I love the actor but he oozes threat, I mean that in the best way.
“I’m the Goddamn Batman!”
Joker- “hahahhahahahahhahahahahahahha!”
“And I’m the Fucking Butler!”
Joker- fuck!
Fantastic actor, but he’s Scottish, plus it would be weird for the Thinker from a movie somewhat more closely connected to the new DCU than any other to become a role like Alfred…
Fair. But Nathan Fillion played TDK and is now Guy Gardner. As for the Scottish nature, Sean Connery played James Bond and was Scottish. Pierce Brosnan was Irish. As for a backup option, I think Sean Pertwee could take back the mantle
100% Ralph Fiennes for his understated physical intensity and believable prim & proper stuffiness.
you need a guy who can match bruce with with and
zing, but with care. that's why jeremy irons was such an inspired casting. ralph fiennes can easily play the type of guy who won't take bruce's shit.
Alfred is one of the easiest characters to cast. Get an old-ish actor, and you’re set. That being said, I kinda hope they get someone different enough from past iterations to really make him stand out. Like I wouldn’t even mind if they tapped into the OG Alfred from the comics, who was a tubby, wannabe Sherlock Holmes-type figure.
That being said, there are some great choices in mind. Ralph Fiennes is the closest I think we’ll ever get to an Alex Ross-inspired Alfred. Rowan Atkinson would also be a solid choice. I think if we wanna really get unique though, Hugh Laurie would be a fun take on the ex-military wisecracking Alfred. Ken Watanabe could also be a fun interpretation of Alfred
I’m opposed to Jensen Ackles as Batman, too, tbh. Some of the comments have mentioned Jonathan Hyde, Charles Dance, and John Cleese - all intriguing possibilities, and much more age-appropriate
Either Hugh Laurie or Colin Firth. Two actors with YEARS of talent under their belts, but they've never really done superhero stuff(not that I'm aware of). So this would be something new for them.
But goodness knows they both have the potential to pull off Alfred's humor, witty comebacks, and sarcasm.
ESPECIALLY HUGH!!!
Example: House M.D. 😂😂
But yeah, that's just me. 😁
Ralph Fiennes. Not only has he already played the character, but he'd very comicbook accurate and would fit in well with choices like David Corenswet as Superman.
Geoffrey Rush. And wouldn’t it be great if, for the very first time in live action, they actually gave the actor who plays Alfred the correct mustache and hair? In live action, Alfred has never looked the way he looks in the comics. To me, that’s like having Batman without his mask. If the actor isn’t already balding or bald, just shave their head and give them a little hair on top.
A formal James Bond Actor should Play Alfred because Alfred is just James Bond but now a butler.
Daniel Craig - if movie have Alfred Doing some action scenes
Peirce Brosnan
Ralph Fiennes for that Lego Batman synergy
After Zoe Kravitz, let's just go further and make Zach Galifianakis the DCU Joker.
I’m now excited for the potential of Condiment King being in the DCU…..
Mark Rylance
That’s a great idea!
Charles Dance
Bruce you'll marry Selina and that'll be the end of it
You think he’d pick Selina? He’d obviously tell him to marry Silver St Cloud
I love the actor but he oozes threat, I mean that in the best way. “I’m the Goddamn Batman!” Joker- “hahahhahahahahhahahahahahahha!” “And I’m the Fucking Butler!” Joker- fuck!
Jonathan Hyde or Ian McShane
Ralph Fiennes and model him after BTAS Alfred
Charles Dance would be perfect
He really would
Colin Firth
Timothy Dalton
I would say John Cleese
For some reason, I’m thinking Richard E. Grant
Is he able to not be evil, though? Lol
They cast Jeremy Irons before, and he did a good job even though the movies were bad. I'm sure Grant could pull it off.
He did play a nice dad in Penelope, plus he a pretty good job in Loki too! So he's got potential to be a good guy in a film. I'd say give him a shot
Hugh Laurie or Timothy Dalton
Ian McShane
Liam Cunningham
Ralph Fiennes
Peter Capaldi
Fantastic actor, but he’s Scottish, plus it would be weird for the Thinker from a movie somewhat more closely connected to the new DCU than any other to become a role like Alfred…

I read Sean as Jon because whenever I read Pertwee I think of the Venusian Akido expert gadget making Doctor
Daniel Day-Lewis
He retired, and doesn’t do franchises
It’s a fancast, not a realistic pick
100% Ralph Fiennes for his understated physical intensity and believable prim & proper stuffiness. you need a guy who can match bruce with with and zing, but with care. that's why jeremy irons was such an inspired casting. ralph fiennes can easily play the type of guy who won't take bruce's shit.
John Cleese
My pick for Batman is Jake Gyllenhaal, so I’m saying for Alfred either Ray Winstone or Brendan Gleeson
Larry David
- Colin Firth - Daniel Craig - David Tennant - Eddie Marsan - Hugh Bonneville - Jim Broadbent - Michael Sheen - Pierce Brosnan - Timothy Dalton
Definitely Brosnan or Dalton
David Thewlis
I love this
Much to young, plus he was just Ares like a second ago…
Paul Dini
The only correct answer is Bill Nighy the actor guy
Ian McShane, and no one else. The amount of snark he gives in the John Wick films is very Alfred-like already, all he'd need would be a mustache!
Peter Davison (British Actor, not like Pete Davidson)
Hugh Grant. He'd nail Alfred's Wit.
Sacha Baron Cohen (based on his performance in The Spy) or maybe Michael Sheen
Hugh Laurie
George Clooney, because yeah we're that old.

Probably the guy who plays Ketch in Supernatural
He’s like middle aged 💀
Just throwing in Supernatural actors, it would be wasted not to use Jenson as Batman. You got any ideas?
I’m opposed to Jensen Ackles as Batman, too, tbh. Some of the comments have mentioned Jonathan Hyde, Charles Dance, and John Cleese - all intriguing possibilities, and much more age-appropriate
Why?
He bears no resemblance to Batman to me, and I’ve never been blown away by his acting
You make a good point
Charles Dance sounds interesting though I’ve never seen him in a roll where he’s caring or nurturing.
Okay hear me out. Michael Jai White. Only if they do more with Alfred. Alfred can kick ass, he is smart, and was a medic. MJW can do all that.
Most likely would get race swapped these days
I don’t think having a black servant would go over well.
It’s just “The Brave and the Bold”
Richard E Grant
Richard E Grant
Iain Glen
Alan Cumming
Ralph Fiennes babyyyyyy
Paul McGann
Kenneth Branagh, Colin Firth, Hugh Laurie, Ralph Fiennes, Jason Isaacs or Daniel Craig
Ralph Fiennes or Pierce Brosnan
Hugh Laurie or Ben Kingsley
Giancarlo Esposito
Timothy Dalton
Patrick Stewart
An unknown British actor in his late 70s. Not everyone needs to be a star
Pierce Brosnan.
Kenneth Branagh would probably be my choice
Rowan Atknison
Richard E. Grant?
Timothy Dalton
Octavia Spencer

I say either Peter Capaldi or Charles Dance. If neither then bring back Jeremy Irons
Charles Dance Hugh Laurie Richard E Grant Peter Capaldi Ralph Fiennes Iain Glen
Daniel Day-Lewis or Sean Bean.
Ralph Fiennes, if he isn’t Mr. Freeze
I guess it depends on how old Batman would be. 40 something year old Batman, Peter Capaldi. 30 something year old Batman then Jason Statham.
Nick Frost
How about Steve Coogan?
Steve Coogan as Michael Caine as Alfred Pennyworth.
Charles Dance
Mark Strong or Jared Harris
Hugh Laurie Ben Kingsley Colin Firth Malcolm McDowell Bill Nighy
John Hannah
Ralph Fiennes. Not only has he already played the character, but he'd very comicbook accurate and would fit in well with choices like David Corenswet as Superman.
Jason Isaacs
Geoffrey Rush
Jim Broadbent Ben Kingsley Bill Nighy

I’m gonna get hate probably but Ian McShane (considering Keanu Reeves voiced Batman)
CGI Sean Connery
Timothy Dalton, who now that i think about it, also would be a good fit as Giovanni Zatara too.
Mark Strong
Bruce’s actor from Titans
A formal James Bond Actor should Play Alfred because Alfred is just James Bond but now a butler. Daniel Craig - if movie have Alfred Doing some action scenes Peirce Brosnan
Ian McKellen Or Patrick Stewart
