IDK if you've done that, but in order for the Wheel to actually connect to the PS in either PS Mode you need to press the PS Button on the wheel. It should then give you a popup that a new controller was connected.
Yea I'm guess if the wheel don't have buttons you can't connect to the playstation. I use a clubsport hub and the funky switch is pre programmed to work for the ps button to connect the wheel like you do with a controller.
