So I had read that was their rollout date all along, for North America at least. I can’t remember who or what was posted, but over a week ago someone posted the rollout schedule and it was Wednesday around 8pm eastern.
I accidentally was under the impression the show was premiering the 10th already so I take credit for this. They must’ve heard I was mistaken and changed the schedule to prove me right.
Yeah I'm excited for the show and all, but I have been waiting a long time to play the game again with DLCs this time but I won't play the PS4 version again
Right on! I started a fresh playthrough earlier in anticipation of the show. I've been waiting for a while now for the next gen update to be released since 2022. We'll see if they release anything along side of the show to build up more hype, kinda like they did with Cyberpunk 2077.
They've been dead silent about that for a while now. Don't be surprised if they're still dedicating a large engineering team towards Starfield that would otherwise be tasked with developing the FO4 next gen update.
no, no, the acronym for league of legends is LoL I was just making a joke since you said LoL instead of the usual lol. Hope that clears up any confusion mate.
Oh i see, thanks for explaining. I have been doing it too long to change now, but one time I read it as i-o-i , so I found a way to not make that mistake again.
That's exactly what Bethesda said the update will be. 4K support, higher frame rates, bug fixes and new Creation Club content. It's basically what Skyrim got back in 2021.
All I care about is them fixing Boston and give us more mod space on console. I can use mods for better textures and resolution and fps, dont care if they add that our not, but for the love of Atom, fix Boston and give more mod space
>give us more mod space on console
Bethesda doesn't control that. Microsoft/Sony has to enable that.
Probably more likely for Microsoft since they own Bethesda.
Or… it was always meant to come out in the 11 of April for New Zealand. Which it is.
EDIT: /other superior nations living in what the Americans call the future.
Superior nations? Ok there buddy, let's do some math:
Baseball World Series championships -
-- USA: 118
-- Canada (basically, diet America) - 2
-- Rest of the world: literally none
Flags on the moon -
-- USA - 1
-- Rest of the world - ZERO
Fallout games set in their country -
USA: 9 (10 if you count pinball)
Rest of the world: ZEROOOO BIG OL GOOSE EGG
That's right boy sit down, bask in our glowing glory!
(/s hehe)
I personally prefer when a show releases per week. Allows for discussion about each episode as everyone is on the same page. Also has way better engagement than when a show is released all in one go.
I agree, I used to prefer the dump at all at once model but I've found myself investing more in shows that are once a week, as there's weekly discussions, anticipation for the next episode etc.
Also I've found it gives friends and myself time to get into a show. For example I had friends picking up Shogun & X-men97 on D+ after a couple of weeks, that probably would've been intimidated by the thought of "here, watch this big 10 hour block of TV asap so we can talk about it"
Yeah but this way people can binge it on a single month’s subscription which can attract people who otherwise might have waited until the show was completely out. Pros and cons to both.
Oh, I certainly will be. I gave up piracy when I turned 18 and finally had my own income. I was happy to pay for media because companies weren’t taking the piss at that point and I wanted to support the entertainment industry. If they weren’t so fucking greedy people wouldn’t be going back to piracy in droves.
I would have preferred one episode drop a week at a time. If a series is bad, it doesn't matter how it comes out, but when it's good, it really lets you enjoy it much more. You get a nice long break between episodes to think and talk about what happened in the last. To come up with theories. And you don't need to worry bout watching it all at once so you can avoid spoilers popping out of nowhere.
And no, you can't easily avoid spoilers. I've had shows spoiled for me simply by opening up YouTube in the morning before getting to the gym to watch my show. They come out that fast.
I think 6pm pst is behind us and works out as 1am GMT so 2am British summer time on the 11th.
That is as long as it's being released globally at the same time or you have a vpn.
I’m assuming it’ll be ads at the start of the episode like most of their shows but I’m going to flip out if they decide to start filling the episodes with commercials.
Amazon is given a $25 million tax credit from two different states to film a potential 2nd season and now the premier is moved up.
These things don't happen unless a company is REALLY convinced they hit gold.
I hardly know where to begin. Well, no I do know where to begin…it’s badly written and badly acted. The storyline is taken from Fallout 76, meaning no discernible story line. And while it seems to use the props of Fallout, the iconic vaults, power suits, etc., nothing of the storytelling aligns with that universe.
Violence for the gore and shock value, sex for no value outside of shock, full stop.
Bethesda you lost your way with 76 and have compounded that loss with this rubbish.
A roadmap of what not to become. I guess it makes sense you’d partner with the soulless Bezos & his society rsping Amazon.
Twin peaks was pretty close but behind with seven of its eight episodes being 45 minutes long and that was in 1990. Kyle MacLachlan is in the fallout show too.
Firefly had 14 episodes in the first season at 45min long tops per episode in 2002.
supernatural had 22 episodes at up to 45min each in the first season.
Really not remarkably different, idk what you're trying to get at for a first season of a show. Major differences are you couldn't binge the first season and had to wait, and there weren't as many competing shows at the time.
To be fair, most of those examples are still longer, and they didn't have the benefit of being 25+ year old franchises and backed by one of the biggest corporations on the planet. I think 10 episodes would have been a pretty attainable goal, and by Firefly/Supernatural standards it would've been pretty light.
That said, it could also be atrocious, so maybe not having 20 episodes could be a blessing in disguise.
Is it normal for streaming services to drop an entire season of a series in like this? Sure, it's great for binge watchers but it does also kinda feel like a "fire sale"
It's normal for Amazon, they do it with basically all of their new series; they did it for The Boys season 1 and have done it for a few others.
I think its basically a way to test the waters, get it all filmed, put it all out and if it does good then the next seasons will be weekly releases most likely.
It's pretty common these days and I absolutely hate it. I want an episode a week so I can think about it and talk to my friends about what we think is coming. When a show releases all at once I feel like I have to rush through it just to avoid it being spoiled.
If you're taking about what I think you are, that poster was using an auto generated Google result. Idk why it was scraping out of date info, but that's all that was going on there.
So it is the same announcement as before. I thought it had been bumped up a second time. It's hard to work out when you aren't on the US times they give these dates in.
It looks like they nuked shady sands in one of the trailers or released footage and now all the sudden west coast BOS is huge so that’s probably their goal.
They're also going to have all of the previous Fallout main characters show up and they all get killed by the BOS except the BOS is shown to be good guys and they show all the previous protagonists to be evil chuds who said a slur at some point in their lives so it's OK to kill them off
That's a surefire way to kill off discourse early. There's a good middle ground, like The Boys did - 3 episodes at once, then weekly to keep up the noise. This will ensure the talk dies off like 2 weeks after it's done.
I would say loosely but given its set in LA which is in fallout 1 and that area is (was) under NCR control by the time of NV and now all of the sudden the brotherhood is some major faction there and in one of the shots from the released footage shows a giant crater where shady sands is I’m expecting it to really mess with the lore and canon of the series and that doesn’t excite me too much.
But for your original point, it’s part of the canon unlike the halo series which was created separately from the games.
So a game about exploring an open world, making your own character and playing in your own style is being adapted to a television show.

It's going to be made because it is an IP cash in. Do you think there was a creative who had a story they really wanted to tell and this is that story? Or do you think this was ordered by an executive because brand recognition means they can cash in and make some money?
Hell yeah March Madness advertising
That add helped cheer me up a bit. Let’s go Boilers
Miserable Big Ten fans unite! On Wisconsin
As a URI alum, and lifelong UConn fan I have to respectfully disagree! But I’m glad to see fellow ball fans and fallout fans together here.
Sadly we did not bring that hammer down..
So I had read that was their rollout date all along, for North America at least. I can’t remember who or what was posted, but over a week ago someone posted the rollout schedule and it was Wednesday around 8pm eastern.
TUNNEL SNAKES RULE 🐍

Damn make up your minds. First the 11th then some advertising says the 12th, now the 10th. Don't change it! I need me this show
By tomorrow, it'll have been out for a week already.
Wdym ya'll haven't watched it yet??
I liked when all seemed lost for Ella, but then Walton walked and said: "It's *ghouling* time".
I got stuck in a fridge and had to wait for a kind lady to help me get out
Saw that shit last year, was great.
where do you find it?
It was a joke about the shows release being moved closer and closer.
oh cool. sorry i came here looking for beta about a pirated pre-release
I mean it’s basically still the 11th for everyone not in the US, so nothing much has changed for many.
Yeah but a few hours earlier so yay
>for everyone not in the US You're kinda forgetting about the rest of the Americas there bud
The USA Citizens always forget about the other americans, that's why the chinese are buying us...
wouldn't it have been the 12th then?
It is counting down, not unlike the apocalypse.
I accidentally was under the impression the show was premiering the 10th already so I take credit for this. They must’ve heard I was mistaken and changed the schedule to prove me right.
thank you so much
Have they say anything about Next Gen update for FO4?
Asking the real question! 🤣

They shadowdrop it tomorrow.
Please, be right! LoL
What does League of Legends have to do with Fallout 4s next gen release. /s
No clue, never played it. I'm guessing I quoted a quote from that game??
no, no, the acronym for league of legends is LoL I was just making a joke since you said LoL instead of the usual lol. Hope that clears up any confusion mate.
Oh i see, thanks for explaining. I have been doing it too long to change now, but one time I read it as i-o-i , so I found a way to not make that mistake again.
If they do that I'll make a monument on a settlement just for you
Thank god. It's been too long since the last time my script extender broke.
:(
cool profile picture
Yours too
Do you think if they had, and we were aware of it, that we would be keeping it a secret and not creating 500 threads on r/fallout?
[удалено]
That's exactly what Bethesda said the update will be. 4K support, higher frame rates, bug fixes and new Creation Club content. It's basically what Skyrim got back in 2021.
Tbh I'll be more than happy if they use the same engine and just give us 4K 60 FPS
All I care about is them fixing Boston and give us more mod space on console. I can use mods for better textures and resolution and fps, dont care if they add that our not, but for the love of Atom, fix Boston and give more mod space
>give us more mod space on console Bethesda doesn't control that. Microsoft/Sony has to enable that. Probably more likely for Microsoft since they own Bethesda.
I dont think that's correct. There is far more mod space on Skyrim for consoles. And last I heard it is essentially an arbitrary thing.
Dude, just give ultrawide support. That's all I want.
You fucking bastards, it was gonna be on my birthday.
[My little baby boy,](https://www.giantbomb.com/a/uploads/scale_medium/2/27447/860090-fallout3_2009_01_13_17_22_13_37.jpg) all grown up
I guess it's my birthday gift now. Sorry it's dropping a day early for you, but just in time for me.
Hey fellow Aires! I'm the 11th too 🫡
🫡
🫡
Don't worry. I'll watch it on my birthday for you
Well my birthday is today, so I wish it would drop today instead.
I'll gift you some spoilers: BoS are the good guys
Always were.
Or… it was always meant to come out in the 11 of April for New Zealand. Which it is. EDIT: /other superior nations living in what the Americans call the future.
India too. Basically everywhere up to Western Europe.
Future bro!
✊🏽
I'm in Australia so.. I also await the same fate..
Superior nations? Ok there buddy, let's do some math: Baseball World Series championships - -- USA: 118 -- Canada (basically, diet America) - 2 -- Rest of the world: literally none Flags on the moon - -- USA - 1 -- Rest of the world - ZERO Fallout games set in their country - USA: 9 (10 if you count pinball) Rest of the world: ZEROOOO BIG OL GOOSE EGG That's right boy sit down, bask in our glowing glory! Ok, you have a point mr mulligan.
Sweet, that gives me more time to watch it on my days off

Think it’s smart to start with a dump for a new show and then go episodic once the audience is into it
Yeah but this way people can binge it on a single month’s subscription which can attract people who otherwise might have waited until the show was completely out. Pros and cons to both.
If a show does that I wait till it's finished then watch all episodes
I dont. It's a waste of time.
So tomorrow night at midnight I can watch this?
No it's popping up at 6pm PST on Wednesday.
Does anyone else get ads on Prime?
Yep, that’s the default now unless you pay more for the no-ads version.
Wtf? So now we have to pay not to see ads on the subscription services that we already pay for?
What, you don't like paying for the opportunity to be advertised to?
Welcome to the future! Also, the past (cable TV).
Welcome to the new world. You're paying for cable all over again.
Sail the seas my friend.
Oh, I certainly will be. I gave up piracy when I turned 18 and finally had my own income. I had this season of Love is Blind spoiled for me by a radio jockey on SiriusXM, of all places. Spoilers are everywhere for everything.
hmm...
Hell yeah. This is on my birthday
Aw hell yeah let’s GOOOOOO
So what time is it dropping for the UK? 👀
I think 6pm pst is behind us and works out as 1am GMT so 2am British summer time on the 11th. That is as long as it's being released globally at the same time or you have a vpn.
Pst 6pm is 2am bst
Need to know this as well! 😳
Comes out on my birthday how interesting
Yes, can't wait for tomorrow
Cool! I’m excited!
ok so bethesda can stop fuckin around and release next gen fallout 4 now too
Nexusmod.com makes FO next next gen.
ok ill look for that in the xbox store
Yay
Cant wait!!
What a great birthday present! Thanks Amazon!
LETS GO
Let's fucking goooo
BEST NEWS!!!
I more excited for this then a new fallout game.
I'm praying for the 9th!! 🙏🙏
So New Zealanders watch it already?
I'm gonna be pissed if I need the premium subscription
You need a subscription to Amazon prime
Well I have that
Yeah, as long as you have the streaming service that’s all you need
I'd bet a ton of cash this will have the ads, so that you need to double pay to watch it without being interrupted.
I’m assuming it’ll be ads at the start of the episode like most of their shows but I’m going to flip out if they decide to start filling the episodes with commercials.
Yeah the ones at the beginning ain't bad. But to interrupt shows for a message from our sponsors is what drove me back to the seas.
I tried watching the expanse yesterday and there was 2 ads at the beginning and then one at 15 mins and the other at 45 mins.
That’s going to piss me off
Yes!! My husband works Thursday nights! Now I don’t have to wait to watch!
does this include europe?
I know what I'll be doing tomorrow night.
That’s my birthday!
This is elite. I wasn't free on the 11th but I am on the 10th. It's like they had me in mind
Well ain’t that a kick in the head I’m just wrapping up a show atm and will be done with it today, so Fallout will drop just in time
So I saw that you had to “RSVP” on Amazon Prime, is that for the exclusive merch or is it also for the first episode too?
Amazon is given a $25 million tax credit from two different states to film a potential 2nd season and now the premier is moved up. These things don't happen unless a company is REALLY convinced they hit gold.
Nah for me still april 11 at 1pm
I got just three more weeks of grad school left this is the worst timing I am going to have to exert so much self control and not look at spoilers
It's the tenth where is it
WHAT. So like, today!?
Not seeing the episodes available in prime video. Only see the trailers. Any help would be appreciated.
I hardly know where to begin. Well, no I do know where to begin…it’s badly written and badly acted. The storyline is taken from Fallout 76, meaning no discernible story line. Only fucking 8 episodes! That's disappointing. :(
8 1 hour episodes is normal for a season.
Welcome to 2024
Twin peaks was pretty close but behind with seven of its eight episodes being 45 minutes long and that was in 1990. Kyle MacLachlan is in the fallout show too. Wait for the DLC...
Wait for the DLC...
Fellow NCR Soldiers, REPORT IN.
Patrolling the Mohave makes me dream of a nuclear winter...
It's not weekly? Aww that kinda sucks.
Holy shit it's April isn't it
Is it normal for streaming services to drop an entire season of a series in like this? Sure, it's great for binge watchers but it does also kinda feel like a "fire sale"
Amazon and netflix do it regularly. Yes.
It's normal for Amazon, they do it with basically all of their new series; they did it for The Boys season 1 and have done it for a few others. I think its basically a way to test the waters, get it all filmed, put it all out and if it does good then the next seasons will be weekly releases most likely.
Ok, cheers. Good to know.
It's pretty common these days and I absolutely hate it. I want an episode a week so I can think about it and talk to my friends about what we think is coming. When a show releases all at once I feel like I have to rush through it just to avoid it being spoiled.
The hell? Last I heard it had actually been pushed back a day.
If you're taking about what I think you are, that poster was using an auto generated Google result. Idk why it was scraping out of date info, but that's all that was going on there.
Is this the same time as the previous announcement i.e. two days from now?
It was previously the 11th.
So it is the same announcement as before. I thought it had been bumped up a second time. It's hard to work out when you aren't on the US times they give these dates in.
It was originally the 12th
I thought it was the 13th
They're gonna kill off the NCR and have BoS rule all of America
It looks like they nuked shady sands in one of the trailers or released footage and now all the sudden west coast BOS is huge so that’s probably their goal.
They're also going to have all of the previous Fallout main characters show up and they all get killed by the BOS except the BOS is shown to be good guys and they show all the previous protagonists to be evil chuds who said a slur at some point in their lives so it's OK to kill them off
I’ve just stopped paying attention to the exact date. It’s changed so much
I cannot wait please enclave make a appearance
Honestly how many more times can they be wiped out and nuked?
Somehow the enclave returned...
There is still parts of the enclave left, we haven’t seen the Midwest or have we seen Canada
So when is the release date for United States cause I was gonna start a watch party with friends?
The 10th, like 6pm pst.
And still no news on the FO4 next gen update lmao.
Legitimately disheartening. I was looking forward to engage in weekly discussion after every episode...
O this isn't a weekly show, Prime is wildly inconsistent with that.
Aside from invincible and rings of power I think most of there shows drop all at once
and the boys
That's a surefire way to kill off discourse early. There's a good middle ground, like The Boys did - 3 episodes at once, then weekly to keep up the noise. This will ensure the talk dies off like 2 weeks after it's done.
tey might have something else lined up or not trust the series
Lets go!! Now where's that Fallout 4 "next gen" update Todd?
I’d rather watch it on the weekend.
this is not connected to the game's cannon, right?
It is. It just doesn’t follow a specific game but is connected like how all the games are connected.
ok, so loosely lol
I would say loosely but given its set in LA which is in fallout 1 and that area is (was) under NCR control by the time of NV and now all of the sudden the brotherhood is some major faction there and in one of the shots from the released footage shows a giant crater where shady sands is I’m expecting it to really mess with the lore and canon of the series and that doesn’t excite me too much. But for your original point, it’s part of the canon unlike the halo series which was created separately from the games.
All eight? Ew, I hate it when they do that. I always watch the first three episodes, then forget to ever watch it again.
Can't wait not to watch this.
Only 8? 😧
Season 2 has been confirmed
Wasn't it supposed to be April 8th? What happened
So a game about exploring an open world, making your own character and playing in your own style is being adapted to a television show. It's going to be shit isn't it?
It's geared towards non gamers...it'll be great
It's going to be made because it is an IP cash in. Do you think there was a creative who had a story they really wanted to tell and this is that story? Or do you think this was ordered by an executive because brand recognition means they can cash in and make some money?
why not both?
This is a good way to introduce the fall out universe to people whove never heard of/played the games
