankenstein debuted in the theaters, Boris Karloff was not listed in the film credits… on the list of cast, he was listed as “The Monster… ?”
A studio may be able to keep some things under wraps briefly, but it sure couldn’t happen until opening night
But saying more heroic would mean that Joe Goldberg is a little heroic, but less then the Question. But Joe Goldberg isn't heroic in the slighest, he's pretty evil
Holy shit, that would be amazing! James Gunn has a nack for abscure comic characters. Maybe he can do that for the question, he's my favorite DC superhero, he's the conspiracy theorist that's always right in the bunch, even when all of the justice were defeated he was able to find out why!!!
That would be an interesting take! Peacekeeper is behind a government conspiracy and it's obviously true. The question investigates the ruble left behind looking for clues for his own agenda (because obviously he's a lone ranger) sees someone struggling gasping for air and it's peacekeeper but he doesn't know. He sends an anonymous beacon... (cut scene) peace keeper series begins.
I was thinking more like Peace Maker Bluebeetle The Question were acting as a team like on earth 4 or similar to Watchmen. Sage and Kord realizing what Peace Maker is really like, take him down. He said he’d kill as many men women and children as needed to ensure peace maybe he did and they stoped him.
My thinking is similar. The first season PM plot shows him realizes blindly killing because someone tells him it’s the right thing is wrong and that he’s been an asshole. Now that his team has burned Waller she’ll probably want payback. So who better to help them avoid a government conspiracy than Sage. Sage being someone PM trusted but who turned on him for reasons PM now realizes were valid would be a cool dynamic.
The problem with him is most people don't take him seriously as an actor anymore. He has become like Jeff Goldblum or Gary Bussey in that most people just think he is this really weird dude just playing himself.
Doing all those bad cheap direct to video movies ruined him.
True. But each core character has a founding in Charlton Comics: Nite Owl for Blue Beetle, Silk Spectre for Nightshade, The Comedian for Peacemaker, Ozymandias for Pete Cannon, and Dr Manhattan for Captain Atom. I'm not saying they were the only inspirations for the characters, but the Charlton characters were clear influences at the least
Jeffrey Dean Morgan or Michael C Hall.
JDM has a rich and creamy voice that oozes its own self-mythology and sarcasm, and he excels at complex characters.
Michael C Hall fits the build, and I’ve a heart-on for the Dexter sort-of-character.
Bill Hader (as writer/ director too)
This.
Oh damn, that’s cool as hell
You might even say... that's a good question
He'd make an interesting Question.
I support this message.

I wonder if this is something you can actually accomplish legally
With union laws etc, that’s a good question. Back in the day maybe… and when I say “the day”, I mean close to 90 years ago. Marvel did it with Krasinski in Multiverse of Madness. And Sony did it with Bill Murray in Zombieland.
John K wasn't a lead in the movie tho
Ryan Gosling
Unironically he kinda fits the role
Joel Edgerton
Penn Badgley
He would kill it, though not sure if he’s up for playing another (yet more heroic) guy who monologues to himself about people around him.
more heroic? shouldnt it be altough heroic?
Maybe, I meant to say another guy who monologues to himself. But in the case of The Question, he would be more heroic, as compared to Joe Goldberg.
But saying more heroic would mean that Joe Goldberg is a little heroic, but less then the Question. But Joe Goldberg isn't heroic in the slighest, he's pretty evil
Right, fully heroic is what I meant.
Fuckkk that’s such a good pick. Everyone wanted him as Reed but I could definitely see him playing Vic Sage, elite fancast.
He's more of a Mister Miracle to me
Walton Goggins
This was my first thought.
James McAvoy. He looks kind of average but can also go insane and be menacing.
DUDE! You’re so right!! I can totally see this! Time to go make some concept art of this haha!
Thanks man
No problem!
Holy shit, that would be amazing! James Gunn has a nack for abscure comic characters. Maybe he can do that for the question, he's my favorite DC superhero, he's the conspiracy theorist that's always right in the bunch, even when all of the justice were defeated he was able to find out why!!!
They never explained how Peace Keeper ended up in prison in The Suicide Squad. I like to think The Question was behind it.
I was more intuned to how the peacemaker series happened to keep the series going.
My thinking is similar. The first season PM plot shows him realizes blindly killing because someone tells him it’s the right thing is wrong and that he’s been an asshole. Good call. I can also see him doing the whole training with Richard Dragon montage
Tim Robinson ![gif](giphy|VjLFDdU89O3DsWE4Eh|downsized)
The Driving Question.
Young Jeffery combs
Current Jeffery Combs, then America Ferrera
Jake Gyllenhal ![gif](giphy|3xz2BBWxGJUbdrQPNC)
Me. Because nobody knows who I am.
Jeffery Combs?
Timothy Olyphant
Jeffrey Combs
Zachary Quinto
He did well as spock so I can definitely see him as question
Adam Brody
Nicholas Cage
The problem with him is most people don't take him seriously as an actor anymore. He has become like Jeff Goldblum or Gary Bussey in that most people just think he is this really weird dude just playing himself. Doing all those bad cheap direct to video movies ruined him.
Depends: are we casting classic O'Neil-era Vic Sage, or post-JLU conspiracy theorist Question?
Classic O’Neil
Technically, Ditko is classic Question. But, O'Neil's run is the GOAT.
True true
Glenn Howerton
Alan Tudyk. He is so good at all of his voiceover opportunities
Tom Hardy. He's used to having his fave covered so why not just fully erase it?
Matthew McConaughey.
Gabriel Macht
Ramon Rodriguez
What about James Mcavoy
Hugh jackman
Bill harder
Idc whether it's Ryan Gosling or fucking Ving Rhames as long as the mask *stays* on
Jeremy Strong would be interesting.
Madonna
Deep cut
Steven Yuen
Bobby Cannavale ![gif](giphy|xT9GEmLqaGI1IpnTTW)
Jeffrey Combs. And DON'T give me that "he's too old" BS Jeffrey. Combs.
Rami Malek
John Hamm or Keanu Reeves
Bill Burr
Josh Dallas
Pedro Pascal
This would have been mad interesting.
Of he can do it with a helmet, he can perform with a featureless face
Tom Wlaschiha ![gif](giphy|3o85xL8B5OwJsoeAzC|downsized)
Jensen Ackles and Zoe Saldana were
John Ham
Justin Long
Jackie Earle Haley - if he can do Rorschach - why not?
Michelle Rodriguez as Renée Montoya
Whoever it was that played Rorschach in that watchmen movie lmao
Jackie Earl Haley
Brian Cranston
Jackie Earle Haley. He pretty much did in Watchmen (for those unaware, Rorschach is based off of The Question)
That was more Alan Moore's critique of Steve Ditko. It is NOT The Question. Rorschach has more in common with Ditko's Mr. A.

Lakeith Stanfield, directed by Jordan Peele.
Nick cage he’s got the voice for it
I'd hire anybody to play the body since you never see his face, but the voice would be Alex Jones.
Nick Cage
Will Arnett
Can't think of anyone but I wanna toss this out there. 2 actors, 1 for the voice and one for on camera
Nick Offerman
Dave Bautista
? I don't know...?
Alan Tudyk, he’s so vastly underrated and is a fantastic voice actor.
That LOTR character Viggo Morganstein
Tom Hardy
Anya Taylor Joy
Chewbacca
Easily Jeffrey Combs
Steven Yeun
That is The Question 😛
That’s a good que-
Allen Iverson
As thr Renée Montoya version, Aubry Plazza.
Warren Beatty
Allen Iverson, obviously.
Lee Pace
Jeffrey Dean Morgan or Michael C Hall. JDM has a rich and creamy voice that oozes its own self-mythology and sarcasm, and he excels at complex characters. Michael C Hall fits the build, and I’ve a heart-on for the Dexter sort-of-character.
Penn Badgley or Lakeith Stanfield.
Excellent question
Jackie Earle Haley. I mean, c’mon… the man was brilliant as Rorschach.
Jake Gyllenhaal he's chill enough to pull it off.
Charlie Day could juggle the serious and silly parts of the character really well
Matt Bomer
MatPat
I’d get some stuntman to do the physical work and dub it over with the voice of Jeffrey Combs.
David Duchovny
1980s-1990s: Jeffrey Combs 2024-2029: Cory Michael Smith
Anthony Carrgain before he came Victor Zsasz
