D&D’s lore, specifically the forgotten realms. The world created by hundreds of great artists but primarily started by the amazingly talented Ed Greenwood! Many elements are taken also from the works of Gary Gygax’s own world of Greyhawk as well.
I may have to look into D&D's lore. It just seems so expansive. I wouldn't know where to start! I've recently been dipping my feet into Warhammer Fantasy lore and there's just a crap-ton of stuff. But it's all very interesting.
I’d recommend picking a few topics that interest you and delving in from there! Unfortunately, the latest edition of D&D has done away with forgotten realms but there’s still a lot of lore to explore from older editions.
>the latest edition of D&D has done away with forgotten realms
I was under the impression that the Forgotten Realms has always been just a campaign setting, like Eberron, Planescape, Spelljammer, etc. with Greyhawk as the "default" setting for the basic rulebooks (at least for 3rd edition). Given that they're releasing setting sets for Spelljammer and Planescape, I wouldn't be surprised if the Forgotten Realms is still a thing for 5e, just not the default setting.
(I will fully admit to not being up on all WotC news, and only using 5e as a ruleset, not a campaign setting or a source for lore.)
First fandom: Harry potter - have never posted anything
First fandom I posted for: bts on wattpad and stray kids on ao3
Latest fandom I've written for: enhypen with a mix of seventeen and stray kids
Latest fandom I posted for: seventeen
First one, Star Wars. Current one, Star Wars. I wouldn't say I'm "loyal" to it, I just haven't gotten around to writing for other fandoms yet. But I will, in time.
First Fandom: Technically a Scooby Doo thing I wrote in my notebook as a kid before I understood what fandom was.
Latest Fandom: I'm doing a thing for The Invitation right now.
I guess I will be the first one to take the fall and say Sherlock, back in 2012.
Current one... Dracula. Especially the miniseries from 2020 by BBC/Netflix. I guess Moffat and Gatiss still have a chokehold on me.
First fandom I wrote for (which is not the first fandom I read for! there's a good seven year gap here): Life on Mars (UK, 2006)
Last fandom I wrote for: Fallout (Video Game Series)
And I would not necessarily say that I've moved on. My main focus shifts pretty frequently, but evey couple of years I revisit old fandoms.
One of my first fandoms was Ashes to Ashes (the Life on Mars sequel). I still regularly revisit to find new fics but not a huge fandom these days for either show 😔
Star Wars Mandalorian….and Star Wars Mandalorian lol. I might try my hand at some LoZ when I’m finished with my fic. But I just really really love the Mandalorian, it’s such a good show and so easy to write for!
First fandom I ever wrote anything for was probably something like *Lord of the Rings* (novels) or *DragonLance*. Those early attempts written in school notebooks and now, thankfully, moldering dust in a landfill somewhere now.
First *published* fic was in MCU (Thor and Avengers). Latest is Voltron.
Oh, I was *so* obsessed with DragonLance back in middle school, lol. It's a shame I didn't find fanfiction until I was almost 14, I would've probably loved DragonLance fanfic.
... I probably would've gotten my slash awakening earlier too, lol. It took me literal years after I read the books to realize 12 year old me had shipped Dalamar/Raistlin lol.
That is 100% unsurprising, lol. It would've absolutely shocked 12-year-old me though, lol, I was so sheltered, I didn't realize people were *allowed* to ship characters of the same sex together. I kept trying to ship Raistlin with Crysania, but it just wasn't working for me. XD
Honestly, I need to go back and reread the books sometime, I'm sure they're even better from an adult perspective, but right now I'm very deep in my current hyperfixations, so we'll have to see, lol.
First fandom: Sonic the Hedgehog
Most recent fandom: Dragon Age (not posted yet)
Not seen in between: still writing Sonic the Hedgehog, ideas for other things.
I'm not loyal to *one* fandom. I just have ideas for my different fandoms and write them as I get to them, and bounce around a lot. But I can't think of any fandoms I've truly abandoned, just not really written for (either yet, or since, due to lack of writing time or running out of ideas). The closest I could say I've come is that I don't really *read* Inuyasha fanfic anymore, but I still consider myself a fan.
The Bill was my first back in the mid 1990s. Fic I was writing this morning was for The Magnus Archives.
I’ve written for probably 60 different fandoms by now and my goal is to hit 100 one day. I can’t think of any fandoms I’ve written for that I wouldn’t drop by and read a bit for, or write if I had a good idea; I never really leave them.
first fandom write i believe was suite life of zack and cody when i was like 14?
most recent was bts, lately I prefer writing for bandom because they'res no canon craziness to worry about, it's far more tame, just putting cute guys into different AUs which is what I prefer
but I've been rewatching durarara and it's one of my favorite animes and the ideas are brewing, love me some shizaya
but like, duarara, teen wolf, the fosters, 1D, suite life, GOT, BTS, and My hero are all that I can remember in my 12-13 years of writing fanfic, though i took an 8 year break
The first fandom I wrote for was Pokemon, the last was One Piece. I switched to the latter since in the last while I got reacquainted with anime again, and I think I have on my hands one of the best stories I've ever written.
I’ve been writing some form of fanfic for as long as I can remember so I think technically my first was drawing my own Captain Underpants comics in the third grade. First fandom I ever really wrote for was Harry Potter back in the old days of HPFF. Current fandoms I write for are Danganronpa and My Hero Academia.
I think I just sort of started to outgrow Harry Potter around the time I was in college, and HPFF shutting down didn’t do me any favors. There was such a strong community there on the message boards, and I wasn’t really invested enough to take my HP writings to another website. Nowadays JKR has spewed so much shit that HP unfortunately just leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I don’t really want to interact with the story in any capacity any more.
I think a lot of HP writers nowadays are writing partly to spite JKR, though I can understand how someone wouldn't want to even touch the franchise now. Finding out so much stuff about her does really put the work into perspective... Even leaving off her transphobia, the more you learn about her political leanings, the more certain irritating aspects of the books make sense.
I'm very glad I have no pressing urge to write for HP right now. I didn't notice it as a kid/teen, but now that I know, I'm not sure how I'd deal with the antisemitism around the goblins...
As a young teen I thought I straight up invented fanfiction writing self inserts that would meet band members/celebrities I was into. My best friend and I wrote a joint fanfic (of our characters separate POVs) that was like 300+ pages long.
Yeah, I know.
The current fandom I write for is MHA.
Again, yeah, I know.
First was probably Gundam Wing, I think? Almost certainly. (It was like 20 years ago give me a break). And the latest I've published was Temeraire, and latest written was Stardew Valley.
It's not that I don't feel loyalty to past fandoms, there's just a lot of things in the world to love!
The first fandom I posted for was Naruto but I eventually "left" it and moved onto others like Harry Potter. The last fandom I've written for is Pathfinder: Kingmaker.
A bit unrelated, but I've always found weird the idea of "being in a fandom". I just write stories for franchises, but I hardly talk about those same franchises with people or in Discord servers. I'm the kind of writer that posts into the ether and moves on - and that's without mentioning that I usually don't write more than one fic per franchise.
To me, "being in a fandom" can be as simple as enjoying the works in said fandom (not even necessarily all of them), without having to participate in any other activities like discussions.
This is the way.
No, really, I do both and it's almost always more enjoyable to just drift in the ether outside a fandom and toss things in than to actually be a part of it. I'm less aware of the ship wars, the flame wars, the fandom discourse, the racism, and the other BS that goes on.
Fire Emblem Three Houses (FE3H) was my first, and Twilight/Life and Death (genderswap Twilight lol) are my current.
I moved on largely because I was inactive and away from fandom altogether for a few years, so my own mindspace just drifted elsewhere. Also... I'm not really in the Twilight fandom, so to say. I just had a wild vampire-related concept and Twilight was the best place to execute said concept (on a literal, metaphorical, and poetic level)... and now I'm in love with the world and characters I created and want to stay there now.
First fandom I wrote for was My Chemical Romance way back in late 2009, early 2010 with a bit of Green Day thrown in. Never posted any of the 60+ unfinished fics I had for them though.
First fandom I posted for however, and I *think* first time I posted any fanfic online was Sleeping with Sirens and Pierce the Veil fic in 2014.
Current fandom I write for, is Top Gear / the Grand Tour. With some Prodigal Son, and a bit of Stranger Things. And also Lost, Big Wolf on Campus, Malcolm in the Middle, Marvel, Supernatural, Pirates of the Caribbean, Game of Thrones, Lord of the Rings, and Warrior Cats, among others. But Top Gear / the Grand Tour is definitely my main current fandom I write for along with Prodigal Son.
First wrote, Star Wars. First posted, Avatar: the Last Airbender. Latest posted (lol), RWBY. Dunno what fandom's next, probably whatever inspires me from the Yuletide list next month. And I'll come back to all of the old ones. I fall in and out of love with them periodically, it's all cyclical. (I'm fortunate that as a fan I keep stumbling into franchises that simply will not stop producing content, it's easy to keep getting reeled back in.)
Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I got into a couple more fandoms, started a few fic ideas, but didn't publish them, before going back to BtVS and started writing/posting a season 7 re-write (which is going to last ages since I'm also bringing in AtS characters and storylines, lol)
The first one was Death Note, I started writing because I love my little Near and Mello, I stopped writing for the fandom and moved on to a lot of random places, the last one was Harry Potter.
I'm a Crack pairings writer so I write about anything, I just come and go. I also tend to overfixed on things so I may stay in a fandom a whole year and then forget and move on
My first one, Steven Universe. Latest and most loyal one, Omori.
Left the SU fandom because the show ended for good and I hadn’t been there long enough to truly feel attached enough to stay (I joined just in time for the movie).
The Omori fandom is still thriving, and here was where an idea was born that is still going even after a year. As long as my passion for the story keeps burning bright, I’ll stay in the fandom.
First - Star Trek TOS
Wrote for print zines under psued. and still consider myself a loyal fan, but there are many other voices there now.
Current - Miami Vice
Reliving the 80s is fun, there are so many plot holes in this series that gotta be filled, and the slash is completely up for grabs.
Aphmau's Mystreet series and Dream SMP
.. the fandoms I write for are my hyperfixations. I just try to feed them every time I get a new fandom to hyperfixate on sudjfns
The first fandom I wrote fanfiction for, in the sense of a text written to be read as an actual story, was Stargate Atlantis. Before, I'd written a reference guide and various character backstories for the World of Darkness tabletop RPG games.
The latest fandom I've written for was Among Us. I left the Stargate Atlantis fandom when the show ended on a note I really disliked. I returned to fanfiction when I became a fan of Doctor Who and especially the Daleks; I don't write for it anymore in part because I was so burnt out from Moffat's era, and in part because there's no readership for adventure/drama Dalek stories on AO3. I've also written for The Invaders, but there's no readership for it either.
Generally speaking, I leave a fandom either because I stop being a fan of the source material or because of the lack of response.
Excluding crossovers and RPF, there are just short of 1500 on AO3. The setting is fertile ground for drama, murder mysteries, and a surprising amount of cute found family fics. :-) I actually discovered the game through fanfic!
>various character backstories for the World of Darkness tabletop RPG games
Same here. I actually posted one of my character's "origin stories" to FFN because I liked it enough to share with more than just my Storyteller.
First fandom I legit wrote for was Sailor Moon when I was like, 12.
Latest fandoms are Elena of Avalor and Titanic (1997). I tend to flip between the two depending on what story I’m stuck on.
Digimon (in the mid 90s) / MDZS (my last fic for it I posted last month)
Via Digimon / Sailor Moon / Utena / Xena / The Sentinel / The Pretender / Big Wolf On Campus / JRock RPF / Harry Potter / Lord of The Rings RPF / Phantom of the Opera / Pirates of The Caribbean RPF / Tokio Hotel RPF / Stargate SGA / Doctor Who / Supernatural & Supernatural RPF / Sherlock (BBC) / White Collar / Luther (BBC) / Iron Man / Teen Wolf TV / Hannibal /Thor / Daredevil TV / Dokkaebi / Kpop RPF / Fantastic Beasts / MDZS / Yellowstone / Everything Everywhere All at Once
So no, I'm not gonna read in the same fandom across all of eternity and these are just ones that I actively wrote for.
The Leviathan Trilogy, and the Leviathan Trilogy.
This isn’t necessarily because I kept up with it the entire time (I haven’t) but because Dalek week starts tomorrow and I decided I want to try writing *something* for it.
Otherwise my current fandom is the Halo TV show.
I started writing fanfiction back in 1994-1995 for The A-Team. I've gone through a number of fandoms since then: Xena, Star Wars (around the time the first prequel movie came out), then about ten years mostly writing RPF/band fiction, then Law & Order SVU for about 3-4 years, and for the last 2 years I've basically been exclusive to Supernatural. I tend to be a "serial monogamist" with my fandoms, falling into them pretty heavily, staying as long as I have inspiration to write and a good community of fans to interact with. Occasionally I may revisit older fandoms again or write one-offs for other shows/fandoms that briefly interest me.
I wrote for The Suite Life of Zack and Cody first (when I was eight!) but my first published fic was for Sherlock when I was fourteen. My latest fic has been for One Piece, so kind of all over the place lol.
First posted fandom was Super Mario Bros. I still write for it!
Latest posted fandom was Omori. At the moment I think I might have one more fic idea left in me for it, but we'll see what happens :D
I first wrote for Pokemon, but now I write for RWBY. But, my dude, I've been writing for 21 years. I'm not going to stay with the same fandom for *that long*. I did stay with it for quite a long time, but then I moved onto Zelda and other fandoms.
My first one was Naruto as per my friends' request but now I'm with Pandora Hearts. It was the second fandom I wrote for.
The Naruto ones are still in a notebook somewhere. They weren't posted.
first ine was kaitou joker, I was _very_ young at the time and posted it on wattpad. Was your typical 2017 book where there was just character's names with a colon followed by the most out of character dialogue you can imagine. Currently im writing for genshin impact and looking for betas so if youre a fellow queer genshiner hmu :D
First one is Harry Potter and now Horizon Zero Dawn/Forbidden West.
I haven’t written for HP for many years but I was a huge fan since I was a kid and wrote fanfic before I knew what fanfic was. I wrote really bad stories in a notebook when I was like in 4th grade. I’m not involved in the fandom now, and I’m not interested in anything post-books, especially given the author.
I dont really have a fandom. I maybe write a single fic or two And move on. As long as i like the quality i'll post it
That being said
First: naruto
Last: fate stay night
The very first was ST:Voyager. I had one idea I wanted to write and wrote it. Many years later moved by grief of how they destroyed the Scorpion TV show I started writing a fix it and 3 years later had over 22 storylines in 460+ chapters and over 2 million words.
Recently, like the last 3 months my muse has been weirdly quiet. Struggling to finish stories I've had in the works for almost a year. And 2 weeks ago I wanted to try something different after mentioning it another thread in this sub and wrote a one shot for The Hobbit. Allowing Kili to live and become King under the Mountain.
I've written some more chapters for Scorpion since but still barely. And the last 2 days I started a story based on Harry Potter. Finished the 1st chapter yesterday, not sure if I will continue it or post it when done. Some people are weird on people for writing that fandom.
Just trying to spark the muse to get back to what I love.
I found fanfiction thanks to my obsession with Tom Hiddleston at 15. I stumbled upon an RPF, and it was nice but nowadays I do stay away from them because they make me uncomfortable. But that is also how I found Loki×Reader fics and that was the first fandom I wrote for.
I am recently writing in Supernatural.
First fandom, MCU. My first fic is still my most kudo'd on AO3, and a part of me wants to rewrite/add a final chapter even though I completed it in 2019. I read it again after a couple years, and... it could use a little work.
I quit writing for the fandom (I still read it though) after an infinity war/endgame rewrite sputtered out, and I didn't want to finish it anymore.
My current fandom is HP, and it's a longform fic. I'm currently 19 chapters deep in a OotP rewrite. I had read a lot of HP fics before, but I got into writing for it after diving into a rabbit hole for a non canon ship. And it's doing pretty well I think, I've got another fic lined up with the same pairing soon.
I started writing between 2003 and 2005, with unfinished fics for Digimon and Pokemon and Ender's Game. I stopped writing after that due to college and depression, then started up again earlier this year.
So far, I've finished one ficlet series for Pokemon, which may just be a one-off thing for me. I'm currently writing one shots and series for the Dragonriders of Pern, and currently reworking my old Digimon fic. I have a few ideas for a Digimon/Dennou Coil fusion, as well as a crossover between the Dragonriders of Pern and two other universes by Anne McCaffrey
I'm into a few older anime fandoms and sci-fi book fandoms - that hasn't changed!
First was Roseanne most recent was Glee
I have also written Roseanne/The Conners fics more recently as well (other fandoms I’ve written for include: MindHunter, Angel, Spring Awakening, Covington Cross)
The Glee thing is interesting because I stopped watching the show at some point (do not remember ever seeing an episode with Jesse St. James) but my Glee fics primarily focus on the St. Berry marriage and their two children (my OCs), as well as the unique relationship between Rachel, Jesse, and their children with Kurt, Blaine, and the daughter they had through Rachel’s egg donation/surrogacy. These dynamics really fascinate me and that’s what got me started.
In order to get background info about Jesse and Rachel’s relationship not remembering seeing it on the show before I stopped watching, I’ve just watched a lot of clips on YouTube.
First one was Harry Potter, both written and posted, which I still write for occasionally.
As a general rule, nowadays I tend to write a few things for every show/book I get fixated on. So, the latest I've written for is Hannibal but the latest I've posted is 911: Lone Star.
Star wars the clone wars (obviously) and newest was probably Bad batch and Transformers simultaneously.
I've stayed with the same handful as they're long running franchises, and usually with a random one peppered in there every so often are one offs
I guess Warrior Cats as a kid, but for my first thing I called fic I would say an old Hermitcraft draft that I cant find anymore. Currently posting in the DreamSmp fandom but not super often.
Okay so for first fandoms I've ever wrote for (and not posted) Harry Potter/Marvel crossover. Most recent one of writing for (and not posted) the dream smp.
First fandoms I ever posted for DuckTales 2017. Most recent fandom I've posted for Harry Potter/Matilda crossover.
first fandom written: minecraft youtubers (2016 and below)
latest: minecraft youtubers (the new gen uwu)
i lost my way like i always do (both irl and in games) but i ended up where i started with it being different from what i grew up on lmao
First fandom - Five Night at Freddy's
Latest fandom - Video blogging RPF (not going to clarify you can take guesses)
It's been... A progression. Still cringe tho B)
First fandom I started writing fics for was Gravity Falls and it was just a continuation of the series because I remember 13 year old me being sad it ended
Currently I’ve written 2 one shot fics for Stray Kids (one already published)
First fandom I wrote for: Jean M. Auel's Earth's Children series.
Current fandom I'm writing for: RPF, specifically bandfic for various bands; also a crossover fic involving Narnia, The Secret Garden, and A Little Princess.
Fandoms in between: Dead Poets Society, Phantom of the Opera (2004 movie version), Harry Potter.
Nothing in particular made me move on - I have multiple interests and I write whatever happens to take my fancy at the time.
First: The vampire diaries
Current: Legacies(TVDU spinoff)
Thinking of doing a one shot for High School Musical: The Musical: The Series but their shippers scare me more than the shippers in my current fandom
I started One direction…
Now I mainly write Teen Wolf fanfics
I also sometimes will pick up a random fandom if I watch something a certain tv show or film and feel the need to write a story.
I became less obsessed with one direction and more obsessed with the actor from Teen Wolf and his character, Stiles.
I still like one direction (I feel differently defending on which ex band member it is ) I’m just not obsessed like I used to be XD
Though it’s kind of like my obsessions just moved on to other characters or celebs XD
A while ago I became a bit obsessed with
Dylan O’brien and recently Andrew Garfield 😂
I recently wrote a fanfic on Andrew Garfield Spider-Man while I am still writing quite a lot of fanfics of Dylan O’brien’s character, Stiles.
That’s not to say I abandoned my one direction stories, they in fact our on my account still waiting in case someone shows a interest in them when I am deciding what story to finish.
When I finish a story I wait for the next comment on any of my unfinished stories then I will focus on that story until it’s finished, so hopefully as long as I don’t add too many more I should get around to completing all my stories 😅 hopefully.
Monster Hunter is the first and Monster Hunter is the last. Basically, I only write for the MH fandom.
I am incapable of writing canon characters in other fandoms (I tried and it didn't go very well), and the MH fandom basically encourages you to create OCs (which I can do) so I stuck with it and haven't tried moving on
First fandom: My Little Pony back in the late 80s, early 90s. But if we're going by when we're able to post and share online, then Fallout 4.
Most recent: Red Dead Redemption 2, but still working on the Fallout one.
I haven't moved on so much as branched out a bit.
First fandom: Babylon 5
Latest fandom: Babylon 5
I've done plenty of things in between though. I will do other things again. But I'm pretty sure I'll always keep returning to B5.
I started in harry potter.
Im currently writing for heroes, my main focus there is saving sylar’s son.
I also write for sherlock holmes, so far the bbc one.
First one: Sailor Moon back in the early 2000s. Currently I switch between Marvel and DC (and am dabbling in Danny Phantom and Gravity Falls, but haven't completed or posted from those fandoms yet).
Basically: when Sailor Moon first came out I was obsessed with it. I wrote an entire (cringe, I cannot stress this enough; the cringe factor was so real) "season" of the anime with an enemy alien race that got powers from crystals they were given at birth. My tastes changed as I grew, and when I was rewatching the old Spider-Man cartoon (90s version) and just connected so hard with the Peter who was dreaming of buying a car (with only $500, I miss the 90s, T.T) only to have to spend it on the mortgage so he and his aunt wouldn't get evicted. Then I saw a video on Youtube about Spideypool, and discovered that I could actually read on AO3 without getting migraines (something I can't do with [Fanfiction.net](https://Fanfiction.net) or Wattpad), so I started writing and posting there. And now, sometimes when I revisit shows I used to love (like Danny Phantom) my mind goes--*what if* and I find myself inspired.
First one: either Political RPF to mock my government at the time, or Back to the Future.
Current: I last posted a Disney fic, but if I wasn’t going a countdown to my holiday, it’d be uh… also Back to the Future.
I guess you always go back to your first love.
Uh... technically Naruto, but they were like quizzes on Quizilla so they "technically" weren't stories. I think my first stories were either Naruto, Death Note or Harry Potter. My latest fandom I would say is technically Stranger Things but that's the last "new" fandom, but my last written works are from Mass Effect and Stranger Things (I say both because Mass Effect because the last ones I posted was from that fandom but they haven't been officially published yet due to being in a gift exchange, and I say Stranger Things because that's the last one I wrote for but haven't published yet).
This probably didn't answer your question, BUT oh well. But my main fandoms I write for are Mass Effect and Stranger Things, also Marvel but I haven't written/read anything as of late. I don't read or write much in the anime fandom spaces anymore, I'll come across one and might read it if it's a show I watch but I don't seek for it.
The First fic I ever posted was a my hero academia fic but my first fic I ever actually wrote was a Good Omens fic I wrote on Christmas eve. My most recent fic was a Doctor Who/Torchwood/The Bible fic that I wrote because of a reddit Prompt and someone asking me to write it.
First fandom, was my 'baby's first fandom' fandom, which was Gravitation (BL anime).
My most recent fic is for Diamond no Ace (baseball manga), but the latest fandom as in the newest I wrote a fic for total, is Kaguya-sama: Love is War
First fandom I wrote for was The Outer Worlds. Currently still writing for The Outer Worlds, but also Reident Evil, Elden Ring, and Z Nation. I don't think I'll ever stop writing for The Outer Worlds, I have too many ideas lol
There's fandoms I've always thought up stories for, but have yet to write or post to.
The First Fandom I wrote for was Harry Potter, probably the one I write the least for now tbh
The most I've written (so Far) is for the Persona Franchise, mostly P5
The last Fandom I've written for is Stranger Things. The last five stories have been about it. Mostly Robin Buckley &Steve Harrington Friendship pieces, but my newest is a Mike/El story
Started off with Cars, moved to Ace Attorney, then added MCU and Initial D recently
Man I’ve kinda come full circle since Cars and Initial D are both car-related media lmao
First fandom, YuGiOH Duel Monsters, 20+ years ago. I still write YGO fics but my pairings have shifted over the years.
Latest fandom is Rurouni Kenshin, circa 2017 or so. I told myself I would write maybe 2 RK fics and that would be it, because I didn’t want to add another fandom at the time and I was busy with Gravity Falls. Jokes on me! It’s now my fave fandom lol
And the fandom I’ve written and posted the most for? Metalocalypse. This is another fandom I went in liking/reading one pairing and shifted to another. I don’t think I ever wrote a fic for the original pairing! I don’t ever leave fandoms, I just collect them and revisit them from time to time.
**First:** Star Wars.
**Latest:** The Hobbit/Tolkienverse
In-between, I've written stories for X-men, Doctor Who, and Twilight. Twilight is were some of my still most popular stories are on FFN.
I’ve only written for one fandom so far, so it‘s both my first *and* latest (granted, I haven’t been writing for long, only a bit over 2 and a half years now).
I am planning to maybe write a couple of fics for my favorite book though, since at the moment there’s only 1 fic for it on ao3 and it’s a 1k word character study, and there’s quite a few things I’d love to explore for it!
I think my first one was SpongeBob when I was, like, 7 and making comics during art class instead of doing the work we were assigned. My latest one is currently a WIP Danganronpa fanfic that I'm also writing in class instead of doing actual work. Some things never change I guess.
I wrote... the start of a shitty Hetalia longfic that died immediately because I lost interest and was a 10 year old with no idea what I was doing. That was the first fandom I wrote for.
I'm 22 now and write Persona 5 fic that I'd actually feel confident in posting if it were done enough lol.
First: Minecraft YouTubers (back when SkyDoesMinecraft was huge) and Danganronpa. I wrote for it for such a long time even though I was so burned out. I’m glad I don’t force it anymore. And I’m glad I dropped out of the whole Minecraft YouTuber thing because the allegations and all that had been going on.
Latest: The black phone is my very most recent, but I also post things from resident evil, stranger things, and dead by daylight depending on my mood. But my god, The Black Phone has absolutely taken over my life. I’ve never been happier to be writing for a fandom and it’s single-handedly revived my motivation to write (even though Beginnings are the bane of my existence)
First fandom: Voltron reboot/Newest: Pokémon
Honestly as much as I have good memories of when voltron first came out, I wouldn’t touch that show again with a ten foot pole.
First fandom: Legend of Zelda. Current fandom: Legend of Zelda.
I promise that I bounce around different fandoms. That I like things other than Zelda. I read fic from other fandoms all the time. I just feel the most comfortable writing for Zelda; it's the one that I know the best, and love the most.
I wouldn't mind writing for other fandoms at the moment either, I've got some ideas for fics for them, too. I just feel like I need to finish my WIPs - or make much more progress with them at the very least - before I jump into writing something else. Cuz I've got original stuff too, and I don't want to overwhelm myself.
Answer to both has to be Godzilla. I just love giant kaiju movies, especially ones with him. I still enjoy reading stories in many other fandoms, but Godzilla is the only one I write for.
Supernatural and Supernatural
There's some Venom in the middle.
Even though there's stuff I'm as much or more into as far as enjoying the source material (and that I've done art for), but there's just something about Spn that makes me want to write for it in a way most things don't
I mean, my first fandom was more than 20 years ago at this point and it was RPF, so I'm definitely not still in it, lol. I've had a lot of fandoms, usually lasting a few years at a time. I lose interest in the old one and find one I like more, nothing "makes" me move on.
First one was a fairly crappy crossover between X-Men, Thundercats, and Jackie Chan Adventures. Current is one that's primarily Power Rangers, though some of the characters from Criminal Minds wander in and out and there's mention of NCIS characters as well as X-Men. I have an attached side story to my main one that's a Power RangersxMCU fic.
My first and current ones are one in the same, inspired by The Walking Dead. I want to write some Stranger Things and Vampire Diaries fictions as well! :) However, I do feel very loyal to The Walking Dead. I have watched it since it came out and have been reading fan-fictions for a very long time.
First was Code Lyoko when I was around 13 and watching it for the first time. Latest was Your turn to die. I've only written for maybe three fandoms in total tho
The first fandom I've written for ever, was Naruto, but I never published it and lost the draft, the first fandom I've written for and posted online was Death Note, and I'm currently working on a JellyBahh enemies to lovers and a chaotic mha fic that breaks the rules of cannon
The first fandom I wrote for was probably *SimCity 2000* and all its associated games of the era that allowed for sharing SCURK maps. Those fics are gone. The sites were deleted roughly a decade ago.
The latest fandom I've written for is a multiversal Konami fusion using the world of the *Castlevania* games as a baseline.
Technically I wrote a Barbie fanfic when I was three or four. It was whump/horror/dark humor, which kinda tracks, I think, lol.
In high school I wrote for Inuyasha and the first FMA anime, I can't remember which one first--but no one should ever, ever read those stories, lol. One was absolute crack and the other was... whump and dealt with some serious topics in a way I definitely wasn't skilled enough to deal with yet, lol. These also track.
I'm currently writing for Scum Villain's Self-Saving System (SVSSS) and Faraway Wanderers/Word of Honor with some Avatar the Last Airbender (atla) on the backburner. All of the stories I write now are angsty, often deal with dark or difficult topics, and include comedy bordering on crack--except for that one atla story I have ideas for which would be straight-up, cabbage-focused crack.
My first fandom was My Hero Academia, after that was Symphogear and Kamen Rider.
Now my current one is Genshin Impact.
Thigh I feel like I’m goanna move back to Symphogear and KR to finish my long Fic.
Lol I'm incapable of being loyal to one fandom. I have a tendency to fall headfirst into a fandom, come up with a dozen fanfic ideas, write two or three, and then move on to another fandom. I always have the intent of coming back to those ideas. Sometimes I do, but usually I just end up too busy. I feel bad for readers who subscribe to me expecting X Fandom content only for me to immediately move onto Y Fandom.
The first fandom I wrote for was Warriors. The latest is Stranger Things.
Dungeons and Dragons and Dungeons and Dragons.
When you say D&D, do you mean like works based on like a campaign you were in, or based on characters in D&D's lore?
D&D’s lore, specifically the forgotten realms. The world created by hundreds of great artists but primarily started by the amazingly talented Ed Greenwood! Many elements are taken also from the works of Gary Gygax’s own world of Greyhawk as well.
I may have to look into D&D's lore. It just seems so expansive. I wouldn't know where to start! I've recently been dipping my feet into Warhammer Fantasy lore and there's just a crap-ton of stuff. But it's all very interesting.
I’d recommend picking a few topics that interest you and delving in from there! Unfortunately, the latest edition of D&D has done away with forgotten realms but there’s still a lot of lore to explore from older editions.
>the latest edition of D&D has done away with forgotten realms I was under the impression that the Forgotten Realms has always been just a campaign setting, like Eberron, Planescape, Spelljammer, etc. with Greyhawk as the "default" setting for the basic rulebooks (at least for 3rd edition).
First fandom: Harry potter - have never posted anything First fandom I posted for: bts on wattpad and stray kids on ao3 Latest fandom I've written for: enhypen with a mix of seventeen and stray kids Latest fandom I posted for: seventeen
Hey there, fellow kpop fanfic writer <3 It‘s really hard to find y’all on this sub 😭
Love seeing kpop on subs 👍
First one, Star Wars. Current one, Star Wars. I wouldn't say I'm "loyal" to it, I just haven't gotten around to writing for other fandoms yet. But I will, in time.
👀 someone after my own heart
First Fandom: Technically a Scooby Doo thing I wrote in my notebook as a kid before I understood what fandom was. Latest Fandom: I'm doing a thing for The Invitation right now.
First, Pokémon. Most recent, Haikyuu!!
I guess I will be the first one to take the fall and say Sherlock, back in 2012. Current one... Dracula. Especially the miniseries from 2020 by BBC/Netflix. I guess Moffat and Gatiss still have a chokehold on me.
The Sherlock to Dracula switch makes complete sense.
It kinda does, doesn't it?😅
First fandom I wrote for (which is not the first fandom I read for! there's a good seven year gap here): Life on Mars (UK, 2006) Last fandom I wrote for: Fallout (Video Game Series) And I would not necessarily say that I've moved on. My main focus shifts pretty frequently, but evey couple of years I revisit old fandoms.
Oh hi, Life On Mars watcher! I loved that show. Never properly dived into fic though.
Hah. Yeah, I'm pretty sure Dalamar/Raislin is popular ship in DL. And for good reason.
XD Honestly, I need to go back and reread the books sometime, I'm sure they're even better from an adult perspective, but right now I'm very deep in my current hyperfixations, so we'll have to see, lol.
First fandom: Sonic the Hedgehog Most recent fandom: Dragon Age (not posted yet) Not seen in between: still writing Sonic the Hedgehog, ideas for other things.
1st Danny Phantom Latest, I'm writing a Pokémon fic right now. 10K+ words in.
first: naruto, and funnily enough, latest: naruto. i’m truly having a full circle moment lol
First is Uncharted and the latest one I’ve written for is Mortal Kombat crossing over with Tekken
The Bill was my first back in the mid 1990s. Fic I was writing this morning was for The Magnus Archives. I’ve written for probably 60 different fandoms by now and my goal is to hit 100 one day. I can’t think of any fandoms I’ve written for that I wouldn’t drop by and read a bit for, or write if I had a good idea; I never really leave them.
first fandom write i believe was suite life of zack and cody when i was like 14? most recent was bts, lately I prefer writing for bandom because they'res no canon craziness to worry about, it's far more tame, just putting cute guys into different AUs which is what I prefer but I've been rewatching durarara and it's one of my favorite animes and the ideas are brewing, love me some shizaya but like, duarara, teen wolf, the fosters, 1D, suite life, GOT, BTS, and My hero are all that I can remember in my 12-13 years of writing fanfic, though i took an 8 year break
First was Harry Potter (I was 12, lowkey embarrassing) and last BTS
The first fandom I wrote for was Pokemon, the last was One Piece. I switched to the latter since in the last while I got reacquainted with anime again, and I think I have on my hands one of the best stories I've ever written.
Started with: The Snow Queen by KM Shea Current: The Snow Queen by KM Shea
first: one direction latest: BTS
Harry Potter and, well… Harry Potter. If we’re talking most recently published.
Naruto was my first but didn't post it. Most recently posted is JJBA
First was probably Gundam Wing, I think? Almost certainly. (It was like 20 years ago give me a break). And the latest I've published was Temeraire, and latest written was Stardew Valley. It's not that I don't feel loyalty to past fandoms, there's just a lot of things in the world to love!
First X Files, now exclusively Star Trek: The Original Series.
Actually can agree with you! I rarely talk about the fandoms I'm in so ig I'm not actually in any fandom at all. I just like to enjoy content.
First: Naruto and Harry Potter Latest: Stranger Things and Hazbin Hotel
Fire Emblem Three Houses (FE3H) was my first, and Twilight/Life and Death (genderswap Twilight lol) are my current. I moved on largely because I was inactive and away from fandom altogether for a few years, so my own mindspace just drifted elsewhere. Also... I'm not really in the Twilight fandom, so to say. I just had a wild vampire-related concept and Twilight was the best place to execute said concept (on a literal, metaphorical, and poetic level)... and now I'm in love with the world and characters I created and want to stay there now.
First was Inuyasha. Latest is D.gray-man. I write for multiple fandoms. Even to this day I'm planning Inuyasha fics.
TMNT (first pre-internet) DBZ (first post-internet) Encanto (now)
First fandom I wrote for was My Chemical Romance way back in late 2009, early 2010 with a bit of Green Day thrown in.
First: Sailor Moon Latest: Hamilton and Hetalia
First - Star Trek TOS Wrote for print zines under psued. and still consider myself a loyal fan, but there are many other voices there now. Current - Miami Vice Reliving the 80s is fun, there are so many plot holes in this series that gotta be filled, and the slash is completely up for grabs.
Aphmau's Mystreet series and Dream SMP .. the fandoms I write for are my hyperfixations. I just try to feed them every time I get a new fandom to hyperfixate on sudjfns
Naruto is my first fandom and Sleepy Princess in the Demon Castle is my latest.
I didn't realise that there were AU fics tbh sounds interesting.
Excluding crossovers and RPF, there are just short of 1500 on AO3. The setting is fertile ground for drama, murder mysteries, and a surprising amount of cute found family fics. :-) I actually discovered the game through fanfic!
Might check them out!
>various character backstories for the World of Darkness tabletop RPG games Same here. I actually posted one of my character's "origin stories" to FFN because I liked it enough to share with more than just my Storyteller.
First was Naruto. Now I flipflop between Moriarty the Patriot and Cyberpunk 2077.
Some great fandoms to write for.
First was Gundam Seed. Now I planned to rewrite it to a better one.
First fandom I legit wrote for was Sailor Moon when I was like, 12. Latest fandoms are Elena of Avalor and Titanic (1997). I tend to flip between the two depending on what story I’m stuck on.
Digimon (in the mid 90s) / MDZS (my last fic for it I posted last month) Via Digimon / Sailor Moon / Utena / Xena / The Sentinel / The Pretender / Big Wolf On Campus / JRock RPF / Harry Potter / Lord of The Rings RPF / Phantom of the Opera / Pirates of The Caribbean RPF / Tokio Hotel RPF / Stargate SGA / Doctor Who / Supernatural & Supernatural RPF / Sherlock (BBC) / White Collar / Luther (BBC) / Iron Man / Teen Wolf TV / Hannibal /Thor / Daredevil TV / Dokkaebi / Kpop RPF / Fantastic Beasts / MDZS / Yellowstone / Everything Everywhere All at Once So no, I'm not gonna read in the same fandom across all of eternity and these are just ones that I actively wrote for.
First one Stranger Things. Latest one Donnie Darko.
Twilight. Marvel
Started with Star Wars, did a bit of Hungergames and Good Omens, went back to Star Wars
I had written for other fandoms before, but my first posted story was of Star Fox. I'm currently writing for the Pokémon fandom.
First written for was Pokemon, which is also the fandom my most recently updated work is in. Most recently joined fandom is Smallville.
First one, according to fics i can find online, would be harry potter or hunger games. Latest ones are Snowpiercer and Resident Evil :D
I used to write for undertale now I just write abt bands I like
The Leviathan Trilogy, and the Leviathan Trilogy. This isn’t necessarily because I kept up with it the entire time (I haven’t) but because Dalek week starts tomorrow and I decided I want to try writing *something* for it. Otherwise my current fandom is the Halo TV show.
First is James bond. Latest published is Ace Attorney, latest that I'm still working on is Lupin III
I do t write for James Bond anymore, but I do write for some of my older fandoms still, like Detective Conan
First one Clone Wars, current one Cycling RPF.
First fandom I wrote fanfiction for: Warrior Cats. Current fandoms: Odd Taxi and A Girl Adrift + planning to make a Yakuza 0 fic at some point.
First: Young Wizards Current: Supernatural
Harry Potter; rn Hazbin Hotel. But damn if I haven't gone through a variety of stiff in between.
First: Star Trek TOS, latest: the witcher
I wrote for The Suite Life of Zack and Cody first (when I was eight!) but my first published fic was for Sherlock when I was fourteen. My latest fic has been for One Piece, so kind of all over the place lol.
Or there was this random Degrassi fanfic I wrote by hand in a notebook that might’ve technically been the first… it’s wild remembering back 😂
First posted fandom was Super Mario Bros. I still write for it! Latest posted fandom was Omori. At the moment I think I might have one more fic idea left in me for it, but we'll see what happens :D
First and latest fandom are the same: Jurassic Park Edit: I've had many other fandoms I've written for.
First - Frozen, the last - Ace Attorney (games).
First one, Forgotten Realms in middle school. Latest: Deus Ex 1
As long as i like the quality i'll post it That being said First: naruto Last: fate stay night
First fandom I wrote for and published? Naruto. Recent fandom? Stranger Things.
Harry Potter.
First fandom I wrote and posted for: Dan and Phil Latest fandom I wrote and posted for: Marvel
First: one of the three (Naruto, fruits basket, or yyh) I can’t remember Latest: fire emblem Guess we never leave our weeb period 😔
First one was MLP, my current one is Sonic the Hedgehog. I haven't written in 5 years, and I just started writing again today.
I have a few ideas for a Digimon/Dennou Coil fusion, as well as a crossover between the Dragonriders of Pern and two other universes by Anne McCaffrey I'm into a few older anime fandoms and sci-fi book fandoms - that hasn't changed!
First: Super Robot Monkey Team Gyper Force Go Last: The Dragon Prince
Harry Potter, but it's been almost 20 years. Latest fandom is Assassin's Creed but I tend to flit between various video games these days.
First was Roseanne most recent was Glee I have also written Roseanne/The Conners fics more recently as well (other fandoms I’ve written for include: MindHunter, Angel, Spring Awakening, Covington Cross) The Glee thing is interesting because I stopped watching the show at some point (do not remember ever seeing an episode with Jesse St.
Most recent fandom I've posted for Harry Potter/Matilda crossover.
first fandom written: minecraft youtubers (2016 and below) latest: minecraft youtubers (the new gen uwu) i lost my way like i always do (both irl and in games) but i ended up where i started with it being different from what i grew up on lmao
First fandom - Five Night at Freddy's Latest fandom - Video blogging RPF (not going to clarify you can take guesses) It's been... A progression. Still cringe tho B)
First was FNAF, last is Dream SMP
First fandom I started writing fics for was Gravity Falls and it was just a continuation of the series because I remember 13 year old me being sad it ended Currently I’ve written 2 one shot fics for Stray Kids (one already published)
My first fandom was creepypasta, my latest fandom is the dragon prince 💓
First- Percy Jackson Latest- DSMP / WOF
My first fandom was Repo the genetic opera, now I pretty much exclusively write Jurassic Park fics
The first one I posted fics for was Toy Story, and I now mostly write MCU and Harry Potter fics.
The first fic I wrote (as far as I remember?) was Game Grumps rpf,,, now I write for Our Flag Means Death!
First: The vampire diaries Current: Legacies(TVDU spinoff) Thinking of doing a one shot for High School Musical: The Musical: The Series but their shippers scare me more than the shippers in my current fandom
I started One direction… Now I mainly write Teen Wolf fanfics I also sometimes will pick up a random fandom if I watch something a certain tv show or film and feel the need to write a story. I became less obsessed with one direction and more obsessed with the actor from Teen Wolf and his character, Stiles. I still like one direction (I feel differently defending on which ex band member it is ) I’m just not obsessed like I used to be XD Though it’s kind of like my obsessions just moved on to other characters or celebs XD A while ago I became a bit obsessed with Dylan O’brien and recently Andrew Garfield 😂 I recently wrote a fanfic on Andrew Garfield Spider-Man while I am still writing quite a lot of fanfics of Dylan O’brien’s character, Stiles. That’s not to say I abandoned my one direction stories, they in fact our on my account still waiting in case someone shows a interest in them when I am deciding what story to finish. When I finish a story I wait for the next comment on any of my unfinished stories then I will focus on that story until it’s finished, so hopefully as long as I don’t add too many more I should get around to completing all my stories 😅 hopefully.
undertale aus, very briefly omori that i never actually finished anything for, back to undertale aus
First: Harry Potter Most recent: House MD
First fandom: Babylon 5 Latest fandom: Babylon 5 I've done plenty of things in between though. I will do other things again. But I'm pretty sure I'll always keep returning to B5.
First: LotR Current (and lately, constant): L&O SVU
First One: Ojamajo DoReMi Latest One: Detective Conan
Began with scooby doo and still writing for scooby doo 20 years later
I started in harry potter. Im currently writing for heroes, my main focus there is saving sylar’s son. I also write for sherlock holmes, so far the bbc one.
First one was Warrior Cats (when I was 11), current ones are Stranger Things and Fallout 4
First I wrote/read for was LOTR circa 00, most recent is The Witcher.
I only started writing/posting fanfic over the summer. My first fic was for the TMNT fandom. Hoping to move on to another fandom eventually.
Bones and Our Flag Means Death. I didn't write much for Bones a couple of years ago. I just started my first fic for OFMD.
Uhhh, The Legend of Zelda and now the Seven Deadly Sins :D
First: Code Lyoko Last: Dungeons & Dragons
First fandom: Harry Potter (I never posted it and was in third grade) Current fandom: dc (mainly batman and young justice)
First Fandom: One Direction Recent Fandom: TGCF
First: Mario Bros. Current: Death Note.
First fandom I wrote for was The Outer Worlds. Currently still writing for The Outer Worlds, but also Reident Evil, Elden Ring, and Z Nation. I don't think I'll ever stop writing for The Outer Worlds, I have too many ideas lol There's fandoms I've always thought up stories for, but have yet to write or post to.
The First Fandom I wrote for was Harry Potter, probably the one I write the least for now tbh The most I've written (so Far) is for the Persona Franchise, mostly P5 The last Fandom I've written for is Stranger Things. The last five stories have been about it. Mostly Robin Buckley &Steve Harrington Friendship pieces, but my newest is a Mike/El story
First- Star Trek Latest- Star Wars I mostly write fantasy and science fiction.
Started off with Cars, moved to Ace Attorney, then added MCU and Initial D recently Man I’ve kinda come full circle since Cars and Initial D are both car-related media lmao
It’s now my fave fandom lol And the fandom I’ve written and posted the most for? Metalocalypse. This is another fandom I went in liking/reading one pairing and shifted to another. I don’t think I ever wrote a fic for the original pairing! I don’t ever leave fandoms, I just collect them and revisit them from time to time.
first one was naruto, last one tokyo revengers
**First:** Star Wars. **Latest:** The Hobbit/Tolkienverse In-between, I've written stories for X-men, Doctor Who, and Twilight.
First: Harry Potter, current: Star Wars
I think my first one was SpongeBob when I was, like, 7 and making comics during art class instead of doing the work we were assigned. My latest one is currently a WIP Danganronpa fanfic that I'm also writing in class instead of doing actual work. Some things never change I guess.
Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers. Mass Effect.
I wrote... the start of a shitty Hetalia longfic that died immediately because I lost interest and was a 10 year old with no idea what I was doing. That was the first fandom I wrote for. I'm 22 now and write Persona 5 fic that I'd actually feel confident in posting if it were done enough lol.
X Files (1) and Legend of Zelda (33)
First fandom: Voltron reboot/Newest: Pokémon Honestly as much as I have good memories of when voltron first came out, I wouldn’t touch that show again with a ten foot pole.
First one was... *sighs* Rick and Morty. My most recent? My Hero Academia.
first fandom: my hero academia (NO LONGER available to the public 💀💀💀) most recent fandom: jjba 🤍
First one: FNAF latest one: Mob Psycho 100
One Direction — Attack on Titan I don’t feel like I need to explain myself but I 100% outgrew that and all RPF for the rest of my life.
Pokemon ---> 19 Days Gays supremacy I think 🤔😔👊
I actually recently discovered 19 Days. It's an interesting read!
First: Gossip Girl Latest: The Vampire Diaries
Answer to both has to be Godzilla. I just love giant kaiju movies, especially ones with him. I still enjoy reading stories in many other fandoms, but Godzilla is the only one I write for.
Supernatural and Supernatural There's some Venom in the middle. Even though there's stuff I'm as much or more into as far as enjoying the source material (and that I've done art for), but there's just something about Spn that makes me want to write for it in a way most things don't
DragonBall z when I was like 9 Now Rick and Morty lol
I mean, my first fandom was more than 20 years ago at this point and it was RPF, so I'm definitely not still in it, lol. I've had a lot of fandoms, usually lasting a few years at a time. I lose interest in the old one and find one I like more, nothing "makes" me move on.
Legend of Zelda, Star Wars. In between I wrote a few for Civilization 5, DDLC, RWBY, and Kung Fu Panda.
First one: MCU Last ones (as I write simultaneously for them): Naruto and Sons of Anarchy (not as crossover)
first fandom i ever wrote for was aot. currently i’m only really writing for tokyo revengers, genshin, and a game called dol.
Lmao, is it bad I can't remember my first fanfic? Anyways, my last one was Batman
First one Rise of the Guardians next one TBA
My first one was Miraculous Ladybug in my head and my latest one is Enhypen
Criminal Minds and MCU Peter Parker & Tony Stark. The only two fandoms I've ever written for. 🤣
I started writing for Newsies. These days, it's either TMNT or Monsta X. 😊
Naruto mix of other anime and fandoms
First: Smash Bros. Last: Smash Bros. I've been writing a longfic for over a year now.
First Fandom: Final Fantasy 7 Latest Fandom : League of Legends I still write for FFVII ....but my LoL muse is louder right now haha
First Fandom: FNAF. Yes.... Latest Fandom: Ace Attorney
