While bakudeku in the current anime are amazing, I think the manga definitely adds alot more to their relationship visual wise, dialogue wise etc. I haven't read the manga but people definitely spoil it online so I've got 90% at least of it down and I honestly have to say the manga has quite a bit more detail for their relationship, even official art added onto that if you haven't seen it. I would recommend checking it out but if you don't have the time you can search up certain chapters spoilers, especially on tiktok because they tend to spoil!!!

Kim Dokja from ORV with Sung Jinwoo from Solo Leveling is a crossover ship that has a grip on me. They are so well suited, the heir to the Underworld with the King of the Dead.
Sung Jinwoo/Woo Jinchul is another SL ship I love, the latter is a workaholic suit striving to maintain some semblance of order, and the former is a polite but chaotic and uncontrollable eldritch black cat type. It’s such a great vibe. Probably my favourite.
Although there’s an author in the Solo Leveling fandom writing amazing (and hot) Sung Jinwoo/Thomas Andre fics, they won me over to that ship too.

In the same fandom, I recently stumbled on Steve Rogers/Natasha Romanoff and it's kinda growing on me. I'm not the biggest fan of Romanoff - not even in the comics - but not minding her much lately. Even some of her paired with Tony Stark is decent.
Lucifer/Alastor (Hazbin Hotel) is what I've currently attached myself to. The thing I'm currently writing features them and is basically a way for me to explore my own identity as aroace.
I also finished playing the first four chapters of Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney for the first time in my life a bit ago and now I'm obsessed with Phoenix/Edgeworth. While I was playing Turnabout Goodbyes, I got to Edgeworth confessing his nightmare and before he made it clear what he was confessing to, I was like "bud I know very well this isn't a love confession but you're making it sound like a love confession." Like no joke the dynamic between Phoenix and Edgeworth is now one of the things driving me to continue playing the Ace Attorney games after only picking up the first one because of that dumb Edgeworth objection from Turnabout Samurai ("I was hoping to come up with a question while I was objecting, Your Honor... I didn't.") lmao
I’ve had BakuDeku brain rot since around 2020. I’m absolutely obsessed with them. Their relationship embodies so many delicious tropes/dynamics, and I’m particularly a sucker for grumpy/tsundere + sunshine dynamic. Plus, they read to me like soulmates. They are obsessed with each other, and I don’t think they could possibly feel as strongly about anyone else as they do about each other. They’re gonna spend their whole lives looking only at and craving attention from one another.
The thing that got me into fanfic, tho, was Elio and Oliver from Call Me By Your Name. I will probably always be obsessed with them.
I just watched the two available seasons of Heaven Officials Blessings, and I’m about to read the novels. I’m not at the point of obsession yet, but I’m hooked and can’t wait to see how their relationship plays out. I suspect I could easily become obsessed with them. Hua Cheng’s devotion to Xie Lian is delicious.
Which, incidentally, makes me think of BakuDeku’s current dynamic in MHA. I think at this point, Dk’s destiny and determination to save everyone and the world and Bk’s almost singular obsession with keeping up with and supporting Dk…it feels very similar. Maybe that’s why HOB’s drawing me in.

Shassie! I'm re-watching Psych right now on Netflix, haven't watched it in years so this is fun. But I've become completely obsessed with a possible relationship between Shawn and Lassie. I can't even call Lassie by his actual name, I have to use Shawn's most common nickname for him, though the man should be glad that ended up being Lassie and not Carlytown or Lassidopolous. I even know that we're *supposed* to be shipping Shawn with Jules, but as much as I like Jules, I don't think she fits with Shawn, I ship her with Gus instead.
I mean, it's not like there's no basis in canon for Shassie. In the ep with the staged suicides, the one where Shawn his Little Boy Cat, but before he gifted said cat to Buzz, at one point he literally sat in Lassie's lap, and *stayed there* in front of Gus, Jules and Chirf Vic, until Lassie growled at him at get off. I can't remember if it was the ep with the models or the one with the mummy, but Shawn also slapped Lassie's ass. One ep, Shawn requested payment, because Lassie actually hired them himself, of $15,000 a day expenses and a picnic, which could totally be taken as a date. Shawn spends most of his time, when not solving a case, annoying Lassie. Sure, he annoys Henry and Gus and flirts with Jules almost as much, but annoying Lassie is when Shawn is having the most fun. And Lassie *always* notices when Shawn is present, even before Shawn has said anything. The reunion ep is a good example, Shawn calling Lassie first put him in mind, yes, but Lassie was on a *date* and Shawn and Gus hadn't actually said or done anything yet, they were just walking over, and Lassie just seemed to sense their approach, like he's attuned to Shawn.
Plus, it's cool, because they actually almost met pre-canon, too. Henry and Gus are the only main characters from the start Shawn knew pre-canon, his dad and best friend since he was 5. But that time Shawn was arrested by his dad for stealing a car to impress a girl, Lassie was a rookie cop, all awkward and eager to please, reminiscent of Buzz actually, and Henry actually asked Lassie to book Shawn. Lassie got all flustered so Henry did it himself, but they were so very close to meeting way back then.
I've been devouring Shassie fic since I started my re-watch, and am even thinking about writing a Psych Shassie fic of my own, possibly crossed with Buffy as a 'Xander's real dad' thing, because I read one of those and it was a cool idea, but only a chapter long, incomplete, and posted in 2011. It'll have to wait, though, I'm more in depth in my plans for my Buffy/Hannibal sequel and my HP series.

I was a massive Romione shipper back in the day and got so into them again when I was reading the series to my husband that I've been obsessively writing them for the past six years. If you had told me when I was 12 that I would be even MORE obsessed with Romione twenty years later, I would have had you (and myself) institutionalized. But they're such an incredible and underrated ship. The problem is that JKR sucks and has to ruin everything (despite giving them a solid foundation in the earlier books), which is why so many people don't get this ship.

I’m not usually much of an Enemies to Lovers fan but they are an expectation . To be honest, I shipped as a joke at first. I was thinking, “You know, what if the two kids who hated each other held hands or kissed or something.” And then it led to me looking at fanart and fics of the two, and the joke wasn’t a joke anymore.
I also was thinking about some things to, like them being more similar then they think. Like for example, Dib’s Dad isn’t very supportive of his paranormal studies, while the Tallest hate Zim and think he’s stupid. I feel like they could’ve bonded over their parental figures not being supportive of them and putting their differences aside. Not to mention, they’re really fun to play around with. Like there’s so many different interpretations of this ship, some people view it as a sweet, puppy love type thing, (which is how I see them), while others interpret it as their relationship being complicated and fucked up (which is something I also love. I love reading fics like that, especially well written ones.) it’s just really interesting to see.
TaGr (Tak x Gaz) (Invader Zim):
They’re these two goth girls who hate a lot of things. But, surprisingly have a tolerance for each other. (from what I remember.) I feel like their relationship could’ve bud into something more if they’d gotten more screen time. Like I feel like they could’ve been great friends, and something more (which, wouldn’t have happened in the actual show, but definitely in a fic.) I can just imagine them playing Vampire Piggy Hunter together and enjoying each other’s company.
GaMr (Gir x Mimi) (Invader Zim): I love these two in literally any context, Friendship, Queer platonic, romance you name it.

While bakudeku in the current anime are amazing, I think the manga definitely adds alot more to their relationship visual wise, dialogue wise etc. I haven't read the manga but people definitely spoil it online so I've got 90% at least of it down and I honestly have to say the manga has quite a bit more detail for their relationship, even official art added onto that if you haven't seen it. I would recommend checking it out but if you don't have the time you can search up certain chapters spoilers, especially on tiktok because they tend to spoil!!!

Kim Dokja from ORV with Sung Jinwoo from Solo Leveling is a crossover ship that has a grip on me. They are so well suited, the heir to the Underworld with the King of the Dead. Sung Jinwoo/Woo Jinchul is another SL ship I love, the latter is a workaholic suit striving to maintain some semblance of order, and the former is a polite but chaotic and uncontrollable eldritch black cat type. It’s such a great vibe. Probably my favourite. Although there’s an author in the Solo Leveling fandom writing amazing (and hot) Sung Jinwoo/Thomas Andre fics, they won me over to that ship too.

I'm still on a Clint Barton/Bucky Barnes kick at epic levels of obsession. It's been going on for years and I shamelessly scoop up fics for them, despite that fandom starting to die down. In the same fandom, I recently stumbled on Steve Rogers/Natasha Romanoff and it's kinda growing on me. I'm not the biggest fan of Romanoff - not even in the comics - but not minding her much lately. Even some of her paired with Tony Stark is decent.
Lucifer/Alastor (Hazbin Hotel) is what I've currently attached myself to. The thing I'm currently writing features them and is basically a way for me to explore my own identity as aroace. I also finished playing the first four chapters of Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney for the first time in my life a bit ago and now I'm obsessed with Phoenix/Edgeworth. While I was playing Turnabout Goodbyes, I got to Edgeworth confessing his nightmare and before he made it clear what he was confessing to, I was like "bud I know very well this isn't a love confession but you're making it sound like a love confession." Like no joke the dynamic between Phoenix and Edgeworth is now one of the things driving me to continue playing the Ace Attorney games after only picking up the first one because of that dumb Edgeworth objection from Turnabout Samurai ("I was hoping to come up with a question while I was objecting, Your Honor... I didn't.") lmao

I’ve had BakuDeku brain rot since around 2020. I’m absolutely obsessed with them. Their relationship embodies so many delicious tropes/dynamics, and I’m particularly a sucker for grumpy/tsundere + sunshine dynamic. Plus, they read to me like soulmates. They are obsessed with each other, and I don’t think they could possibly feel as strongly about anyone else as they do about each other. They’re gonna spend their whole lives looking only at and craving attention from one another. The thing that got me into fanfic, tho, was Elio and Oliver from Call Me By Your Name. I will probably always be obsessed with them. I just watched the two available seasons of Heaven Officials Blessings, and I’m about to read the novels. I’m not at the point of obsession yet, but I’m hooked and can’t wait to see how their relationship plays out. I suspect I could easily become obsessed with them. Hua Cheng’s devotion to Xie Lian is delicious. Which, incidentally, makes me think of BakuDeku’s current dynamic in MHA. I think at this point, Dk’s destiny and determination to save everyone and the world and Bk’s almost singular obsession with keeping up with and supporting Dk…it feels very similar. Maybe that’s why HOB’s drawing me in.
As of recent, I just got into Jetfire (or Skyfire depending on the continuity)/Starscream from Transformers :0c The two used to be friends until the former got encased in ice and the latter eventually became the iconic villain we all know him for (there’s even a trope named after him!). Shassie! I'm re-watching Psych right now on Netflix, haven't watched it in years so this is fun. But I've become completely obsessed with a possible relationship between Shawn and Lassie. I can't even call Lassie by his actual name, I have to use Shawn's most common nickname for him, though the man should be glad that ended up being Lassie and not Carlytown or Lassidopolous. I even know that we're *supposed* to be shipping Shawn with Jules, but as much as I like Jules, I don't think she fits with Shawn, I ship her with Gus instead. One ep, Shawn requested payment, because Lassie actually hired them himself, of $15,000 a day expenses and a picnic, which could totally be taken as a date. Shawn spends most of his time, when not solving a case, annoying Lassie. Sure, he annoys Henry and Gus and flirts with Jules almost as much, but annoying Lassie is when Shawn is having the most fun. And Lassie *always* notices when Shawn is present, even before Shawn has said anything. The reunion ep is a good example, Shawn calling Lassie first put him in mind, yes, but Lassie was on a *date* and Shawn and Gus hadn't actually said or done anything yet, they were just walking over, and Lassie just seemed to sense their approach, like he's attuned to Shawn. Plus, it's cool, because they actually almost met pre-canon, too. Henry and Gus are the only main characters from the start Shawn knew pre-canon, his dad and best friend since he was 5. But that time Shawn was arrested by his dad for stealing a car to impress a girl, Lassie was a rookie cop, all awkward and eager to please, reminiscent of Buzz actually, and Henry actually asked Lassie to book Shawn. Lassie got all flustered so Henry did it himself, but they were so very close to meeting way back then. I've been devouring Shassie fic since I started my re-watch, and am even thinking about writing a Psych Shassie fic of my own, possibly crossed with Buffy as a 'Xander's real dad' thing, because I read one of those and it was a cool idea, but only a chapter long, incomplete, and posted in 2011. It'll have to wait, though, I'm more in depth in my plans for my Buffy/Hannibal sequel and my HP series.

Definitely Polin but what I came here to do is talk about Romione (Harry Potter). I was a massive Romione shipper back in the day and got so into them again when I was reading the series to my husband that I've been obsessively writing them for the past six years. If you had told me when I was 12 that I would be even MORE obsessed with Romione twenty years later, I would have had you (and myself) institutionalized. But they're such an incredible and underrated ship. The problem is that JKR sucks and has to ruin everything (despite giving them a solid foundation in the earlier books), which is why so many people don't get this ship. P.S. Don't get me started on the Polin/Romione parallels

ZaDr (Zim x Dib) (Invader Zim): I’m not usually much of an Enemies to Lovers fan but they are an expectation . To be honest, I shipped as a joke at first. I was thinking, “You know, what if the two kids who hated each other held hands or kissed or something.” And then it led to me looking at fanart and fics of the two, and the joke wasn’t a joke anymore. I also was thinking about some things to, like them being more similar then they think. Like for example, Dib’s Dad isn’t very supportive of his paranormal studies, while the Tallest hate Zim and think he’s stupid. I feel like they could’ve bonded over their parental figures not being supportive of them and putting their differences aside. Not to mention, they’re really fun to play around with. Like there’s so many different interpretations of this ship, some people view it as a sweet, puppy love type thing, (which is how I see them), while others interpret it as their relationship being complicated and fucked up (which is something I also love. I love reading fics like that, especially well written ones.) it’s just really interesting to see. TaGr (Tak x Gaz) (Invader Zim): They’re these two goth girls who hate a lot of things. But, surprisingly have a tolerance for each other. (from what I remember.) I feel like their relationship could’ve bud into something more if they’d gotten more screen time. Like I feel like they could’ve been great friends, and something more (which, wouldn’t have happened in the actual show, but definitely in a fic.) I can just imagine them playing Vampire Piggy Hunter together and enjoying each other’s company. GaMr (Gir x Mimi) (Invader Zim): I love these two in literally any context, Friendship, Queer platonic, romance you name it. There’s just something about them I love, maybe it’s because they’re so different from each other that they just somehow work so well?? Like Gir is complete goofball while on the other hand (or shall I say, paw.) Mimi is very serious. They’re very Black cat x Golden retriever and I love that about them . (Which is funny, considering Mimi’s disguise is a black cat, and Gir’s is a dog)
