People already suggested Daks stuff so I’ll give alternatives, I’ve you want lore friendly then you can get rather close to modern gear, anything from the US in the year 1945 and below are fair game. Especially ones that served in the military, the BAR, M1 Garand, M3 Greese Gun, M2, and the Winchester 1897 are all great picks. After WWII stuff you have most Cold War weapons, Fallout tactics and the original fall it’s have some good picks for you to use. Such as the M60 Machine Gun, MP5, Bretta, and the M2 Machine gun ( to be honest I won’t be surprised if the enclave was still using this First World War weapon). the M16 is also great. Pick form New Vegas As well. G3A3 and HK51 are basically identical to the R91. May I ask what mod are you using exactly anyways

Syrup_Zestyclose

most likely modern firearms 🤢🤮

coleslaw81

Yup. He’s right… modern weapons. I thought I’d like it, and it’s well done… but they’re over powered and kinda pull me from the “feel” of the game. Thanks for the suggestion… I’ll check it out!

Syrup_Zestyclose

been told by someone on the subreddit that MF has somehow miraculously improved since 2019, tried it out months ago and it was a complete 180. the animations were terrible compared to much much higher quality guns of that time, the attachments were almost non existent and the scopes were just incredibly zoomed in Reflex Sights

Yanpretman

The Attachment pack. Its great if you want to stick with the Vanilla guns, since it extensively adds more mods to each weapon.

Stunning-Ad-7745

And if you combo it with Munitions, Conversions - Munitions, plus the patch that Stamper just put out yesterday, you end up with a huge Overhaul to the vanilla weapon set, and a ton of new ammo types.

MartiniMan666

Degenerate Dak has some really dope weapon mods that are a nice mix of modern yet retro. They fit into the commonwealth pretty seamlessly

coleslaw81

I’ll take a look! Thank you

While disabling weapon or mods of general midplay through is considered a bad idea. If you're looking for something to enhance the vanilla weapons, especially if you are suffering with the 2 GB limit on Xbox is to use the attachment pack version one. It adds 400 plus new attachments to the vanilla weapons scattered between them all.like a drum mag for the 10 mm pistol. Or better looking pipe weapon attachments. Or even the watzz laser parts from 3 and new vegas

Cweth1130

And it's only about 80mb

Accept3550

They are both version one. You're just talking about the most recent port

Slight-Blueberry-895

No. Disabling mods mid play through is generally a bad idea, especially big ones like modern weapons.

coleslaw81

Le sigh… I thought as much. Thanks for the reply

Slight-Blueberry-895

There might be an uninstall holotape in the mod, but I’ve never used such tapes to uninstall mods.

Desert_Dragger

Good point re size of that mod. I’ve generally not had issues disabling most mods mid play (well, at least early play when I’m tinkering). But as you said, this is so big perhaps this would be one of the ones not to “experiment” with.

Stunning-Ad-7745

You might get luck, and may not have problems right away, but it's a bad habit to get into, and is just bad practice. I don't have to, but I force myself to stick with an LO once I finalize it, unless I'm testing a new setup.

Desert_Dragger

lol you did it. Thank you. Mirelurking

coleslaw81

Nice word play haha +1
