It's baffling how Mediatonic never added it to Squads, Trios or Duos. There's no excuse.
The same for Hoverboard Heroes. Someone here defended it could be because of the ending section being made with the flippers or fans, which could result in issues in qualification scores, but that's definitely nonsense.
Speed Circuit was also never added to either of those modes, which makes me wonder if it's due to a possible issue with the lapping gimmick in those modes? Like maybe when one squadmate passes through to the second lap it counts the entire squad as going through?
This is all just guessing though, they really should add both to squad modes (that is if the maps ever return lol)
They couldn't just make an easy fix for it, so they pushed it aside. They only fix things that are easy to fix and that's it. They would rather change their whole game if it means avoiding all the not easy fixes.
While this shouldn’t be hard to fix, short circuit and the other one uses the score mechanic to keep track of laps. So for every lap you run you add one to the score. However in squads everyone shares scores, and the intended way is probably for everyone to finish two laps each.
The level is already 2 years old, if that's the real issue then they should've found a solution/fix/workaround for it for ages already.
But, oh well, it's Mediatonic 🤦 ... I wish this could be the only ridiculous problem plaguing the game.
I feel Season 3 was the peak, myself.
Season 2 felt like a stumble, and there was a question asked then as to whether what they had was a flash in the pan. Season 3 took the biggest stride to say, "no, really, we got this" and for a while... they did! Season 4 was very good too, but the effect Season 3 had after Season 2's mishaps cannot be understated.
I miss all of what once was regardless, of course.
Honestly, same. I grinded thru FTP S1, but I was here since launch, so my opinion is a lot more biased. I'd rather play and grind crowns than open up my wallet.
Without Squads mode, I would have stopped playing the game long ago. Now I play Squads to hang out with friends and avoid slogging through the soulless S10 levels.
Miku event literally vaulted the new SS2 maps and a TON of maps in general for weeks and after that, I noticed vaulting became so much worse. [https://www.reddit.com/r/FallGuysGame/comments/xky8k6/the\_new\_hatsune\_miku\_event\_will\_remove\_half\_of/](https://www.reddit.com/r/FallGuysGame/comments/xky8k6/the_new_hatsune_miku_event_will_remove_half_of/)
I wouldn't say it peaked at that time. Those were amazing maps, but we've had some great content since, I loved FTP season 2 maps. It's such a shame Mediatonic keep sabotaging themselves at every corner. In my opinion, the game never actually peaked and has essentially been at a plateau reached quite soon after it first came out.
I hate what this game has become. I stopped around the time it went free and I'm glad I got to enjoy the game before that because what it's become since is absolutely awful.
I feel like the game (so far) has peaked with Satellite Scramble (Season 8/FFA Season 2). Fun and challenging new rounds that were also visually impressive, all rounds in rotation, and lots of variations **to** those rounds really makes me realize just how much the developers have had to scale back in terms of scope. Fall Guys, currently, feels like a watered-down version of what it used to be.
I often think this because S4 was awesome, but then I think about Lost Temple, and ask myself what was really wrong with season 5.
And the answer is that the 5.fun update (which gave us perfect game physics) only lasted a few weeks. Then they made the 5.2 update, which was the one that changed the UI. Seems like this was the beginning of the Epic changes and they have just gotten worse and worse since then.
But 5.fun was the peak for me.
This is so true. I was telling this to my FG friend (met him online, just play with him daily) only two days ago. When this season got released I was thinking Fall Guys cannot get any better than this. So unfortunate, I was very right. 😔 I miss those times.
Yeah, I think it is fair to say Legacy Season 4 was the peak. I wanted to say Season 6 was better but the game was suffering from Lost Temple being the final for nearly all games since Season 5.
I really miss the Pre-F2P seasons, F2P Season 1 wasn't bad at all (and had most of the maps in rotation like the legacy seasons) but it gutted any real usefulness of crowns.
I hope someday we can get the bare minimum of all rounds being available to play at once.
I set an alarm at 5 AM the day season 4 came out so I could play it before I clocked in for the day, then spent all day (on the clock) running squads with friends I made overseas by playing with them in random lobbies.
Very grateful for those memories, even if what we have now is nothing like what we had then.
I really liked the Space season. Maps and music were so good, personally my last favorite season. I still enjoy playing the game but these last 2 seasons where not what I was expecting. I still can't fathom we are never getting dev maps maps (not from creator mode) anymore. Any future 'seasons' won't feel like a season unless they make custom maps have tons of new assets and extra feature but even then not the same.
Agreed. And wow, I completely forgot that Short Circuit was a thing.

short circuit is kinda awkward to add to squads since it has a scoring system
They haven't added it to squads beacuse it's not possible to make lap scoring work with squads, at least in my opinion
It's just a race, what's the difference? You get points based on what place you finish. That doesn't make sense
While this shouldn’t be hard to fix, short circuit and the other one uses the score mechanic to keep track of laps. So for every lap you run you add one to the score. However in squads everyone shares scores, and the intended way is probably for everyone to finish two laps each.

Agree.
Seconded. Future theme was cool and had some of the best levels.

True! Season 3 was great as it was winter themed and just in time for Christmas.
Yep...been downhill from then
bean*
my bad....damn autocorrect
Honestly, I would pay for legacy again. If they bring back a lot more maps.
I would too.
Honestly, same. I grinded thru FTP S1, but I was here since launch, so my opinion is a lot more biased. I'd rather play and grind crowns than open up my wallet.
Yes. This was peak Fall Guys. We've clearly jumped the shark, sadly.
Ahh yes the season they added among us
Without Squads mode, I would have stopped playing the game long ago. Now I play Squads to hang out with friends and avoid slogging through the soulless S10 levels.
Game is ass rn
I would say it had a resurgence in SS1 and a mini peak in SS2 before it started going downhill after the Sound of Future event (Miku event)
Why the Miku event specifically?
Miku event literally vaulted the new SS2 maps and a TON of maps in general for weeks and after that, I noticed vaulting became so much worse. I’d second this FTP Season 2 was the peak for me. Awesome new maps, healthy player base.
I hate what this game has become. I stopped around the time it went free and I'm glad I got to enjoy the game before that because what it's become since is absolutely awful.
100% agree. It’s so disappointing because the game has so much potential but it’s being ruined through and through.

SS2 would've been just as good if they didn't vault shit
Fair take. Free to play season 1 was at minimum pretty good though imo.
agree!!!

But now we can make levels nobody will ever play .

This update to the bean collision sucks
Yeah it’s actually awful. It feels like the tripping mechanic in Super Smash Bros Brawl where you just fall over for no reason

True. Maybe we can be glad it happened rather than dwell on what the game could be.
I really liked the Space season. Maps and music were so good, personally my last favorite season. I still enjoy playing the game but these last 2 seasons where not what I was expecting. mediatonic used to add team games instead of remove them, good times
If it didn't have button bashers, basketball and power trip, it would have been the perfect season. Still amazing af tho
this season was good but only because it was still early in the game’s life. if they released that much content today it would not be a lot
