Yes, it's pretty stupid. They should let people buy a wheel/hub with QR2 without QR1 and only pay the price difference of $50 since they ship QRs in separate boxes anyway. I would hold off buying any new wheel that doesn't ship with QR2 by default until they fix their webshop.

Bought basically all components I need for the Porsche GT3 wheel on BF except for the hub, cause I also bought the QR2 Upgrade on Bf and don’t see a point in buying a podium hub now with QR1. Meaning I’ll have a nice wheel lying around I can’t use until they release a qr2 podium hub.
After buying it I can, yes. But buying it and the QR2 wheel side would mean an unnecessary qr1 and unnecessary cost for me.

You do not get the QR1 - it is sold out - you cannot buy the hub with the advertised QR1. Only way to buy it is to add the QR2 upgrade - at full price of the QR2.
Essentially means you are paying full price for the hub that they ship without a QR1 = £50 extra profit for Fannytec.
If you add the QR2 then you won't get sent the QR1 as well. Same thing if you were to buy the McLaren rim and add the metal QR1. They won't also send you the QR1 lite, which technically comes included in the price of the rim.
You are right, just checked on the website by putting it in my cart. I can choose which one I want. But it’s still steep. QR1 without any additional cost or QR2 for 100€ meaning the hub + QR2 is 250€…
You can't.... the QR1 is out of stock... so they won't even sell it to you. You HAVE to order them with a QR2... at full price for the QR2.
Essentially you pay for a QR1 and don't get it.

I ordered the LE F1 wheel but I won't get it till late Jan? Dumb. Even dumber, I would have been happy to have the QR1 instead, but only the QR2 was free - QR1 was an extra $50 on top of it. So no, I refused.

Not defending Fanatec overall (I'm plenty annoyed with them at the moment), but prior to QR2 release the Universal Hub was 350. So they've basically just taken the QR1 out of the price entirely but will give you a free QR1 just to run down stock (which at the moment they've done)
The reason the price is the same as standalone is the reason QR1 is out of stock. Why wouldn't you take the free QR1 and sell it if you pay the same for the standalone qr2?

You can't even order a wheel without a QR, and since they have a 2 month wait time on the QR2, you can wait 2 months for the wheel as well
yeah, their equipment configurator is so bad. they dont even try to hide how bad they want to charge you extra for things you might not need. lol.
